We have stayed at Voco St. James from October 26 through 30. Neither at booking, check-in nor checkout was there any mention of additional charges beyond that paid ahead of our stay however checking our final account after leaving we note we were charged a daily amenities fee. We emailed reception asking what this charge covers as we used no other amenities beyond sleeping at the hotel, however have not received even the courtesy of a reply at this time. As this was not mentioned at any stage before or during our stay nor at anytime authorised by us, it appears deceptive and dishonest billing. While the location and rooms were OK, we would not recommend Voco St James for New Orleans visitors based on our experience. Read less

Lovely hotel and very helpful staff . The breakfast was lovely and served by Kat who was always smiling and very friendly. We went for a week for my girlfriends birthday. The room and bed were comfy and the staff were nice and helpful. Beyond that the hotel is shoddy. As I've seen on previous reviews the water was either frigid or scalding in rhe shower. The toilet was constantly running, Handles to the closet and cabinet were broken. And the promised coffee maker didn't work. Plus the message light was flashing 24/7. The hotel staff was helpful but limited in what they can do. In addition they billed us twice (this was fixed quickly) and on our last day repeatedly knocked on our door until we checked out (we were on time for checkout) . Had we not paid for a room with a balcony and a 'Premium" promise maybe my expectations would be lower. They need renovations in a big way. PS. When they say they will have a shuttle waiting for you at the airport its an Uber that you fully pay for. That would have been nice to know. But I probably shouldn't have assumed anything. Read less

Wecame in to do some business in town and brought clothes in case we needed to retrun the next day and we stayed. We got a great rate with parking and took it. We arrived, checked in, and went to our room, which was quite nice! Mmm... I guessed being an IHG One Rewards does pay off!. We made our way down to the bar. My wife ordered Pinot Grigio- they were out of it. She then wanted Rose'- they were out of that, too. Dejected, we went back to our room. The next morning I was taking a shower and could only get hot water, no matter which knob I used- hot water! My wife gets up to wash her face and guess what- only hot water. WOW! I reported it to the front desk. In the morning we wend down for breakfast. The menu was small but appetizing. My wife ordered the yogurt parfait, which came in a nice size bowl. I ordered the American Breakfast. Everything was done perfectly and just right, including my wife's Bloody Mary and my black tea. Service was excellent. Overall, except for those two issues, I would have givng it five stars. BTW, I did contact the place afterward and mentioned our two issues to make certain some else would know about it. We possibly may go back in the future! Read less

It was a lovely hotel with kind staff. Pictures are a bit deceiving. We had one issue with valet. However the staff did their best and rushed to help us make our appointment. They were attentive and helpful. Easy location to walk anywhere.
