It's all about the people! We came in town on Tuesday, November 12, and were met at the door by Dorion. We were tired from travel, so he immediately took care of our car and gave us our first PERFECT dinner suggestion! "Thank you for a great beginning Dorion!" We were tired from travel, so he immediately took care of our car and gave us our first PERFECT dinner suggestion! "Thank you for a great beginning Dorion!" Every day our room was made perfect as MS Audrey - AKA "MS ST James" came to our room to make sure everything was in place. EVERY DETAIL....I MEAN EVERY DETAIL of our stay was met with kindness and excellence! We woke up to a rainy day on Thursday and were without the exchange needed for trolly. DONNIE was at the desk and checked the drawer for change. When he saw there was not enough cash in the drawer, he wouldn't settle until he got us our change. OVER AND ABOVE THE CALL OF DUTY! This is our new home when we visit NOLA. Thanks ST James Family!!! Read less

We stayed a week and were treated so very well by the staff. Donnie, at the front desk, helped us so much. We also got to know a couple of others that treated us like family. Bob, the bellman, always friendly. In the mornings, Audrey, also called Miss St. James, brought our coffee, with a smile. Our maid service was provided by Claudia and did a… Read more

The hotel is older and not 5 star but clean and right next to the French Quarter. It’s the staff that sets it apart. Read less

Before we even arrived, Donnie got us set up with a shuttle to from the airport and answered several questions I had. Breakfast was always prompt and delicious; just enough to hold you over until lunch. At checkout we again were able to leave our bags until it was time for us to make our way to the airport. I highly recommend staying here! Read less

It was a delightful three days and four nights. Miss Audrey was helpful, friendly, and courteous, especially after my wife fell on NOL's infamous sidewalk(s) and broke her shoulder. This is a great location for visiting the WWII museum which is why we came on this trip. If you decide to walk be VERY careful as the sidewalks can be treacherous. Read less

I know that old hotels tend to have quirks, but this one felt run down. The shower took up to 20 mins to heat up, the bathroom walls were rusty, the elevator was clunky and screeched every time we were in it, and the walls to our room were so paper thin that we heard every time someone closed a door, talked in the hallway or in their neighboring room, walked around loudly, etc. Due to how noisy it was (resulting in almost no sleep) and how less-than-fresh the hotel felt, I would not stay there again. The lobby was beautiful but the rooms themselves were too shabby to make it a repeat stay. Read less
