We stayed Aug 6-9 and had a great time! They are using all the resources at staying safe during this time. Must wear a mask in the lobby, elevator, and walking to room. This is my first time staying at the Royal Sonesta. We were celebrating my daughters 21st Birthday with a few of her friends. We had a courtyard view balcony. The pool was so much fun! We made friends from Okc and North Carolina. Bars are not open so we bought alcohol from Rouses on Royal and made drinks in our room while hanging out on our balcony. We all slept great, beds very comfortable. Had lunch at Desire, waiter and food was good. I would definitely stay here again! Read less

1. Check out the brown scum ring around the pool. 2. Requested a view at check in. The hotel is empty, but they gave us one of the few rooms with a WALL right outside the window. Yes, we booked directly with the hotel, not with a third party discounter. 3. Day and night the hotel desk does not pick up the phone. Because there is no… Read more

Yes, we booked directly with the hotel, not with a third party discounter. 3. Day and night the hotel desk does not pick up the phone. Because there is no housekeeping service you must request towels, TP, etc. However, the phone is answered perhaps 1 out of 20 times that you call. Our whole group encountered this. 4. Location as noted by others is wonderful. This is the best feature of this hotel. Rooms are smallish. Bathroom so small you can turn on the sink and the shower from the toilet. Read less

Royal Sonesta Poolside bar is price gouging alcoholic beverages upwards of 18 dollars a drink. In general prices are very high all over Bourbon St. The hotel is absolutely fantastic. Service is very good.

Overall good place . Booked a room online and had no troubles getting in . They have valet parking. If your looking to visit Bourbon Street this would be a recommendation . It’s within walking distance of all the stores and restaurants on Bourbon.
