Holiday Inn Resort Lake Buena Vista

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Resort Lake Buena Vista for 20 nights as a family of 4 2 adults 2 boys aged 5 and 8. On arrival we checked in and got a pool view room as we had requested through virgin holidays. We did have to pay a $20 payment but it was returned to our card. After changing hotels after reading bad reviews on our previous one my husband was reluctant,but this soon changed. We entered our room 370 and it was huge 2 big queen very comfortable beds a soft or firm pillow to choose from. Bathroom was great size shower was lovely and quite powerful, cold water in sink didn't really get cold. We had microwave, good sized fridge and coffee machine which you can just use for a cuppa, although we did have to request a new one as it didn't heat up as good. Coffee cups and plastic cups, coffee, some decaf, tea (sometimes) green tea pods provided. They have no kettles. TV was ok lots of things repeated apart from the weather. Plenty of plugs. Aircon is loudish but you learn to live with it and welcomed after the heat. Good safe but not many coathangers in the closet but the room has so much space with a desk and chair. Pool.... Great for the kids with games mostly every hour they win prizes too. Busy at weekends and a lot of beds without shade but have tables with umbrellas when you can get one. 2 hot tubs 1 cool 1 very hot. Busy in the evenings after park's. Bar has a happy hour between 4-7 not much off we just took our own down by pool. Pina coladas are nice but diff most times. Kids liked the arcade never went in the cinema. We visited Applebee's the ajoined restaurant lots of times,kids eat free with vouchers from the hotel. Food was good (hit and miss a couple of times but mostly good) can be used breakfast lunch and dinner. Saved us a lot. Food in the US has gone expensive but alcohol is dearer but Applebee's do a mega pint for $5.99. Housekeeping.... this is the star that was lost I'm afraid. Yes they come everyday (mostly) make beds, leave towels and fresh coffee and cups. But we had to request a hoover in the room as it was never done, had to request a bed change, bathroom was NEVER wiped down!! Which was very disappointing. All in all we had a great holiday few restaurants around to enjoy and shuttle bus is brilliant (the guy with the beard is fab) gets roadrage so makes it an enjoyable ride to the park which take about 10 mins if foing to disney( drops off at Epcot or stay on and they take you to Hollywood studios and Animal Kingdom) Read less

Cleanliness of the rooms is of a very poor standard - housekeeping never wiped surfaces or vacuumed, only seemed to change towels and make beds and even that wasn’t daily! Following numerous complaints at the front desk- nothing was done. If anything - the basic housekeeping got worse (I feel in response to the complaints). Housekeeping appears non existent- You have to request to get your room vacuumed - bearing in mind our stay was for 16 nights, which is absolutely gross. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to do this at least once a week minimum! There was a cockroach in our room, which prompted the need for cleans but this still was not taken seriously or even acknowledged when speaking to the front desk. Front desk just apologise but never escalate or if they do, housekeeping must find it funny by refusing. This is the worst hotel I have stayed at in Lake Buena Vista for cleanliness-avoid! It is not much to ask to hoover a room/ sanitise surfaces at least ONCE a week minimum. Housekeeping needs a full rethink. I was reluctant to review but as I am yet to receive the 2 nights stay reimbursement I was promised as an apology or receive a reply via email to follow this up, I would appreciate this please. Wonderful holiday at the Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Lake Buena Vista. Great hotel for families. We enjoyed the pool area, and the Kids Suite accommodation was perfect for us. Particular mention to Dan who brilliantly coordinated entertainment for the kids at the pool, and Danny and Ryan at reception who were super helpful during our stay. Huge thanks to them as well as all the other staff who help make this hotel a success. We will definitely return to this hotel in the future. Read less

This hotel never lets me down. It’s perfectly located just outside the Disney entrance to all 6 parks and Disney springs, Seaworld a short drive away and the outlet shops a short walk away. The front desk team are AMAZING. Danny, Fabian, Alison, Amanda and Dorris to name a few, always on hand to get something you may need, answer questions and help out in any way they can. Nothing is too much trouble for any of them. Dan S you might find at the pool entertaining the children with pool games and magic. (Such a shame the lovely young man called Jesus is no longer there, as he was fantastic with the children) The housekeeping team are great and do a superb job on the rooms keeping them clean and tidy. The most comfortable beds and pillows too. There really is no need to look around at other hotels when this hotel has it all at a reasonable price ! Definitely recommend. Definitely be returning.
