Samantha Arnold is my hero. I needed a specific room in the hotel and because of her diligence, she got it for me. I can never thank her enough. PATIENT. KIND. CARING. DETERMINED. That is truly what one wants and needs in a FRIEND and in an EMPLOYEE. She is a beautiful person. I look forward to meeting her when I visit March 2025. Now let me…

Now let me digress.... Some months ago we were given the most wonderful room. There was some type of mixup and the hotel apologized because they were placing us on the second floor with a balcony that overlooked Bourbon Street. AND, to make matters worse, it was the week of Mardi Gras and though the parades had ended, the visitors hovered in town through the weekend. The screaming and partying and drinking and hollering and 5am street cleanups were going to be just awful for us. However, I was thrilled beyond belief. We were there stuck in that room for 3 days. I sat on the balcony each evening, drinking wine, laughing and catching beads tossed up to me. It was the most delightful experience I'd ever had on New Orleans in the 60 years I'd been visiting. I am not sure when Mardi Gras is next year, and really don't care. I adore New Orleans. My grandfather was born there in the 1880s, christened at St. Joseph's. He had uncles who were priests. And the stories he shared regarding the flooding when Canal Street was an uncovered canal and he had to traverse St. Louis Cemetery 1 to go to the store for his mom and he'd see open graves.....and on and on and on.

My o ly suggestion, especially since I stated here some years ago, I think the rooms could use some slight updating, especially bathroom shower and the rugs in the floor
