The hotel

There are far too many facilities at this marvellous 1,500-acre resort to detail here. The swimming pool is the kind that has kids gasping with wonder-waterfalls, grottos, whirlpools and a 124-ft long water slide tower, new water jet splash zone and rock climbing areas for kids creates an aqueous wonderland; and on the lake, you can practice kayaking, canoeing or just simply pedal away toward the sunset, there is even a white sand beach for those waiting to sit back and relax, and 45 holes of top golf, with a pitch 'n' putt for non-golfers to enjoy. There are some great restaurants and bars. The new pool bar, On the Rock, is located by Lake Windsong, offering views of the lake and the pool, four 60" TVs, full service bar and food service options. Enjoy Key West style seafood and steaks at Hemingways. Be one of the first to enjoy their new recreational features: New Water slide, Water Jet Splash zone, rock climbing for kids and the pool bar!

Was there for a business trip and loved every aspect- food was delicious, room was perfect and the property is gorgeous. So many ways to have fun you don’t need to go to parks:). I’ll be back with my family

Currently staying here for a few nights after a Disney cruise and am frankly pretty underwhelmed. We used extra reward points (over 33% more) for the Hyatt club level rooms and while the hotel sounds good on paper it's lacking the details you'd expect of a good resort. Pros: - allowed us to check in a few hours early so our 2 year old could nap in the afternoon - nice looking grounds and lobby - parrot in the lobby - most activities are included in resort fee like bike rentals and canoes - comfortable beds and spacious room - good breakfast at club level Cons: - "Heated" pool is small and cold - other unheated pools even less usable. No sloped / zero entry pool for kids that are so common now at resorts. The embassy suites at the airport had a warmer and more family friendly pool. - "fireworks" view room means the fireworks are like 5 miles away. Barely visible. - infrequent inconvenient times for Disney park transportation and Disney Springs - no maid service on our first day despite being out of the room 11-1:30 and 4:30-9. No one noticed and had to call front desk to let them know. Their first response wasn't an apology but a rather accusatory "which hours were you out of your room??" - Club level snacks underwhelming except breakfast (eg mid day snacks include just beverages and a handful of cookies). - Generally staff pretty unfriendly - Rooms are fairly large but not kid friendly. Shallow / scary looking balconies with no room for outside furniture. No separation in room (not even a desk) means early bedtimes for parents and kids. No bathtubs and the shower (which looked fairly new) was built such that the rain shower head tends to spray water into the bathroom. Toilet had very weird / loud flush such that we thought it might be broken. Overall: looked and sounded great on paper but missing the attention to detail that you'd expect from a good resort. Wouldn't stay again esp given many options in the area. Read less

We just enjoyed a great family stay at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. As many have noted, it's a beautiful hotel (a BIG hotel) with lovely landscaping. The lobby is stunning (with Merlot as official bird greeter), the room clean and spacious, the amenities varied and plentiful, the food/drink overall very good--with accommodating and friendly service (especially Simona and Terri in the lobby lounge, Trellises)! The only disappointment was the fact that the gorgeous main pool was too cold to enjoy being in. Beautiful to gaze it, clutchingly cold to experience. If/when they fix that somewhat glaring flaw, I'm not sure we would ever stay anywhere else in the area, all other things like price being equal. Otherwise, we'd gladly stay here again! Read less

Great visit to Orlando and the Hyatt was the icing on the cake. Great hotel and resort. Pools, spa and excellent restaurants. Free shuttles to and from Disney complete a great package. Upgrade to Club and free breakfast and evening cocktails. Great value for money.
