The hotel

Buckland is home to some of the best restaurants, shopping, art galleries and nightlife in Atlanta, an is one of the most affluent and trendy communities in the area. If this sound like you're kind of vibe, then the newly renovated, sophisticated Whitley hotel puts you in a great location to explore all of this. If you're staying on a Saturday, we highly recommend trying out 'Tipsy Tea' at the Trade Root restaurant within the hotel, where you can try gin infused teas alongside your classic finger sandwiches and teatime bakes. The restaurant and lounge is great at any time of day though, and you can even enjoy some live jazz music whilst sipping on a cocktail on select evenings. When you're not enjoying the food and drink on offer, book a treatment in the spa or relax in the sauna. And if you really want to make the most of the hotel's facilities, upgrade to a club room to enjoy the additional benefits of the lounge - hors d'oeuvres and wine in the evening?! That's a yes from us.

507 rooms and suites, across 22 floors, all with air conditioning, WiFi access*, safe, 37” flat-screen HDTV, coffee/tea making facilities, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, and bathroom amenities. 

Standard Rooms have either 1 king-size bed or 2 queen-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Deluxe Guest Rooms have either 1 king-size bed or 2 queen-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Grand Deluxe Rooms have 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 people. 

One Bedroom Executive Suites feature a separate living room with pull out sofa bed, 1 and a half bathrooms, and bedroom with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 4 people. 

Club Level Rooms and Suites include access to The Whitley Club, which includes complimentary buffet breakfast, light snacks throughout the day, hors d’oerves in the evening, and selection of wine and beer 5-9pm. 

Trade Root Restaurant & Lounge (southern-inspired cuisine, open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner). The Lounge (adjacent to the trade root, serving drinks and quick bites, with live jazz on selected evenings).

From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and accommodating! Be sure to enjoy Traderoot and ask for Antonio! He made the dining experience so special! Some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had, and I’ve had my share of fried chicken!

I booked a night for myself to recover from Thanksgiving cooking. This hotel is gorgeous and the staff are impeccable. I was particularly impressed with the waitstaff in the bar and restaurant Antonio and Jeffery Middleton were courteous and fast in delivering meals and drinks. My only complaint is that when you book, as for a floor without dogs. Unfortunately, two of the guests of my floor brought their dogs and, apparently, left them for an extended period to time while they barked. This happened as late as midnight. Also, there was some issue with the HVAC that made a loud “clunk” every couple of hours. It woke me up many times. The hotel was decorated for the holidays, and it was beautiful. Be warned that access to the hotel may by tricky depending on day day and what time your arrive. It took me 30 minutes to drive the 1/10 of a mile from Lenox Drive to Monarch with the backed up traffic. Read less

I have been traveling for work to Buckhead office for over 18months now, I have stayed at all Buckhead Marriott properties inclusive of the JW at Lennox Mall. I have to say that The Whitley is surely above all others when it comes to service and personal touch. David Rowland - Manager (whom I met before and assisted me personally with a service request) is running a very solid ship here! Cody Vaughan - Front office supervisor - always very friendly and makes me feel welcome to my home away from home! The Exec Lounge is superior to any other offered in the area and service is always impeccable from the Host. Rooms always clean and polished to Ritz Carlton level Caliber. Property décor on par with Resort level higher end Marriott properties. Food quality is excellent including the restaurant at lunge level where I have entertained a few guests on occasion. Friendly check in staff with fast check in service irrespective of time of arrival. Say hello to Chardaisy at front desk (apparently just started this past September) with her friendly smile and attitude this holiday season! Honestly, enjoy coming to work on the road and staying here. Sincerely wish the entire hotel staff and their families a blessed Holliday season ahead and look forward to my many more upcoming stays.
