The Westin Peachtree Plaza

Atlanta, Georgia

The hotel

A statement hotel, this glass column stretches far above neighbouring high rises to give unrivalled views over Atlanta through its floor-to-ceiling windows. To top it all off, literally, it’s capped with The Sun Dial, a three-tiered venue featuring a revolving restaurant, rotating cocktail lounge, and observatory floor with 360-degree views, all reached by an external glass elevator that scales the glazed cylinder in just 85 seconds. Far below, on the 11th floor, the indoor pool’s just as spectacular, with its curved glass roof folding away to let in the sun on hot Atlanta days. To celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2016, the Westin Peachtree Plaza was treated to a $70 million renovation, adding extras like BikeWESTIN cycles, and turning this statuesque pillar into one of downtown Atlanta’s most up-to-date pads.

The place is over booked, it took them hours and hours to get us a room in the first place, we were supposed to get an upgrade because our points and they gave us their simple room. It takes you more than 10 min to get an elevator every time you tried. We won’t come again. Very disappointed, we are Westin lovers but this was a terrible experience. Read less

THEFT & HARASSMENT @ Westin Peachtree Marriott in Atlanta, GA. I stayed at the Westin Peachtree for work for an EMS (Emergency Medical Services) Conference a couple weeks ago. As a loyal customer & Titanium Marriott member, the customer service, management, and security at Westin Peachtree has been more than disappointing. I locked a wallet, $300 cash and sunglasses inside the safe in my room. In the evening, I noticed the safe was open and all the contents were missing (approx. $2100 in value). I immediately spoke with the manager on duty. She called security and I was told they were “looking into it.” The security supervisor (Ernst) and Michael (security guard) was looking into the log of who entered the room during the day. Shortly after this, I received a phone call from Security. He said he wanted to let me know right away that housekeeping did enter and exit my room at 4:25pm to 4:33pm. My room was not made up, I had no extra towels, and there was no sign anyone was in there except the theft. Michael apologized and said we will talk about resolution with the supervisor, but he wanted me to know someone was indeed in my room. We spoke for 7 minutes. Security calls me back, stating he made a mistake, apologized and stated no one entered my room. I asked additional questions as to why the change in story, and what those marks on my door log at those times mean. I spoke with the MOD, supervisor and security guard on duty after this. Ernst, the security supervisor, was trying to coerce me into going into a locked room with him in the lobby. He said the only way I can see the report of who entered my room was if I go into the room with him “alone.” I said absolutely NOT, I am not going anywhere alone with you. He said “your coworkers can still see you through the glass.” The safety concern due to theft and harassment by a security guard could not be higher here. The Atlanta PD were called; however, no one came. I eventually filed a police report with an officer over the phone. The manager asked if she could move me to a different room. I asked her, “If Westin is UNABLE to tell me who enters my room and when, this is not a safe environment and I am not staying here.” She said, “I cannot do that. Ok.” I checked out of my hotel room and went to stay at an alternative hotel. At this time, the personnel at Westin Peachtree are denying the theft and will not address the harassment by the security guard. The Director of Sales at Westin Peachtree told me I need to have “patience.” I could not be more disappointed and let down by Marriott right now. Read less

We are staying on the 65th floor and there is a constant noise that sounds like a cell phone vibrating…starts and stops constantly! Not just during the day but it’s 10:30 pm and it’s still happening! Rooms are worn, carpet needs to be replaced, etc…

Unfortunately I did not have a good stay here. There were queues and long waits at reception at several points during the day. The room was not clean, there was dust and dirt around the furnishings, and the TV remote was grubby, despite seeing a video on the TV of the hotel showcasing their improved cleaning procedures during Covid. I didn’t sleep well, the walls are thin and noise from the corridors and upstairs rooms keep you awake. The ‘cooling unit’ which is not a fridge, was also leaking. I’ve staid at several Westin hotels, and the Westin Atlanta does not live up to the standards of the others. Read less
