Fairfield Inn - In Marriott Village at Lake Buena Vista

The hotel

The Marriott Village is a wonderful combination of 3 quality hotels in 1 resort, giving you the benefit of facilities at all 3 hotels for 1 great price! Each hotel gives you a different experience, with the Fairfield Inn providing a quality stay for those looking for great value. And If somebody was to offer you a hotel that provides complimentary breakfast and is just 3 minutes drive from Walt Disney World, with a complimentary shuttle to drop you to the door, it would sound too good to be true. It’s not – it’s here! The bunk beds in the family suites will be a hit with the kids, as will the games room and outdoor pool for those moments when you’re not out exploring in the parks. The superb dining and entertainment choices of Downtown Disney are only minutes away,  and it’s not just great for Disney, you're close to all the attractions on International Drive and a short hop from the Orlando outlets.

For me, this is below expectations because there were few choices. The employees were just there continuously mopping the bar but did not refill the food. We had to ask them twice for 2 different items. During our trip we also stayed at the Fairfield Flamingo, they had a much better breakfast, they had bacon. The workers in the breakfast area were always checking the food and refilling to full. Compare to the workers in this hotel, they know how to fooling people. The workers at Flamingo, after breakfast hour, I saw them clean the area by wiping down tables and vacuuming. They did a real job and work hard. These two hotels had same price. So this hotel is very basic and I will think twice if I decide to come back next time. Read less

For a recent friend's wedding, one of the selected hotels was the Fairfield Inn, which is part of the Marriott Village with two other hotels in the same family. The trio of hotels sits right across the highway from the main entrance to Disney World, so this is a great location for a quick drive or ride share to this and other parks. There are also many restaurants, shopping opportunities, and nightlife offerings nearby (but driving is necessary). The hotels sit behind a gate. As a guest of any one, you can use the pools and amenities of the other two; each has their pros and cons. This review is only for the Fairfield. I can honestly say I had a mixed experience here, but I'm leaning more toward the positive. Check in was a breeze; friendly desk agent and early check-in (my flight arrived at 7am) with no extra fees. The room was ready, clean, and all we needed for our stay. They had the normal things: large bottles of shower soaps, iron and board, mini-fridge, and plenty of clean towels. It's a basic no-frills hotel, you're paying for what you're getting. We had a view of the highway with ceaseless traffic, you may want to request a pool view if you want quiet. The hotel itself offers a business center, gym, and large breakfast area with included breakfast bar (oatmeal, pastries, cereal, waffle bar, hot eggs and meat). I only visited the breakfast one day and it was ridiculously busy with kids (see: messy). The coffee shops and convenience stores have basic things and are overpriced - go to the convenience store across the street to save a little money. The highlight for me was the pool area: large pool of varying depths, hot tub, and plenty of seating options both in the sun and shade. It's so hot and humid here it was hard to be out during the day, but it's also open until 10pm so you can enjoy after dark. Prices are super reasonable as well; this is a hotel for families or couples looking to come to the parks on a budget. This is the kind of place I like to stay - no wasted money on a room you're only sleeping in. The courtyard outside of the hotel near the commissary is a great place to enjoy the evening air, with playground, giant chess set, and tables/chairs. Cons: the main issue was with the staff and hotel "rules" (never in my life has a hotel had "rules" for guests). One was, the breakfast seating area is "closed" outside of breakfast hours, but there are no signs saying this. Only hotel employees saying so. With this closed, there is no where else to sit outside of being in rooms. The other issue was the issues with the key cards constantly not working (and no, I kept them away from my phone, etc.). We also had issues with checkout, billing, and any information about the wedding party block and welcome packet. It didn't matter who I talked to, no one working there seemed to know much about working there. One safety issue: the elevators seem to need a refresh or maintenance. If you aren't picky about amenities, this is a convenient place to stay with its own Disney Parks shuttle. It's about a 30 min drive from the airport with plenty of dining choices nearby. Read less

I booked this hotel for a four day trio to Disney. Firstly I have to say that Fairfield Inn for me was a very quiet, cleanly, and convenient hotel in its distance from the parks. My room had a lovely view of the pool surrounded by palm trees. The staff is helpful and friendly. They also accept debit cards as payment. These are the good points. At the top of the bad points is the two boxes of open condoms I discovered in the drawer of my night table. Then there is the fact I was disturbed twice my first night. Once by a maintenance person who seemed to think I put in an order to fix a broken light which I had not, and a second time by hotel staff who knocked on my door because they thought the room was empty and had no knowledge of my occupying it. Logic which I still fail to grasp. I also found it frustrating that there is no soda machine on site and once the shops in the complex are closed there are no other options available. The shuttle situation is somewhat of a mess as the only option fairfield gives to reserve the shuttle is to scan a QR code and make a reservation online. Then you are to take a screenshot of the confirmation site after you reserve. I came to find out that the shuttle drivers actually HATE this method and require a paper reciept so that they can know just how many people will be on the shuttle. Without this they have no way of knowing and cannot gauarantee you a spot on the bus. The only way to get this reciept is to shcedule the shuttle at the hotel across from fairfield 24 hours in advance which isn't at all possible if you are spending time in the parks and need the shuttle for the next day. Lastly the bill they sent to my email was 103 pages of garbled letters and numbers leaving me with no way to refference what I had actually been charged. I called the Hotel about this issue and they said they would email another folio. That one was the same mess of numbers and letters but this time slightly reduced to only 102 pages. After this I gave up on trying to help people do their job. I happen to be a Marriot Bonvoy memeber as well and this was the best service they could offer as far as a comprehensive bill. In summary I would say I am reluctantly satisfied with my stay at Fairfield. Beware however of suprises in your dressers and night tables. Especially if you have children who are liable to find a box of condoms and want to know all about them. Read less
