Our room was very clean and comfortable. Pool was closed due to incoming hurricane Ida. We ended up checking out after one night to evacuate, but hotel personnel was very accommodating. Location is great if you’re looking to spend most of the time in the French quarter.

My friend and I went on a girls trip, and we where lucky enough to get a room at this Magnificent hotel! We got our room on the Priceline lottery wheel. The why that worked was we went on Priceline put in. Where we wanted to go and the area we wanted to stay. It gave us a choice to spin our luck with 3 hotels in the area and get a discount rate. We got the crown plaza, thank God!! This hotel is top of the line in everything, they are also full service (well they will be when all this Covid crap stops). They have valet parking, when you pull up they come to your car ask what room your in and how long your stay is. Then they help you with your bags on to a cart and they park you car in a structure 2 blocks down. This Service is $55 a day but worth it!! They will get stuff from your car for you if it is not a personal item, and you can get your car as much as you like. Best part is you don’t have to worry about your car at all, there is always someone from the hotel in the structure. Check in was quick and easy, and normal your bags would be taken to your room by a bell hop but not with Covid. The room was beautiful clean, (could have used another run of the vacuum but it was not bad enough to complain) and way bigger then expected. We had a king bed that was sooo cozy, with lots of pillows (just had to get an extra blanket). The room was amazingly quiet. We didn’t even get much noise from the hallway in the morning (only Hurd vacuum running one morning). They had a huge workout room with just about everything you need, even a big area for stretching and yoga. The pool is a little on the small side for some but the deck has lounge chairs and small tables for your drinks. Also has table and chairs for if you want have lunch or play cards. If you go during a busy season you may want to be to the pool early to get a chair I could see them running out. The sun hits the pool side of the roof about 11 am, so you can sleep in before hitting the water. The staff at the hotel is more then helpful with anything you need!! We never used the concierge service, but the guys behind the check in desk (Donovan) where so will to help with all kinds of stuff. The security is top notch, as two women we never felt unsafe. This hotel is on the corner of Canal Street and Burben Street, you walk out the front door and around the corner to the right and your in the hart of the party!! As far as food gose we did not have anything we didn’t like!! You must at least try The Burben house it is connected to the hotel but you have to walk around to get in because of Covid. For late night before bed snacks you must go for Willys chicken, but don’t forget to ask for Willy sauce!!! The bars are sooo much fun, for live band Drinkies is the place to be! Then for a little booty shaking look for the big ass beer place. There is also The beach to dance and have a drink. Be sure to try the frozen drinks too at least once ( I recommend Willys diesel mixed with the pink lemonade). Have fun and watch for the panhandling, they are everywhere but the hotel is good about keeping them out and away from patrons. Read less

We stayed in a suite at the Astor earlier this month. We were willing to accept an older hotel to be at Bourbon Street. What we objected to was old water damage and frayed carpeting. We tried to look out the windows but they had obviously not been cleaned for at least five years! We had friends staying at the Hyatt a block away and their room… Read more

My main objection was the size of the room. It was very small. Staying four nights was difficult in such a small room. We were told there was a bar but never found it. Luckily the Hard Rock was right across the street. Bottom line: I would fine a hotel with nicer rooms if I went back. Read less

At check in gave credit card to put the 4 night stay on and our debit card for the $240 incidental hold they said they require. Go up to our room and we were instantly hit with the strong smell of mildew and both beds were very damp. Went back to the front desk to request a different room and get up to our new room and the toilet doesn’t work. They did send someone to come fix it quickly. For the price we paid we would have expected the rooms to have at least a mini refrigerator or some more drawers for storage. The damp beds and mildew didn’t even end up being the biggest problem we had. When we checked out and we were on the way home I see instead of our credit card being charged for our stay which was clearly communicated at check in would happen it instead was charged to our debit card. I called and spoke to the front desk and the gentlemen kept talking over me as I was attempting to tell him the wrong card was charged. It was to the point I had to say,”can I speak?” He charged our credit card for the room but told me that the charge on our debit card would take 48 hours to be refunded. This is extremely inconvenient and shows there was no communication between the gentlemen that reassured us at check in the correct card would be charged. Clearly there needs to be more training done for front desk employees on how to speak to guests and how to notate guests accounts so other employees can insure the guests aren’t being inconvenienced with incorrect charges upon check out. Save your money from this over priced mediocre hotel and stay a few doors down at the Sheraton which also has a Starbucks in it but more importantly extremely nice staff. Read less
