The hotel

Whether you're in the Big Easy for the music, the shops or just to get a taste of the Deep South, Aloft New Orleans Downtown is on hand to give you a great base. As you'd expect from a hotel that's got its finger firmly on the fast-paced pulse, you'll find fitness facilities, super speedy WiFi and even a grab 'n' go snack counter available around the clock, as well as a rooftop pool open morning, noon and night. The W XYZ bar offers the very best in classic and contemporary tunes as well as live acoustic sets, cocktails and draft beers, meaning you don't have to roam too far to have fun although, with Bourbon Street and the French Quarter nearby it would be rude not to spend at least one night on the tiles. Thanks to plush platform signature beds in your comfy guest room you'll have every opportunity to kick back and relax after a good day's sightseeing or naughty night out, and if you're looking for that extra touch of magic to compliment your stay in the South then Aloft certainly fits the bill.

I wish I could say check-in was seamless, but still-- even after communicating my arrival time with the front desk via the app-- I had to wait a while to be checked in due to no one being in the lobby and then a computer issue. Tech happens but I didn't even get an apology or warm greeting. Just attitude. The actual room was fine - super spacious! The Wi-Fi was slow - even the "high speed" version and the housekeeping was lazy. Half cleaning and slowly bringing towels. Check-out was also an issue as I requested late check-out the morning after I checked in, but never received confirmation. I likely won't stay again. Read less

I stayed here with a friend at the beginning of October while visiting New Orleans for four days. The hotel was lovely and very modern. All the staff were very friendly, particularly a young woman at the front desk. I am not sure of her name (it could be Chaz); she was African-American with glasses. All the staff were very friendly, particularly a young woman at the front desk. I am not sure of her name (it could be Chaz); she was African-American with glasses. She was so helpful, sorted our room and booked taxis for us. Nothing was too much trouble. It is true what they say about Southern hospitality. The location was a short walk to Bourbon Street and then on to the French Quarter. We felt very safe at the hotel and in the surrounding streets. We had a great stay and would thoroughly recommend it. Read less

The location of this hotel is perfect for a stay in NoLa. It's a few blocks from Canal and Bourbon Street and less than a mile from the French Quarter and Decatur Street. My room was very comfortable, and clean, however I do suggest you get a room with a window. Some standard rooms do not have windows. The lobby was very inviting with a pool… Read more

My room was very comfortable, and clean, however I do suggest you get a room with a window. Some standard rooms do not have windows. The lobby was very inviting with a pool table and a lovely bar area to relax. Special thanks to Ms Anitra and Ms Chyna who were the front desk staff. They were a joy! They made me and three girlfriends feel welcomed. They assisted with our needs, gave us recommendations, and very professional. If I travel to NoLa again, I'll definitely stay at this hotel again. First off, the hotel is beautiful and safe and clean. The staff especially Cheyenne was so friendly and kind and welcoming and helpful. The bar is spacious and the drink was strong. They offer food though I didn’t order anything. My room is spacious too. No critters. And I would love to come back. The hotel is walking distance to bourbon street… Read more

They offer food though I didn’t order anything. My room is spacious too. No critters. And I would love to come back. The hotel is walking distance to bourbon street and the Caesars Superdome too. One point: the door in my room sticks very very bad and it’s hard to get in and out. It’s kinda dangerous. It needs like oil or wd40 or something. Read less

Enjoyed my stay. Only issues: 1. Check out was 11am. Hotel staff knocked at 8:50am to encourage timely check out. 2. Key stopped working while in my bathing suit and hotel staff wanted me to stand in line for service.
