We are hoping to go back in 2022...I can never understand why some ppl complain about this hotel. We have always gotten excellent service the staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are amazingly clean. In fact the person who cleans the rooms has another person who comes around and checks them to make sure they are done up to standards. There are alot of nice restaurants near by as well as very good entertainment, great shopping and alot of things to do. And yes there are lineups, for checkin, we found that if you come before 4pm or after 8 or 9 they are not so long. This is what our group saw while we were surveying the lobby :) Which was our meeting place in the evenings while we waited for everyone before going into the Zebra for a few drinks and some great karoke. Where do I even begin with this? When I booked the room their website said that check-in wasn't until 4 PM, which is kind of late in the day. I had tickets for that night to go to Universal's Halloween Horror Nights with early entry, so I had to be there by the event start which meant getting into the hotel by 3 PM. When I called the hotel, I was told I "might" be able to check in early, space permitting, but with a $30 early check in fee added on. Wait. What? When I got there there was only a few people in line so I thought I'd ask about early check-in. Sure, no problem. OK, then. So I check in, and go to the room. Only the magnet key card doesn't want to work on the first try, or second. Finally on the third try in I go. Leave and enjoy my time at Universal and come back at 11 pm only to find NO, as in ZERO, parking spaces in the lot. The security guard at the gate told me to keep going around until I found one. Seriously? The lot is one way traffic, so I had to keep driving around the hotel until I eventually found one at the opposite end of the property from where my room was. I went to the front desk to ask about this and I see this HUGE line of people trying to check in and heard someone there complaining about what I just went through with parking and another at the front saying they have been in line for over an hour waiting to check in with 8 windows and three people working. Now at this point I'm hungry and thirsty, so I thought I'd check out the store on property. Bad idea. Prices are higher than a 7-11 here with a small Lunchable costing $5.99, the same ones I can get at Walmart for $1 each. A bottle of soda was $4. So I left, wnet across the street to a CVS drugstore and paid half this. Next day - Same kind of story with parking coming back to the hotel and the line at check-in when I walked by. Now the room was fine. The bed was good, the room clean, amenities at the property were even good. But my God, the parking situation here and the check-in process / time are definitely enough to make you leave to find another hotel, and they seriously need to get this figured out and quick. Until they do, I can't rate this hotel any higher than what I did. Read less

Check in was a complete nightmare. We get inside and see the checkout line is wrapped around, down the hallway, and out the back door. Great. Takes over an hour to finally get up to check in (not exaggerating) and are “reservation hasn’t gone through yet” what? I’ve never had this happen before. Takes over an hour to finally get up to check in (not exaggerating) and are “reservation hasn’t gone through yet” what? I’ve never had this happen before. Then I see there’s a line for people like us where they can’t find reservations and we have to go stand with them to start over again. I call to my hotel booking site to cancel, he calls the hotel and they won’t allow it because MAGICALLY they have my reservation. I’m upset. My partner is online looking for a new hotel just due to the principal. I say no we’ll stay let’s have a positive attitude. That’s where the 2 stars vs 1 comes. Although we didn’t get in our room for over 2 hours now at this point and the staff could really care less, the room was actually clean. The pools-although it’s getting dark at this point- were very nice. Parking is a huge issue I read in other reviews but we just parked early enough and walked everywhere-hotels in a great location. For me due to the check in I scored low and would never stay. For you, if you have no problems at check in you will more than likely enjoy your stay. I don’t know why they don’t have online check in or self serve kiosks like Vegas. It was CRAZY Read less

Avoid this place at all cost. Registration queue was over an hour. Left for a group dinner meet and discovered an even longer queue. It's 2021, no reason not to have automated check-in / digital room keys like at Hampton hotels. Immediately cancelled and found a hotel 15 mins away.

We tried checking in around 4:30…the line to check in was at least an hour long. We went and did our plans, thinking if we came back at 2 am it would be better.
