The hotel

Enjoy Louisiana hospitality at its finest at the Crowne Plaza New Orleans French Quarter, a hotel located right in the beating heart of New Orleans. Guest rooms ensure a comfortable base from which to explore the myriad delights this city has to offer. When you’re relaxing on the premises, however, there’s a state-of-the-art gym as well as an outdoor swimming pool, perfect for cooling off in if you’re visiting in warm weather. The real jewel in the crown at this hotel though is Dickie Brennan’s Bourbon House and Beyond. You’ve plenty of wonderful restaurants in the nearby vicinity but Dickie’s is not to be missed. Enjoy a rich array of tantalising Creole specialities, including freshly caught seafood, BBQ shrimp, thick steaks and decadent deserts. And rest assured, if it’s not in season, it’s not on the menu! Oysters are a house speciality, order a dozen at the bar whilst listening to the City’s best shuckers. It’s also a grand spot for a bit of ‘people watching’ with picture windows overlooking the action of Bourbon Street – fun you won’t be able to resist joining in with once dinner’s finished!

Cleaned and made up our room daily. Haven’t seen that in years!!! Room was very clean and spacious. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. We checked in as soon as we arrived. Hours before check in. Received a late check out so we didn’t have to leave our bags with the hotel until we had to catch our plane. Read less

Well we arrived at the hotel in Mew Orleans as part of a family road trip through states in America. The hotel valet staff where something else. Hooting and trying to chat with passing girls. We even had a county sheriffs officer standing full uniform smoking and fist bumping and joining the banter. He stood there most of the day and night, including moving in to sit in the concierge desk chatting away. I get the hotel may pay the guy as a deterrent as New Orleans as it turns out is the pits. But is it appropriate for him to be hooting at girls and smoking. 🙈 The hotel looks decent but OMG there was parties is most of the rooms. Screaming and the place stinks. We booked a suite for us and 3 kids but no sofa bed pulled out no extra bedding and took 2 visits to reception (they wouldn’t answer the phone) and a call they eventually did answer to get needing which arrived without pillows. The screaming and parties went on until hours in the morning. The outside of hotel is disgusting and is somewhere for May of the staff friends to congregate and are really really intimidating. I would avoid New Orleans as a whole. We booked 2 nights and checked out after 1. I am surprised this hotel is allowed to hold a crowne plaza name it is the worst one I have ever had the displeasure of staying in. Read less

This was my 3rd time at this property. The first time was horrible but was told it had been fully refurbished so i stayed again and I loved it. This was my first time in the side tower. I’d only ever stayed in the main tower with the pool. This tower was so confusing to find rooms. We had 3 rooms. My room was by far the biggest. I’ve never seen a hotel room with such high amazing ceilings. The other 2 rooms were longer but not wide at all. Weird placement of tv. My room seemed dirty. There were stains on the carpet and the curtains and the bath tub was filthy. The staff was always kind. They brought us a small fridge for the room and that was helpful. Read less

See photo of mold. Mold mildew unliveable room 1302 and 1040. I am a frequent loyal IHG guest level Platinum Elite member. Crowne Plaza used to be a high level property. We moved hotels and checked out early to protect our lungs from mold spores.

My faucet had a constant leak and toilet ran long and loud . We contacted maintenance but not sure they ever showed up. At least not while we were in the room. When I would change the thermostat to a comfortable 72, the room was stinky. To keep the smell down , I had to keep it at a frigid 64. There was no comforter or blanket for the bed to keep me warm. I called the front desk on two different occasions but no one ever answered the call. Asked front desk person about a restaurant we wanted To go to, but he said it didn’t exist in the French quarter. When we got to the Walgreens across the street, the clerk said she had just eaten lunch there and it was behind the Roosevelt hotel across the way. Morning of departure there was a messy spill in the lobby waiting area. Several staff persons walked by and never called anyone for a cleanup. We brought it to their attention but had to leave before any arrived to clean up. Read less
