The Kimpton Brice Hotel

The hotel

Combining old world graciousness with contemporary style, The Kimpton Brice Hotel is an establishment any modern-day southern belle would be proud to grace with her presence. Rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished with armoires and floor. There’s complimentary tea and coffee served in the morning and a hosted wine hour early evening – a great way to meet fellow guests and pick up a few sightseeing tips. There are restaurants aplenty to choose from close by but Pacci Italian Kitchen & Bar is very inviting with the atmosphere of a rustic country farmhouse. Settle down at lunchtime and feast on cured meats and pickled vegetables or bag a seat in the garden courtyard come sundown, admiring the stars in the night sky as you sip on a glass of something chilled.

Rooms were smelly and damp. Hotel was dirty. Our sheets and blanket were wet. We thought if we ran the ac or the heat it would help. It did not. We asked for new bedding at the front desk and they handed us sheets with holes and told us to make our own bed. After realizing we only had enough sheets to make one bed, we asked for house keeping and management and they said no one was there. After the front desk hung up on us twice, I called the IHG chain and asked for help. It was 10pm and we were beside ourselves. We could not just leave with a dog and my daughter-now 11pm. The IHG chain entered a complaint ticket but they too were told no one was onsite to help us and that the front desk did what they could by giving us sheets with holes. So we slept on a bed with no sheets or blanket in a very damp and smelly room and made up the second bed for my daughter. IHG also told us the manager would call us at 8 am. 8 am came and went and management did not contact us so we decided we could not stay there one more night. Valet was $44/night yet we had to unload our car during a storm and haul all the luggage to the rooms with no help to be found. My husband was drenched. Additionally, they had a "shed like work out room" with three machines. You can use a local fitness center but little did we know it was 8 blocks away. Described website amenities were lacking as well. When my daughter went to get hot water for her tea in the morning, the water was brown. I thought she already had tea and she said-NO it's the water. Let's not talk about the stains in the carpet or the torn floors. We went to the parking lot where our car was parked (via valet) although they said the gate was secured and locked, it was not. Upon retrieving a few items from the trunk, we noticed a bunch of dog waste in the garage and not just by our car, but in multiple places. It was literally the worse hotel I have stayed in. A big disappointment after just having stayed at The Kimpton Ashville, which was wonderful. The Manager at the Kimpton Savannah credited our stay with no real apology however, they can't compensate us for such a miserable time and for having to leave Savannah after just one night. We did not even get a chance to explore the area after having driven 16 hours to get there. So much for a nice family trip but we were so relieved to leave that hotel! Read less

Very disappointing stay. Definitely not a 4 or 5 star hotel. The day we checked in, the sheets were dirty (it looked like blood). Our room backed up to Bay Street and the road noise woke us every morning about 5 a.m. We were also near an elevator that dinged continuously. There was no carpet in the room (probably for easy clean up in an… Read more

Our room backed up to Bay Street and the road noise woke us every morning about 5 a.m. We were also near an elevator that dinged continuously. There was no carpet in the room (probably for easy clean up in an extremely dog-friendly hotel). Many of the dogs were not friendly and fought each other. The towels were threadbare and torn. Maid service was not good. They never replaced dirty glasses and one day didn't clean our room at all. Refrigerator in room was not cold. Would not recommend and would not stay again. Read less

The front desk staff and concierge were incredibly kind, helpful and even funny :) the bed was super cozy and nice view from our room to the courtyard pool. Great natural light through large windows! Happy hour every day with wine and every morning with coffee :) we enjoy the Kimpton brand very much. Thanks everyone! Savannah was a hit!

However, no coffee maker in room and hotel provided free coffee and tea only in the morning, bummer. No microwave, another bummer. We used restaurant for breakfast only. Breakfast was very good and for reasonable price. Our room was noisy during day. Night, until 5 a.m. (when trucks start going) was o.k. but substantial noise throughout day. Valet parking was provided for a hefty price. Considering the price charged and all things considered my enthusiasm was reduced to the level of 3 stars. When next time in Savannah, I will consider other hotel options. Read less

Excellent soundproofing and really good beds! Valet parking is pricey (downtown Savannah after all ) but there is street parking across the street which was very reasonable. Lovely lovely location with parks, the river and restaurants nearby. The food at paccis is good but dining late (8:00) means they appear to be closing up. Coffee needs… Read more

Lovely lovely location with parks, the river and restaurants nearby. The food at paccis is good but dining late (8:00) means they appear to be closing up. Coffee needs work—better quality and heat. Hotel and rooms are looking a bit tired. Good stay with lots of friendly doggies. Read less
