The hotel

The Rosen Inn International is situated in the heart of International Drive, the main entertainment centre in Orlando, so it's in a great location to explore the shops, bars and restaurants that line this popular road. Full-on buffet breakfasts and dinners are served in the hotel's Fountain View Restaurant, and they have some very special discounts, exclusively for you. There's also a Lite Bite Deli for a snack on the run. The rooms have a modern and fresh new look whilst keeping that much needed comfort at the end of the day. Including a fridge, microwave and coffee maker, you can store your own refreshing cold drinks and make snacks for hungry kids! There are two swimming pools just waiting for you to leap into after a hard day exploring the theme parks. What's more, all public areas have been completely renovated.

The pools are great and we always got a lounger 👍 there is a restaurant in the hotel but we only used it once for breakfast. The bar has happy hour 1700 till 1900 everyday and the lady who served us was really welcoming every time. The barman is a little bit wow 😮 but once you get his patter he’s a good guy. We will be back to use this hotel next year and can’t wait as I’d say it’s a proper hidden gem on international drive. 👍 Read less

This hotel was cheap so I won't complain to much but would advise people to spend a small amount more and stay elsewhere. The rooms are dark/dingy/smell stale and need a good 're vamp in my opinion. This is a basic hotel which we used as a base but would unlikely use again if we returned to Orlando. Staff arent all that friendly. Small double… Read more

Good things are that it was a good location we used to explore parts of Florida and universal. Lots of places to eat locally ( never ate in the hotel so unsure what it was like). You get what you pay for glad our other 2 weeks were spent at a nicer hotel prior to this. Read less

Emailed hotel prior to arrival and notes were on file so we got the room we wanted in the location we asked for. Reception staff very helpful throughout our visit and the cleaning staff were reliable and nice. As the title says we have stayed here twice before and knew what to expect. Apart from neighbours who had small children (2 women with 3 kids) who ran up and down the corridors sometimes we had no issues with the hotel. What I did have an issue with is the pushy salesmen at the private desk. We only had two reasons to visit there. 1st visit to purchase I trolley 5 day passes. What a pain. Asked one man about I trolley tickets, who promptly asked me if I had theme park tickets? What!!! Where did asking for I Trolley tickets imply I wanted theme park tickets?? Eventually was pointed to a nice lady on the desk who helped. 2nd visit we thought we would save $25 parking fee at Universal by using the "free" shuttle. Well this time the "desk" tried to sell me a private transfer?? When I eventually insisted I wanted the free transfer I was then told as it was 7pm on the Thursday I could not book the free transfer on Saturday morning until Friday evening but I could book a private transfer. Needless to say I never returned and preferred to pay $25 to park than use the parasitic time share desk. These time share parasites are cashing in on tired and vulnerable hotel guests and are a disgrace. What is worse is Rosen Inn reception actually point you to the parasites on checking in. Disgraceful practice. We will return to International Drive again but after 3 stays, over 5 years, here we will look at somewhere else to stay in 2021 if the parasite time share desk is still mentioned as being active in reviews. Another fantastic holiday staying at the Rosen inn international. Rooms are always spacious, beds comfy, staff very friendly and the universal shuttle is very handy. OK so we arrived at the hotel late in the afternoon after a whole day travelling. We booked in at the desk and was given a page of coupons that included a welcome pack at the information desk opposite. As we were directed to the information desk by the hotel staff and given the coupons by them, we presumed it was all part of the hotel. Every information desk in any hotel Ive ever stayed in world wide has been staffed by hotel employees. Not the case in the USA. Private companies rent the space but make it look like its part of the hotel. There was no signage indicating otherwise. A very pleasant and helpful young man gave us our welcome pack which consisted of a map of Orlando. (could have got that myself from a stand) We stated we wanted to visit the Kennedy Space centre the next day and asked where we could buy tickets with transport. We explained we only had the following day in Orlando before we were moving on. Well apparently it was our lucky day because he could sell us tickets. And as we were first time visitors to Orlando and seniors we could save a hefty 50 per cent. Off season so this didn't unduly surprise me. None the wiser we paid for the tickets and were told we would be collected from our hotel the next morning. We would be taken by bus to the ticket office to collect the tickets, have a complimentary continental breakfast, and be taken to the space centre. NO MENTION OF A 90 MINUTE TIME SHARE SALES TALK. Next morning a bus arrived and took two other unsuspecting couples. We met them later and they confirmed were duped as well. To cut a long story short We were lied to by the person at the information desk. To get discounted tickets we would have had to endure five hours at a hotel listening to a sales pitch and queueing for tickets. The tickets would have been redeemable at another place and there was never any transport to the Space Centre. Getting my money back was difficult and I had to be very firm with one of the organisers managers. This is apparently very common in Orlando so be very careful. If you have half a day to lose and you are strong enough to resist pressure sales then you might get a bargain. I complained to the on duty hotel manger at the Rosen Inn. He was sympathetic and explained that as private companies rent the space it had nothing to do with the hotel. Really!! As far as the hotel experience itself. The rooms were adequate but a little dated. I found a large clump of human hair in the shower/bath. I mentioned this to the reception desk staff who promised to get it cleaned. The cleaner arrived the next morning as we were leaving the room but still didn't clean the hair away. Read less
