The hotel was ideally placed for exploring the city and for being close to the vibrant nightlife. Rick’s bar opposite was great for a drink and snack whilst listening to Steamboat Willie and band. The Reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful giving us ideas where to go in the city. A special mention to Denise who printed off directions for us and Cedric who helped us with the WiFi set up. Read less

This was my second stay at the Royal Sonesta. The service is superb down to the last detail. They have hands down the best location. It's such a beautiful hotel. Even though it's old, it still manages to feel modern.

This is a lovely hotel of high standards However our stay was not a good experience First night we got no sleep due to security alarms going off all night telling us to leave the building And then several times telling us to ignore the earnings as they were been looked into We complained the next morning , but the staff didn’t seem interested and didn’t even offer us a free meal or drinks to compensate On from that … the shower dispensers / shampoo / conditioner were all empty We had to use our own Apart from the above It is a lovely hotel with a lovely pool courtyard area and pool bar Nice for relaxing afternoons The hotel was very clean and good facilities It is situated right on the corner of bourbon street It has parking but we had no use for that Bed and pillows were comfy and air con rooms Would recommend this hotel apart from the above problems Read less

We enjoyed our stay! We parked the car and everything was walking distance. It was quiet for great sleep and a very friendly staff. Giving great thanks to Denise who checked us in at the front desk. Denise took wonderful care of us! Shout out to you Ms. D! We highly recommend this hotel.

I’ve stayed at this hotel at least 25 times since my first stay on my honeymoon in 1980. Our recent stay during JazzFest was extremely disappointing. The hotel is rated 4.5 stars by Trip Advisor. I’m giving it an overall 2 star rating. If I was rating solely the services and housekeeping, I’d give it a 1 star, terrible rating. We had to call to get our room made up on 2 of the 4 days/nights we were there. On one day, we were promised that our room would be serviced and we returned at 7:45pm to learn that it wasn’t. This really upset us. We always leave a gratuity for housekeeping when we get the minimum expected housekeeping service. We did not leave one on this stay, even though it was a 4 night one. On one of the evenings, in the early morning when a woman was yelling and out of control in the hallway outside out of our room, we could not reach the front desk to report it. We were going to call 911 but decided not to. It went on for about 45 minutes. I’d have to debate very hard in considering whether to stay here again when I got no satisfaction out of spending almost $3,000 for this 4 night stay. Read less
