This is a tough one to review because it wasn’t great but it wasn’t horrible either. I’ll start with the good. The hotel is centered around a large, indoor courtyard. This is a tough one to review because it wasn’t great but it wasn’t horrible either. I’ll start with the good. The hotel is centered around a large, indoor courtyard. It’s clean and doesn’t feel dated. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Elevators arrive quickly and it’s easy to find your room. I loved that there were bottle fillers available because we all know what a rip off bottled water is at a hotel. The food and drinks were very good and didn’t seem outrageously priced (knowing this is a hotel in a tourist area). Coffee shop is great— very efficient. Parking was easy in and easy out ( though expensive). If you are going to Sea World you will not beat the location— literally an easy walk across the street. Now the meh. Our room was very worn— even the finish on the bath tub was worn off. The carpet was beyond disgusting— worn out, dirty and dampish. I sure didn’t walk on it with bare feet. While the room seemed mostly clean, we did find a hair in the bathroom sink which happens, I guess, but is just yuck. The bedding was clean and while the bed wasn’t uncomfortable it also wasn’t as comfy as other Marriott properties. So all in all, it wasn’t an awful stay but didn’t live up to the 4+ star ratings shown on Trip Advisor. I’ll pass on this property in the future, purely because of the condition of the room. The people were lovely around the pool but the staff at the bar were so rude to me and my employee, when i went to the bar I asked for 5 drinks and he looked at me and laughed in my face and refused to serve me, I couldn't believe this and this stopped me from going to the bar for the rest of my holiday stay. I don't like to name and shame but the worker who served me my drinks was manuel. In my opinion and my employees opinion we will not be coming back for another stay here even though it was a lovely place but ruined by terrible staff Read less

I cannot thank the staff enough (especially Jordan, the wait staff at Boardwalk, the poolside DJ and the poolside manager) for being the nicest people around and accommodating us on this special weekend for us. The rooms were perfect, the food at Palms and Boardwalk were amazing and the extensive renovations they made inside and out really show. We have gone here for over 20 years now and they never fail to amaze us with their excellent in service! I highly recommend staying here (we will be back) and yes, the salmon at Boardwalk is to die for! The staff works hard here and it shows! Read less

BE AWARE OF CLOSING ELEVATORS I attended a social group's conference in April. During my stay, my sister and I were entering the elevator when the door started to close as I was half way in the elevator. I immediate put my hand up to stop the door from closing on me and my bracelet got caught in the door. As I pulled my arm back my Tiffany bracelet broke and beads were all over the elevator and lobby floor. The staff at the front desk immediately assisted me and called security for assistance. A report was taken and I was informed a claim would be filed. After a month of waiting I was informed that because the elevator had not had any other incident before or after my incident it was my fault and the claim was denied. The claim office stated the hotel could take care of the claim however the hotel stated it was my fault for stopping the elevator and it will not be covered by the hotel. In conversation with the claim office, the hotel did not have a video to show the incident. I contacted the hotel and was told that management watched the video of the incident multiple times and they deem it my fault. I asked to see the video to ensure it was my fault and I was told it would not be provided because my case was deemed closed and the claim denied. Please be caution of closing elevators, I was also told by the hotel that elevator records showed I pressed the button to call for the elevator however as my sister and I were walking to get on the elevator records show another person on another floor called for the elevator and the elevator stated to close to go to the other floor. PLEASE USE CAUTION WHEN USING THE ELEVATOR AT THIS HOTEL!!!!! Read less
