Let me start by saying that the staff was wonderful. Just pleasant and professional. The hotel itself is pretty dated and lacking in some room comforts. But my biggest problem with this hotel is the additional charges. Others have mentioned the $5 destination fee. That's just a money grab. But my biggest problem with this hotel is the additional charges. Others have mentioned the $5 destination fee. That's just a money grab. To be fair they give you a $5 voucher to be used on food. As we checked out we got a beverage from the "shop" by the check-in desk. After drinking it we saw that the drink was beyond its expiration date. The parking fee is outrageous. It is $22 to park outside on a surface lot. And, on top of that, you pay taxes on that $22. When booking always make sure to check the parking rate and consider that when choosing. Before we left I wrote a note in my phone... "Avoid Courtyards." This experience has not only turned me off to this hotel (we will not stay again) but to the entire Courtyard brand. Read less

Many thanks to the girl who checked us in on the 1st October (apologies did not get name but lovely girl)Transfer shuttle is ok, goes to Disney, Disney Springs and the Outlets but don't go to Universal Studios so bear that in mind. Drinks and food in hotel is bit more expensive, however outside opposite 24 hr gift shop is Connections which has a decent range of take away food to eat in or take out at more reasonable prices. If you go out the hotel I'd definitely recommend Millers Ale House and Longhorn Steakhouse which are both a short Uber or drive away. Hotel grounds and pool area were spotless. Rooms spacious with 2 queen size beds with fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful with unlimited choice from 6.30 -1100, Jose was really great and hard worker. Housekeeping comes daily to a great standard. Location is on top of Disney but bit further out from Universal, although plenty of amenities nearby including Bahama Breeze Caribbean restaurant and BJ Brewhouse which did a great brisket burger. My wife is really fussy and had no complaints whatsoever, we would definitely recommend and would certainly return. Thank you to all the staff for a memorable stay. Read less

I am so sick from being in that hotel room. Room smelled of mold and mildew, pillows were mildewy. I asked for new pillows which took forever to get, half of the new ones smelled the same and were damp. Sometimes our sheets would feel wet from the humidity. I asked for new pillows which took forever to get, half of the new ones smelled the same and were damp. Sometimes our sheets would feel wet from the humidity. Weird air conditioning machine outside the elevators on our floor. Front desk not very friendly. Bathroom was clean but looked very old and something was weird with the tub. The tub had a bump in the middle of it. There was no safe in the room and the refrigerator didn't work. I would never ever stay here again, and never recommend this place to anyone. I probably should had asked for compensation. Read less

Very friendly and accommodating staff! I traveled solo and was initially put on the 1st floor. I didn't realize there was a balcony until I got to the room. I didn't feel comfortable with that and called down to request a room on a higher floor. José, from the front desk, brought me my new room key and happily escorted me to my new room! This,… Read more

I didn't feel comfortable with that and called down to request a room on a higher floor. José, from the front desk, brought me my new room key and happily escorted me to my new room! This, combined with the fact that you need your room key card to enter the buildings and use the elevator made me feel safe. There are some areas that could use some updates, but nothing was dirty or gross. Read less

Do not hesitate and run as fast as you can, AWAY from this hotel!! The condition of this hotel is not worthy of the Marriott label. It is in such rough condition. Stained, ripped carpet throughout the entire building!! Upon entry you are treated with a dingy, smoke infested odor that has been treated with some kind of aromatic aroma. The attempt to layer the scents are not working; it’s quite overpowering and nauseating. The images online are easily 15 years old. The entire complex, Marriott Village is dated. Do not be fooled by the play on words; village implying amenities that one would like to enjoy and experience. It’s truly more like a dying shopping mall. The rooms, I’ve experienced 2 during this stay. The 1st was so badly consumed with the smell of smoke it left me unable to breathe and talk without choking. The 2nd room was an improvement simply because the smell of smoke was not so heavily concentrated. The doors of both rooms do not work properly. The locking mechanisms have to be toyed with in order to securely close the door. The bath tub does not drain. The shower curtain does not provide adequate protection from water spraying onto the tiled floor. The towels are so thin and old. The bed linens are minimal. The hotel has minimal items for purchase and the onsite food options are less than desirable. Maintenance paints hallway walls after 9:00 PM— the hallways on the actual room floors, not talking about the general meeting spaces of the hotel like the ground/lobby floor. This happened on the room floors after 9:00 pm!!! Smelling paint fumes is not ideal after a long day, why would you allow this??!!!! The lobby/ground floor does have a work space or lounge area. The furniture is really dirty. I mean dirty!!! So why did I come here? Why am I still here? We are here for a work conference and this is the lodging that has been contracted for us. It has already been paid for and the person I’m traveling with is being stubborn and refuses to leave and incur out of pocket expenses for this work trip. The pool situation is ….gross!! The pool and hot tub have not been maintained and it is obvious!! I would imagine at one time, 20 years ago, this hotel and the Marriott Village was once decent. Today- it is not!! Save your money and try an Econo Lodge or maybe even Red Roof Inn for a more upgraded, elevated experience. For reference, I generally stay at a Hampton Inn and generally choose a Marriott property for a nicer experience. This hotel and its village, is like a 1980s refurbishment project gone bad. Do yourself a favor, and do not choose this hotel for your vacation. This review is honest and directly related to my current experience. If the price point is $50 per night, I would say you get what you paid for. If the price point is $99 per night, no way!!! Read less
