The staff were all very friendly. Especially Dylan at the concierge who was very helpful with recommendations. The hotel is very close to Universal parks and Seaworld. The breakfast in the morning left us both ready for sightseeing and was delicious.

However there were at least 3 dogs staying in rooms near us and you could hear them bark/whine off and on the whole stay. Not sure if 3rd floor happens to be pet floor or just luck of the draw. We asked about moving and were only offered a 1 king bed room as an alternative, but there were 4 of us, so obviously wouldn’t work. Our room was not ready at check in time and we had an event to be at and staff was not accommodating or even friendly about it. Long lines for any food or coffee and everything except ice cream and pizza slice and drink deal was pricy. Be prepared for a long walk to conference rooms or parking and parking recently changed to an outside company and staff no help with how to set it up, etc. we were told we would get half off parking for our conference (I even have it in writing) and I told them at check in and was assured “app” would connect it to our reservation and give us the discount, but it did not and haven’t been able to get anyone to help us fix it. We arrived at this beautiful hotel for our Christmas break on 19th December. We usually stay at one of the other Rosens but decided to treat ourselves to an upgrade for Christmas. The hotel public areas are beautiful; amazing Christmas decorations and staff were very welcoming. Our room was fairly dated but as we only use the hotel as a base, we were ok with that. A few days later however, we were informed that a conference was to take place for a few days. Well, a football conference followed by a cheerleading event has completed ruined our holiday. Be aware - as with previous reviews, if this hotel is hosting a conference and you are not part of it, you are not important. Football fans and cheerleaders swarm like ants everywhere. The hotel feels unsafe and far too busy. It is impossible to park within a km of the hotel. The noise is something else. Teenagers running up and down the corridors at all hours, shouting and swearing. As I write this, a group of them are playing volleyball outside of our room, screaming at the top of their voices, at almost midnight. If you complain to the management, they don’t want to know, just repeat that they have a conference ongoing and there is nothing they can do. Like I said, unimportant. The fact that we have also paid to stay here is irrelevant. After a really lovely start to our two weeks here, we definitely will not be choosing to stay here again unfortunately. Read less

It may be unfair on my part to give the resort such a low rating since the resort itself deserves a 5. Booked trip through trip advisor and tried to modify the dates beforehand. Was told I had to wait till I checked in which was not true. Spoke with the resort and their lack of support on this issue was unacceptable

Was going to arrive at Rosen Shingle Creek for an event but had to cancel because of illness the intended day of travel. This fell inside the 5 day cancellation policy, but I called to cancel and appeal to the reservations desk's decency that in the time of a global pandemic, they'd be a little more understanding when unexpected illness interfered with travel plans. After all illnesses don't pay attention to itineraries. No such luck. The reservations desk checked with management who said that cancellations had to be outside of 5 days, no exceptions. Icing on the cake was being told to have an awesome day after being notified I'd be charged for the room anyway. Read less
