Le Meridien New Orleans

New Orleans, Louisiana

Virgin rating

The hotel

Deep in downtown, Le Méridien New Orleans presents The Big Easy in all its glitzy glory. After a mega-million dollar refit, it mixes the city’s refined style and sense of fun, with pops of yellow and blue, music-inspired accessories, and reflections of New Orleans in its photography. Location’s key of course – it’s just 100 metres from Bourbon Street and Harrah’s Casino, and 300 metres from the French Quarter. And they’ve teamed up with The Sweat Social to bring you running tours, Priority Bicycles to offer bike hire, and three incredible art museums to give you complimentary entry. Returning to base, you can swim in the rooftop pool, dine on Deep South inspired dishes at LMNO, and take time out in The Hub – a café-come-bar with complimentary WiFi, a New American menu, and an evening aperitif hour featuring sparkling cocktails.

I highly recommend this hotel. The staff was exceptional, including the valet service and the front desk staff. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom amenities were nice and breakfast at the bar was cooked perfectly. La Tisha, the front desk manager was very pleasant, attentive and expedited our check-in process during the holiday season and busy Bayou Classic event weekend. Our bags were handled expeditiously by Albert who offered us suggestions on places to eat and visit in the area. Overall, it was an exceptional experience. Read less

Our concierge Damien was fantastic. The only thing I recommend is the doors on the shower needs to be eliminated. The bathroom is too small for you to open a door. This is a very tight fit. A refrigerator would be highly recommended instead of a cooler. The ice machine wasn’t working. Read less

I'm gonna give this hotel a 4 star, only because they need to work on their shady billing practices. There is absolutely NO reason to put $1800 hold on my credit card when my room and taxes was only projected to be $1100. This is the only Marriott that this has happened to me. I did not want to eat at the restaurant or drink at the bar because I… Read more

There is absolutely NO reason to put $1800 hold on my credit card when my room and taxes was only projected to be $1100. This is the only Marriott that this has happened to me. I did not want to eat at the restaurant or drink at the bar because I didn't want anything else reflected on my bill. That way, it wouldn't be easy to cheat me out extra money. My sister pre-paid for her room and was charged again for the same room upon arrival. She had to get a manager to reverse the second payment. I don't know if the front desk needs additional training or if it's hotel policy to make billing so confusing. Everything else was great tho. Read less

Hotel and rooms were extremely clean and fresh. Across the street from Caesars Casino . Also parking at Harrah’s parking garage is an easy and very short walk to the hotel. Free parking if you gamble for at least 30 minutes and print a free parking voucher. Easy walk to great restaurants in French quarter. Highly recommended stay in New Orleans.
