Highly overpriced and much in need of renovation! Pool closed, room dirty. Staff mediocre. The photos online are a misrepresentation to say the least! I am glad I chose to book many different hotels for this trip instead of only booking here. Highly disappointed with this hotel.

The staff here is super friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and clean. The only thing we were disappointed about is there was no coffee available in the lobby in the morning due to a renovation.

Let me first say yes, COVID and IDA have had a terrible effect on NOLA. But, that shouldn’t prevent the hotel from providing guests with the experiences they’ve advertised. First, the staff is genuinely kind and friendly. That’s the only nice thing the St James has going for it. The very overpriced room had no hairdryer, no coffee maker (so why the coffee packets??), the absolute worst sheets and only 3 small pillows for a King bed. The bathroom doorknob was falling off. The outdoor spaces were a mess, will attribute that to -still to be repaired - IDA damage. Stayed only one night of two and will not return to this overpriced, misrepresented “boutique hotel”. The St. James Hotel lived up to its promise of proximity to the French Quarter and other attractions (Aquarium of the Americas, Riverwalk, WWII museum, Superdome) and was comfortable and clean. Slept well with a minimum of street noise. Courteous staff and clean accommodation. Would visit again.
