The hotel

A statement hotel, this glass column stretches far above neighbouring high rises to give unrivalled views over Atlanta through its floor-to-ceiling windows. To top it all off, literally, it’s capped with The Sun Dial, a three-tiered venue featuring a revolving restaurant, rotating cocktail lounge, and observatory floor with 360-degree views, all reached by an external glass elevator that scales the glazed cylinder in just 85 seconds. Far below, on the 11th floor, the indoor pool’s just as spectacular, with its curved glass roof folding away to let in the sun on hot Atlanta days. To celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2016, the Westin Peachtree Plaza was treated to a $70 million renovation, adding extras like BikeWESTIN cycles, and turning this statuesque pillar into one of downtown Atlanta’s most up-to-date pads.

Great location and views from high floors, but after that it is one disappointment after another. Extremely dirty hotel. I stayed 4 nights/5 days on the 54th floor upon getting off the elevator to my room there was a dirty Q-tip right in front of the elevator, a used razor blade and other garbage and debris, etc. these items were there the entire length of my stay. Each day I would walk by the room attendants and see them walk by these items as if they didn’t see them. There were full garbage bags often left outside my room for hours as well as debris outside more door on the carpet that looked like it had not been vacuumed in months. On checkout day I had a late checkout and the room attendant still came and knocked on my door every 30 mins starting at 8:50am. I reminded her, but she kept knocking. I had just finished a week long conference and was looking forward to catching up on sleep… so much for that. My room was tired, with stains all over furniture, rips in duvet etc. from a sustainably stand point, there were plastics wrapped in more plastic and it appeared the recycling bin just got emptied into the garbage which is very sad. Definitely a disappointing experience at this former iconic Westin which has definitely seen better days. Read less

Front desk staff was amazing! Based on my positive experience, I would stay at this location again! I was originally booked for a double, but needed a larger room to accommodate an unplanned traveling companion. Staff was amazing! Thank you Westin Peachtree!

The hotel is pretty old - no bedside power or charging sockets for mobile devices, the cover of the chair in my room has worn off, complicated air-con control panel, broken ice machine on my floor, TV signals often got shut off due to network issues, etc. The most frustrating experiences were with the front desk staff. Checking-in was fine, but when later I asked for a late check-out of 2pm and went to downstairs reception, it took quite an explanation for the front desk staff to understand that they need to re-do my keycards, so that I could get in my room after 12pm. I am an Platinum member so the faster Internet option should be free. However the charge appeared on my statement sent by email. I wanted to fix this problem and went to reception to check out. There is not a long line at the Bonvoy desk, but it took so long for the staff to deal with any single customer. I timed and it typically took up to 10 minutes for one guest. I do not know whether that was because of unsophisticated customers or incompetent hotel staff. You could see them discussing/changing payment cards, engaging in small talks, but just could not get things done and move the line. They seem to be blind to the frustration of guests who were waiting in line. There is one more computer there, but they just do not man it. When finally it was my turn, the agent again took 2 minutes just to load up the account info at her computer. She told me that she reversed the charge and printed a paper statement without showing it. However it has been 5 days now the charge is still on my credit card without any entry of refund. I actually missed my flight due to dealing with this incorrect charge and the long waiting time at check-out. One of the worst Marriott experience. Read less

The Westin Peachtree Plaza, Atlanta is a cool place to stay in the middle of everything. I really like the views and everything that they have available here. The staff here is very friendly and makes sure that you have everything that you need for the best stay.
