Coco Key Hotel & Water Park

I have just read the review from April 21st and it's prompted me to write this one. I'm also in block 6 and I can't smell weed here so that lady must have been smoking it herself. Our room was cleaned daily, we had fresh towels, beds changed, hoovered, and every single day you see the maids trolleys around the floor, in and out of rooms working hard. It's such a shame when "KARENS" jump on here because they are too tight to pay for the Wyndham but expect the Wyndham. We had no problems with cleaning. There was even a manager knocking on our door every other day just to check up on the cleaners and were we happy, so that was the opportunity to say something, not wait till you got home and get your fingers out to complain. Geeeesh!! Anyway, back onto the hotel. We had a blast in the waterpark, the slides were brilliant and some steep ones. Slides for all ages. There was a foam party at the weekend, my daughter loved it. Wonderful, wonderful life guards working hard but very good at their job. I could relax a bit more knowing they were pacing about keeping an eye. Clean towels to use daily. The arcade, yeah it eats your dollars, but so does any other arcade back home. The bar was OK, bit pricey as you expect from a hotel bar but good for few drinks or they let you take your own by the pool, so head to Walmart and grab some beers. We ate at the restaurants once or twice and they were just OK. Clean prepared food but it was basic food style. It's OK if the kids need chips and they are hungry. For a large meal, no. But nothing wrong with it. The staff can't help you enough, People are down to earth here and I actually really enjoyed it. My family did too. We go home tomorrow after 14 days in block 6. Honestly, don't listen to other reviews they are totally over exaggerated in hope of a refund I'm sure. We loved it, and will be back next year 🙌👏 Read less

Great location with lots of restaurants and shops near by. Short distances to parks. Hotel itself was disappointing. The area in our block( block6) stunk of weed 24/7. The air conditioning was so loud we couldn’t have it running at night. Our bathroom was not that clean on check in, layer of hair that wasn’t ours, in bath, sink and on the floor. We did have a basic bed make, wipe around and fresh towels daily. Beds were changed every 4 days. Most of the power outlets didn’t work, so we struggled to use the hairdryer with the mirror.… we only had 4 hangers and 4 drawers so had to live out of our suitcases for 2 weeks. We also requested family connecting rooms and we were not given these. The blinds did not work properly either. We didn’t make use of the restaurants on site as we felt they were overpriced and I was worried about the cleanliness of the kitchen due to the state of our room. We also did not use the waterpark. It’s more of a motel than a hotel but it was an ok base for showering and sleeping. Rooms could do with updating too. I probably wouldn’t stay here again. Read less

The worst thing about this place was having to leave!!!! From the moment of stepping through the front door and being greeted by the front desk to our at last hour there when we were grabbing breakfast and checking out the stay that my daughter and I experienced was absolutely wonderful. I would like to thank each and one of your staff members. Each individual I came in contact with were extremely friendly, and if approached also very helpful. Check in was very simple and the front desk staff were always available to answer any of your questions. I had quite a few throughout my stay. They even offered this service after check-in where someone from the staff texts you that way if at any time you need immediate assistance or you can't for some reason or another get through by phone you can just ask. I use that quite often too myself. Everyone has their phone next to them at all times which makes it quite handy. The room was nice and exactly what I expected. Only thing kind of cool would be if you guys got some microwaves in the rooms but this was already known so nothing that can be held against them. Everything else was exactly how I thought it would be and honestly a bit nicer. My room was poolside and I love being able to walk out the doors right to the pool. The unit in the wall could sometimes make a little bit of noise but all you have to do is shut it off and write back on. That is seriously to be expected in most places especially after running it all day. The front pool very nice and the landscaping around both it and throughout was absolutely beautiful. Seriously their staff you could tell kept up with the building. Constantly either doing housekeeping or maintenance which kept the place extremely tidy. And with a place with that many people running around especially going into the back water Park area with all the families kids and parties. It's VERY important. And again even when walking around and the maintenance man power washing outside stops to say hello to you then you know just how exceptional the entire staff is. The water park was fun I even ran around myself and played a bit. In all 3 sections thank you. Plenty of lifeguards on staff which is also a major plus considering a lot of parents don't bother to run around with their kids. Safety measures we're definitely approved upon and then some. I also really liked how you guys had the gates in between each section, because of that reason. They also had bars by both the hotel pool and the water park. Would have loved a little bit more of a selection but your bartender's I came in contact with definitely sold it on all that you had. Thanks so much Andres. The arcade was okay. A pretty wide assortment of games and price was alright but we didn't really spend too much time in there because she was so drawn to the water park. The little restaurant/snack bar place they had was okay as well. Typical variety of food that you would offer in a family establishment or a place with pool. Both places offer pretty much the same type of variety we offer at the ones I run back home during the summer season along with the restaurant throughout the year. However the breakfast spot .... That place is absolutely phenomenal. And I'm talking about both the selection and of course the staff!!!!! Food is always hot and you can see how they work together and cleaning everything up as quickly as possible while not forgetting the number one thing and being customer service. Two girls I absolutely have to shout out to. Sandra an Johenix!!! Now those are two shining stars and the hustle on them girls along with their personalities and eagerness to display exceptional customer service. I seriously wish I had 10 just like them especially coming into the summer season. Ladies you were amazing. An Jo my offer stands, if you ever make it up here to Virginia Beach area weather for vacation or relocation. Please hit me up. My daughter and I had to give them hugs goodbye they were both soooooo wonderful. Thank you for not only making this not only the most memorable, but also the very best vacation we have had. Ps Oh and I'm guessing I should probably post something about the shuttles. Like everything else they were great. Multiple times both in the morning and in the evening. However the last one picks up I believe was at 7:20 (for universal) but if you want it to stay a little bit longer you could either Uber ($7-10 depending on style) or walk. (Which I wouldn't really recommend due to the traffic especially with younger ones but it's about a 47 minute walk) Pps.
