The hotel

Not only does CoCo Key offer great family rooms with plenty of space in the heart of Orlando, it boasts it's own water park too — one of the best in the area! With 14 slides, three heated pools and a state-of-the-art gaming arcade, kids of all ages can play to their hearts content all day, every day. You're also just a hop and a skip away from a myriad of Orlando attractions (including the theme parks), so there's never a dull moment! And although restaurants abound (you can walk to over 50 restaurants and shops), The Tradewinds Restaurant on-site is a great place to dine, feasting on deep south favourites, followed by amazing dessert selections. A daily entertainment program means the kids will be making friends in no time, including movies screened by the pool and interesting activities that are hosted by the hotel staff. Look for the hotel mascot CoCo in the morning and afternoon for photo opportunities.

391 rooms. All with air-conditioning, 37" flat-screen TV, telephone, WiFi (included in the resort fee), mini-fridge, coffee maker, safe, hairdryer, iron and board. Standard Rooms with 1 king-size bed and queen-size sleeper sofa or 2 double/queen-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults.

Just back from 2 weeks here. We’ve visited Orlando lots but first time in this hotel and we had a fantastic time. Great value for money, waterpark fantastic, staff are friendly, spotlessly clean, lots of life guards at the water. They even alternated opening the big and little parts of the water parks one day as there were obviously a lack of staff which although disappointed the kids, was a big tick for me, safety first 🙂. Great location, opposite cicis, all you can eat pizza. Bus stop outside. Family of 6 so had to book two rooms which were situated as close as possible, just across the corridor. We had an extra adult with us first week so wasn’t a bother, second week, we asked if there were any adjoining rooms. This was accommodated no problem. Poolside rooms 🙌. Initially we were worried about the noise having a 9,6,4,2year old, but the water park closed 7pm in the week, 9 at weekends so wasn’t noisy at all. Breakfast was good, cooked option and waffle maker, usual cereal, yoghurt etc. The kids had the best time week two when we spent more time here than actually going to universal as they’re a bit too little and too hot for that. The hotel itself is so bright and clean and rooms are very spacious. Coco key has an onsite water park which is an amazing feature and the kids really enjoyed that. Coco water park was a good time. I opted in for a rum Punch and Elijah took care of me and my mom while my Newphew swim at the water park. Highly recommend For the drinks. Good customer service. My mom ordered the nachos as well which were good for bar food.

Hotel is great for families. Kids loved the water park and even just playing in the pool. Erik the concierge is fantastic. Give great advice and always making everyone laugh and smile. Airam was great at changing our room to suit our families needs. Free towels for use in the pool areas. If you have a later flight home you can pay $45 to keep your room till 4pm. Location is great for both universal and Disney. Hotel has shuttle services to and from both disney and universal. Disney shuttle is at 09:50 from the bus stop outside and drops you at Epcot, from there you can get a shuttle bus to any of the other Disney parks. Pick up is at 18:10 at Hollywood studios. This bus also drops off at sea world and picks you back up outside sea world at 18:30. The universal shuttle needs to be booked the day before and this has 3 buses daily. Times are 07:40, 08:50 and 10:00. Pick up is from the same bus stop as drop off and the times for coming back are 17:15, 18:20 and 19:25. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is good and has a good choice, we ate here pretty much every day. Costing $32.78 (with 20% discount for staying onsite). Kids ate free for breakfast too. We have stayed in multiple hotels over the years on international drive and this one is without a doubt the BEST GOOD POINTS - simple check in with very pleasant staff - super easy and super helpful - free I-drive passes - what hotels will do this?! What a touch - 20% of voucher across the resort - reception - WOW - super clean, super cool and loads of chill out areas - stayed at 5* places that have worst reception areas - well done Coco Key. Free water out in reception too - water park - included and great addition for those with kids, lots of staff & lifeguards on duty too! Area very clean - general condition of property - you can tell they are spending money on this resort - even stuff people may not appreciate but soft resin pavements everywhere! That won’t have been cheap but they have covered all the walkways with this. - arcade - massive onsite arcade - rooms - all rooms in international drive are broadly the same however I like that these rooms have wooden floor, are quite bright and roomy. Gives you what you need. - cleaners - always helpful and do a great job - good location, 15 minute walk to ICON park (found more bars & restaurants down there), 5 minute walk to Walgreens, plenty more ‘fast food’ restaurants on your doorstep BAD POINTS I have to be really really critical here as they are not really bad but for balance - aircon is loud but again we’ve found most places are - fridge - our fridge did have a unusual smell but nothing too bad - some of the staff in the restaurant & bar were not as ‘friendly’ as the staff in reception- Wouldn’t say they were rude but didn’t get the same experience’ - jacuzzi - is quite hard concrete with some sharp edges so be careful when getting in - bar prices - could be cheaper to make it more affordable to stay on site - all places in Florida are expensive though i thought this year, I do like have a few drinks in a bar after a long day & felt this was missing in this hotel - would love a Fanta slushie machine in the hotel shop - would save me working to McDonald’s multiple times a day!! The proof is in the pudding - while sat in the onsite water park enjoying my holiday I booked another 2 week stay for next year back at Coco key.
