Good experience overall. First time in New Orleans. Was shocked at the online price for a room but thankfully someone in our group was able to get us a rate of $250/night. If you want a peaceful night's rest ask for a courtyard-side room....the Bourbon Street rooms let you enjoy people watching but it gets pretty loud at night.

First, not all balconies are created equal. You MUST get a private balcony. This is critical for both security and sanity. It isn't clear if you are looking for a Bourbon street balcony by booking on the website or app. You need to contact the highly competent local staff. In a choice between one of the shared balcony rooms and any other option, just get an interior room. This is true for everyone that doesn't welcome surprise guests or early morning hours knocks at the balcony door. AND LATCH YOUR DOOR. The hotel staff will be your single greatest resource. For YEARS, they have hired well and I have never had a bad experience here only because the desk and security staff know what they are doing. If you have never traveled to New Orleans, this is one of the best options available to balance safety and excitement. Make friends, it is easy. From the moment you check in - know that everything leading up to your first contact with the desk personnel is out of their control (including how long the folks in front of you took to check in). This is when you confirm that you have a private balcony and ask about your room - get it straight downstairs (earlier arrival times offer the best flexibility). But first, introduce yourself, meet the staff, and ask for their suggestions for the night's best dinner and entertainment suggestions - they KNOW. New Orleans is a perfect blend of what you make it and all you want it to be. This will be home base and you could not find a better place than Four Points. It is central to everyone that looks for that French Quarter experience. The location is perfect, but the staff make this my first recommendation for a first time visit or a rediscovery of classic New Orleans. To be fair - the bar is adequately staffed, but not a place to spend time as of my last few visits. Better choices abound - you need only look or ask. (And if Merlin is still around - that's your "Go To" guy for good suggestions). Tell him I said "Hi" and ask about his Mom and 'Dem. Read less

Loved the location in the French quarter. Surprise band parades every night. Centrally located to tours and sightseeing. Room small but clean and restaurant was great. Loved the balcony and would stay there again,

I travel frequently for work and always stay at Sheraton/Marriott hotels when possible. The staff at this location made me feel right at home. That said, I am very disappointed with how my room charges were handled. I booked my reservation for three nights (Wednesday check-in with Saturday check-out) through my company's travel booking site. At checkout, my room charges totaled $200 more than expected. It turns out the hotel has varying room charges depending on the day of the week. I wish the hotel was more proactive about communicating this with potential guests. I would encourage the management to make sure that these policies are more clearly shared with folks during the booking process. Read less

Good and bad. Of course, if you want to stay right on Bourbon St. In the middle of everything, it is very good. You can enjoy the noise and crowds if you stay on the front side, but it is really quiet on the back. We overlooked the parking garage, which was fine with us! All the rooms have ear plugs, we didn’t need them. The folks in our group on… Read more

You can enjoy the noise and crowds if you stay on the front side, but it is really quiet on the back. We overlooked the parking garage, which was fine with us! All the rooms have ear plugs, we didn’t need them. The folks in our group on the front did. Our room had several problems. The toilet sprung a leak, the a/c leaked onto the rug and didn’t work well one night (you need a/c in NOLA!) and I took cold showers 2 times. The a/c and toilet were fixed quickly but they put a drying fan in the room for the rug—loud!!! The WiFi was good in the room. The really good were the folks. The valet on arrival was out at the car before I opened the door finding out my needs. I got to check in very early. They got stuff out of my car and took it to my room while I headed off to the WWII Museum. I returned via Toulouse St. To the garage and they were great. Leaving, the valet got our stuff to the car by the time we had checked out and ready to leave. We generally hate to use “valet” because they take so long. They were fast and efficient here. Read less
