We booked the Rosen through Universal.com when we were booking our vacation. Upon arrival, they had no record of our reservation. As it was very late, no one at universal was available by phone to fix the issue. The hotel staff did, to their credit, find a room for us for the night until we could resolve the issue in the morning. We were also told that “this happens sometimes” so evidently this is an issue with either the Rosen or Universal. Perhaps their partnership is not a strong as one would hope. We checked on the shuttle. It ran at either 7:10 (before the parks open) or 9:20 for drop off at universal. We asked if we would need reservations and were told that the universal people are here sometimes but the desk clerk wasn’t sure when, we could either check back every couple of hours to see if they were there or just show up and get on the bus since it is first come, first served. We just showed up because we were already going to have to delay going to the park to settle the reservation issue. First thing in the morning we were able to sort out the room problems and were only given the explanation that “nothing was put in the computer”. So, this appears to be a problem with communication between universal and Rosen. The room was tiny! Beds were only double beds, no queens, so it was very tight for a family. And we should have known better than to book a hotel that lists “bathroom mirror” among their amenities, because the bathroom was teeny tiny and the water pressure barely wet our hair, much less rinsed any shampoo out of thick curls. On our final night we double checked to see if shuttle reservations were necessary (OH and by this time they randomly started making you wear a wrist band to prove that you didn’t have a temp, but apparently temperatures on weekdays are not a problem, only on weekends 🤷🏻‍♀️) and were told again that they were not. Then we did finally see a universal rep at the guest services area and spoke to her. She again confirmed that shuttle reservations were not necessary. I pointed out the website that says reservations for the shuttle are required. She said “see my universal issued official polo, I am assuring you they aren’t necessary”. I hope you see the plot twist coming.... the next morning, because I tend to be skeptical, I sent my husband downstairs at 6:45 to get a reservation for the 7:10 shuttle. The guest services desk was closed and dark, no people to get seen. When the rest of us tried to catch the shuttle BOOM we had to have....you guessed it, a reservation! When I brought this up to the person who was holding the reservation clipboard, she said “OH the lady that is here in the evenings is the time share lady she doesn’t know what she is talking about”. To sum up, the partnership between the Rosen and Universal needs some couples therapy, apparently to get a shuttle reservation you have to find this magical clipboard at some point, sometime, somewhere, with someone, but no one can tell you when where how or who. And if you want to shuttle back, you will need to leave the park at either 5:05 or 7:10, so don’t plan a whole day! Read less

Probably the best option for travelers on a budget in the I-Drive area from my experience. Simple but clean with comfy beds. Pretty much my only minor complaint though. Read less

Excellent stay! Convenient location with shuttles to parks. Monique at the front desk was extremely helpful. We arrived a few hours early (before check in) and she found a room that was ready for us! They also offered to print our park tickets out to save us time upon arrival.

The hotel itself was fine except for the paper-thin windows that let lots of traffic noise in...and we were on the seventh floor! Very noisy night! In the lobby area as you enter, the hotel has allowed people to ambush you with a time-share vacation-rental scam offer promising all sorts of gifts if you attend a presentation the next day. We looked them up on the internet and they have numerous complaints with the BBB. The hotel should be ashamed of itself for allowing these people to loudly call out to tired travelers who just want a room for the night. We will NEVER stay at another Rosen Inn after this experience. Read less
