This hotel was fantastic! The front desk, porter, and housekeeping were wonderful for our entire stay. Our 3rd floor Bourbon St balcony room was a fun way to experience the French Quarter in the center of everything. The pros: location, amenities, staff, weekend breakfasts (OMG, the blueberry pancakes!), Covid-19 precautions, balconies for people watching/hanging out/morning coffee & meals, rooms, great pillows. The cons: if you want to get a quiet night's sleep, those balcony rooms on Bourbon may present a challenge. The Funky 544 nightclub sits on the corner of Bourbon and Toulouse and keeps the doors open on both streets. It plays music at a volume so loud that I am certain they are trying to make sure people in Miami can hear it. Like seriously. Saturday night: loud music until 6am. Sunday night: loud music until about midnight. Monday/Tuesday nights: closed. These 2 nights were an anomaly, I think mostly because of the light foot traffic, Hurricane Ida recovery, and the kind of off season of early October. Gotta hand it to the public sanitation crew, too. They were out early every morning clearing the streets of the previous night's evidence. Kind of loud but not Funky 544 loud. I would ask for a room further down Bourbon away from Toulouse if you can get it just to dull the night club noise (maybe?). Ear plugs or white noise in earbuds can help. If you don't mind missing out on the pros of those Bourbon St balconies, the interior balcony rooms around the stunningly quiet pool courtyard might be a great tradeoff to get the location without the noise. Last thing, the bathroom was kind of small and the door was like a saloon door which opened in the middle. It was awkward and weird. The only way to fix it would be to replace it with door/doors that open out into the hallway or a pocket sliding door in the wall. If you still want the Bourbon St balcony experience without the Funky 544 nuisance (which most certainly is normally a 7 night/week operation), I understand the Royal Sonesta might be an alternative. However, I would choose the Four Points Sheraton again. Read less

This was a central location to every thing and all the action sits out front of the hotel doors. Party Zone 1, we had a Balcony room and it was perfect for crowd watching. We ended up in a room with no hot water for two days and construction noise next to us starting at 7 AM. It was not a pleasant stay. The room was not the one I paid for, the night clerk was hostile, and Expedia was not helpful. There are lots of better places to stay.

Pros: Hotel is in an excellent location. Majority of staff was friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Hotel is very clean, amidst a full renovation. Most rooms without fridge or microwave, but ours came with a mini fridge, which we were grateful for. Valet service was amazing and helped load and unload all of our belongings, which was a lot. Cons: "Courtyard" balcony room overlooked the valet garage and hotel dumpsters. When I spoke to the desk about my dissatisfaction, I was advised that they should be called "interior balcony rooms"... though I still would have been disappointed. Literally, no one should pay extra over a standard room to overlook a dumpster. Our balcony was not private, but shared with another room.... and did not come complete with chairs or a table like the website photos would allow you to believe. No ice machines on any floor except 5th... only one elevator operational during our stay, so this made for long wait times in getting in and out of the hotel and up to get ice. No food and beverage services available, though most of the quarter is back up and running. Pool is nice, but no bar or music and the towels are skimpy and had to be requested. LOUD construction happens first thing in the morning... 7-8am early which was super annoying... but more annoying when the noise stopped around 10-11am. Why couldn't they do the loud stuff a little later? It was awful. ((Plus, not a hotel problem, but we watched one of the construction crew members drinking beer at 8am... maybe it was his choice?)) Overall, we've stayed here before and enjoyed it. This stay was not ideal, we're not happy. We did spend some time at another hotel quite close to this one and will do some hotel shopping next time we're in town. Read less

There a couple of pluses. The location is good and the staff so far have been great. The negatives; the ice machine on the second floor doesn’t work, the balcony room we have overlooks a dumpster, the pool towels are like hand towels; cheap and don’t work, the room is dated, no fridge and the balcony doors need to be painted. It looks like they have black mold. The Omni looks like a much nicer hotel. I’m surprised Marriott cares so little about this property. Also, the hallways smell like weed. Oh and the WiFi is aweful Read less
