The Westin Peachtree Plaza

Atlanta, Georgia

The hotel

A statement hotel, this glass column stretches far above neighbouring high rises to give unrivalled views over Atlanta through its floor-to-ceiling windows. To top it all off, literally, it’s capped with The Sun Dial, a three-tiered venue featuring a revolving restaurant, rotating cocktail lounge, and observatory floor with 360-degree views, all reached by an external glass elevator that scales the glazed cylinder in just 85 seconds. Far below, on the 11th floor, the indoor pool’s just as spectacular, with its curved glass roof folding away to let in the sun on hot Atlanta days. To celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2016, the Westin Peachtree Plaza was treated to a $70 million renovation, adding extras like BikeWESTIN cycles, and turning this statuesque pillar into one of downtown Atlanta’s most up-to-date pads.

I’m completely disappointed with this Westin!!! The valet is overpriced at 49 per night, the refrigerator in the room is not working, there were only 3 towels in the room, the bar food was overcooked … and it does not end there. After a long days of sightseeing throughout the download area, we come back to the room and the room was not serviced. The lady at Service Express tells me that I had to request it. No one at checkin informed us that we had to request the service to organize the room. I’m complete shocked at the lack of service and cleanliness of the hotel. They also force everyone to enter they one entrance… all the other doors are closed. Read less

The window was floor to ceiling and very wide so the view was almost panoramic. There is a small rerigerator. That's pretty much the good of the room. The walls were pain chipped and the bathroom was most likely made for a gnome. There is no housekeeping at the moment unless you ask for it. You have to ask for towels, coffee, cups, etc when you need it. Location wise it is good as its near the attractions mentioned. There are many restaurants nearby but unfortunately many are closed. There is a Starbucks on site, a cafe for breakfast. A rather expensive restaurant is on a high level of the hotel but we did not go to it. I found the staff friendly and helpful, Read less

We visited this hotel at the end of may. Room was horribly dirty. Staff was unpleasant. Tried to file a complaint with Mariot directly no one ever picks up. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. GM refused to meet with us on several occasions. The rooms were so unkept that we slept on the floor. There was a human feces stain on one of the mattresses, the other mattress had a moldy comforter. Pictures show the mold on the desks, the layer of dust that covered everything, the moldy sheets. The toothpaste on the walls the clump of hair on the floor. It was GROSS. We ordered brownies for the children and were told 20 mins. The brownies didnt get there for an hour and a half. We went to sleep. They woke us up and delivered them. There are sooo many complaints just like this one on here. I wish I would have listened to them before I wasted a trip here. The GM seems to write thank you for letting us know. Without this we cannot grow or something to that effect. Its obvious the problem starts with him and his inability to properly run this establishment. I am filing with the BBB and writing a letter Mariot. Read less

I never write reviews especially negative ones, but I felt this was necessary after I reached out to management privately and their response was generic and not heartfelt where I’ve contemplated on sharing. To quote them exactly, “We appreciate your feedback and take it as a learning experience and hope you stay with us again”... Really? NEVER again. Being a valued bonvoy member for years and even getting married at another Marriott location I am disgusted with the customer service. Long story short, this hotel is a dump for the cost... I spoke with management upon our arrival about the lock that was ripped off the door, toilet paper holder that was hanging on by a thread, the shower missing tiles and leaking, the bed being stained, the one inch thick dust bunnies etc. and they moved us to another room which wasn’t much different. I was concerned about bed bugs and expressed why but wasn’t listened to. My husband comes to ATL frequently for work and agreed this was by far the grossest, unkept hotel he’s stayed in for the 5+ years he’s been traveling here. And for the cost it was absurd. For $200+/night I feel like we could have stayed at a much better hotel. If the Atlanta Mart wasn’t happening, we would have left the first night to go somewhere else. Please read reviews before booking. They need a big time renovation too. I regret not doing this prior to our arrival. Moving forward my husbands company will no longer be booking here which is a shame. Read less
