I was told that I couldn't wear prescription sunglasses on the slide "for my safety" to not disappoint my son, I squinted and staggered up the stairs and down the slide several times which was... Safer? I talked to a few people and nobody could give me an answer about this policy or what scenario would lead sunglasses to be dangerous. I also found the thumping base around the pool area very annoying, especially first thing in the morning. Prices for everything here including parking and restaurants are astronomical, but I think that's par for the course around the Disney area. Most things were fine at this place, a few items tainted my experience. Read less

This is probably our 3rd stay at the Orlando World Center Marriott. We had 2 back to back reservations at the hotel (both Suite rooms). We loved the hotel, the facilities, the arcade, the pools, and the newly opened water slides. There were many great people working at the hotel who went above and beyond and provided great service. The breakfast was great, reasonably priced. The lady who checked us in for our second reservation, patiently explained all facilities and amenities available to us. However, the checkout experience both times was really unpleasant and has ensured that we will never return to this property and neither will we recommend it to anyone else. We were checked out by the Assistant Front Desk Manager Nicholas Bayala. Here is where we ran into problems: 1) We checked out of our first Suite on 11/21. We noticed on the bill that we had been charged for both Valet and Self-parking. When asked how was that possible since we only did Valet, Nicholas apologized and removed the charge for self parking. 2) When making the reservation we had clearly specified that the room (which accommodates 6 people per the website) will be occupied by 2 adults and 1 child. We noticed an "extra person" charge for nearly $50 per night. When asked what this was, we were told that since we had more than 2 adults (which we did not!!!) we were charged extra. We were told this charge was clearly stated on the resort website. When we said we were only 2 adults and 1 child Nicholas said he would waive the charge as a favor to us 3) I then went and checked the entire website for Orlando World Center Marriott. I could not find a mention for this "extra person" charge on any page. Not when I click to make a reservation, not on the main website, not on the accommodations page, no mention of this charge at all!!! 4) We checked out of our second reservation Suite on 11/23. This time the room was for 3 adults and 1 child. Something we had clearly stated when we booked the room. The room is meant for many more adults than we had in our party. Again we find a charge for extra person for $50 per night. 5) We told Nicholas that: (a) No where on their website is there a mention of this charge (b) The people in our party (total of 4) were well below what the room accommodates (c) There was no mention of this charge on our reservation confirmation or in our reservation email 5) Nicholas proceeded to tell us that "I am not calling you liars" but the charge is clearly mentioned on the website. When asked to show us where it is mentioned HE COULD NOT FIND IT!!! And then had the gall to tell us that I don't have to show you where it is mentioned and it can be charged to us 6) When asked if he could give us in writing that we are disputing this charge and that he is still putting it on the bill so that we can dispute it later with Marriott, he refused and then decided to take the charge off the bill!!!! This more than anything left a bad taste! Why charge us for something which was not clearly stated at the time we made the reservation! Why then state it is clearly highlighted on your website when it is not!! And then why proceed to call us liars when we said its not on your website and then fail to find it yourself!!!! We usually stay more than 30 nights each year at a Marriott hotel. Never I have ever refused to pay a charge when it was clearly mentioned upfront. This was the worst stay ever - thanks solely to the checkout experience handled by Nicholas! It spoiled our Thanksgiving and I did not appreciate being called a liar after showing such loyalty to Marriott! Another thing: On the third day of our stay, our room was not cleaned. I called and was told they provide service every second day. Clearly which is not true - because our room was cleaned on the 1st and 2nd day. On no day was the floor vacuumed. It was really dirty and I could see hair, dirt on the floor. In our second suite (which had 2 bathrooms) the second bathroom was not even cleaned. When we came back, the towels were still on the floor, and the trash (with leftover food) was still full. Having stayed at Marriott hotels on many occasions and as loyal customers who often have no cause for complaint, this stay was disappointing. Read less

Multiple restaurants, The Pantry which is basically a convenience store, multiple shops, multiple pools, workout center, mini golf, regular golf, running/walking trail, laundry room, and more. Ate at three of the restaurants and they were all good. The Pantry is overpriced and the hot food options are blah. This is a “resort” so everything is twice as expensive as it should be, but that’s what resorts are all about. Came here for my wife’s work conference. Keep in mind, this is a resort with water park so expect lots of kids. I was still able to relax. Disney Springs is across the street just a mile away. Need to take a ride share as the 1 mile is not walkable due to freeways. Overall this place had everything, had friendly staff, clean everything and was relaxing. Would recommend. Read less

Huge hotel. Grounds are kept clean and nice. Great pool area. Really enjoyed having a running trail that was easy to follow. Beds were comfortable and rooms were very clean. Quiet as well. Close to Disney and affordable. Would stay here again.

We've been coming to the Marriott resort for many years and sadly its lost its charm somewhat. We understand over the years that times change and some changes are good but one thing that we were really sadden by was the Halloween put on for the children. In previous times, perhaps before Covid, there were kid's stations around the whole of the Marriott pool areas, in reception and even at Royal Palms and Sabel Palms there were things to do or find. The stations weren't just about collecting sweets, you could get some basic/small toys and do activities from colouring to making potions and slime so it was a really good event that made you explore the whole campus, meet other families, etc. Sadly this time, Marriott decided the whole event should be enclosed to their turf area at the main pool so it lead to a very short, have some sweets from 3 little stations, pretty much 30 paces from each other and that was it. They did put on some self play games which was a nice touch but even then there was no colouring or creativity side to it. It felt very much "We need to keep kids in one area, must not disturb the corporate side, dumb it down and keep it within cost". For us, thats a biggy, our children our still young enough to love Halloween but Marriott didn't deliver this time round. For those going as a family: This place is expensive and you'll get charged for pretty much everything including parking, falls pool (has lazy river and water shoots), gaming room, wifi, etc so when you book be mindful that the cost can escalate quickly. The other thing to mention is breakfast buffet is nice but insanely expensive for a family and I wouldn't say you get your money's worth, some of the servers are useless and slow this time round which we've never had. Its a good place to stay though if you have the money, always clean and perfectly positioned to Disney and other parks. Read less
