This was a short get-away fo me and my husband. The hotel and location was almost perfect. Their flaw was something that could easily be fixed. Replace the cleaning staff!!... Other than that, our stay was perfect...

Let me just say, St. James Hotel is a place you feel welcomed by the wonderful staff that makes you feel so welcomed and appreciate your stay and they care beyond your typical expectations. It was my first stay at this hotel after researching hotels in New Orleans and I was seeking the best value for the money and in a safe area of NOLA. When I arrived, a gentleman who was the Project Manager, a nice gentleman checked me into my room. The room was clean, comfy and quaint with lots of charm to this historic hotel. Although it was during the COVID-19 pandemic, I still enjoyed my stay throughout from what the hotel had to offer. I would definitley recommend anyone who wants a nice place to stay. The hotel ran a promotional special that extended through the end of July 2020 where you stay two nights and your third night was FREE!!! What hotel runs a promotion like that!? Do I hear crickets?? You must try staying at this hotel as I had such a delightful time staying here because the GM-Vickie Powell, was very hospitable, caring, and professional all at the same time as all her staff was also. They really do care and they all seem very happy to be part of the St. James Hotel management team. Aaron, the AGM was very helpful by matching my nightly room rate with Hotels.com nightly rate I'm telling you, he is just as hospitable as Lindsey who is the Director of Sales and Marketing, she was very resourceful with providing COVID-19 reopening phase information and just so kind to deal with and she also helped me with navigating through their website to book my reservation. So I say again, why in the heck would you stay elsewhere when these wonderful staff goes beyond their expectations to make sure your stay is more than you expected. They bring great energy to your stay! Here's a prime example of what blew me away, Vickie the GM, she was so gracious enough on her way home to drop me off at one of the local restaurants to prevent me from walking. Talk about a great human being she is, she didn't even know me and offered me a ride. I am grateful for how the whole staff treated me and my stay. You will not experience this kind of kindness and warmth at any other hotel in NOLA! Thank you very much, Vickie!!! Read less

My fiancé and I wanted to get away from the house for the weekend. Very glad we found St. James Hotel. It was the perfect walking distance from all of the wonderful things the city of New Orleans has to offer. It is a beautiful historic building and was very quiet during our visit. Would absolutely visit again.

My family arrived on a Monday and left on a Saturday. With NOLA being in phase 2 of reopening restaurants and stores were hit and miss. Closer to the weekend, they started to open more and also was more and more tourists coming towards the weekend. Café Du Monde and Café Beignet did not disappointed. Our hotel was just as nice as can be under the circumstances. Room was clean and we experienced the best southern hospitality from the staff. They accommodated my family so much. We went the WW2 museum (a must!). We rented a car very easily and was able to visit Oak Alley Plantation. We went on an amazing swamp tour in Sidell. We also drove to Pensacola and spent a day at that beautiful beach town. The Natchez River boat was also running at the time we were there. Weekends only. This was an unforgettable trip. There is good and bad when it comes to traveling at this time. The good: parking was easy, low crowds everywhere, popular tourists attractions are available without reservations. I felt like we got special treatment. Everyone so eager to accommodate. The bad: No live music that NOLA is known for. We still heard music at Du Monde and random outside entertainers. Read less
