I recently stayed at the Royal Sunsetter New Orleans, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing.
Upon checking into my room, I found that the bathroom was not as clean as it should have been, with a significant amount of hair in the bathtub. When I attempted to iron my clothes, the iron leaked water everywhere and wouldn’t hold any. I tried to call and text the front desk for assistance, but no one answered. After several tries, and being met with a morning voicemail despite it being 4/5pm I had to physically go downstairs to the front desk for assistance.
While the manager was polite and promptly sent a replacement iron, it ended up being even worse, leaking more water than the first. This situation delayed my evening, causing me to miss a dinner reservation and forcing me to find a last-minute alternative.
In addition to these issues, the refrigerator in the room was broken, leading to spoiled food. Maintenance did replace it, but the inconvenience was frustrating. Throughout my stay, I had difficulty reaching the front desk for simple requests, like additional towels or valet service. On one occasion, I even asked a housekeeper in the hallway for towels, but instead of helping directly, they insisted on calling the front desk.
To top it off, the bathroom lacked proper ventilation, making it uncomfortable to shower with the door closed, as everything became wet and humid.
While the staff were generally polite, the overall experience was marred by these inconveniences. Unfortunately, I would not stay at this hotel again due to the multiple issues and lack of responsiveness. The hotel reached out after completing the survey and they never responded. Very dissatisfied

It was a fun and pleasant experience. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and helped us with our issues with a very good manor. Overall it was a comfortable and relaxing experience for a weekend getaway.
Nurturing staff for older travelers!

Alex at Le Booze made our Labor Day long weekend the best! My husband and I had the best time here and it’s def a LGBTQ friendly space. Great drinks, great music and great conversation brought us back every night we were in town and can’t wait to visit again!! A must if you’re in town!
