We will definitely stay again. The only reason they didn’t get a higher rating was. It seems someone checked in our room and checked right out. The mans envelope and work badge were left on the counter by the bathroom & there was big long black hairs throughout the floor of our room including a candy wrapper on the floor and 2 spots on the bed it looks like someone had sitting on it. The lobby and hallways have an interesting estictvc with a touch of New Orleans style to them. Our room was very comfortable and I loved the design. My only complaint was that I wish I had more time to stay at the hotel! This hotel is very swanky so don’t let the marketing detour you. All the staff we talked to were so friendly! I would highly recommend this hotel. It has quickly moved into my top 3 favorite hotels Read less

We stayed for 7 days over New Year. Pre-arrival comms from Joshua were superb - thanks for the birthday treats in the room Josh! As everyone else has mentioned, the staff are excellent. A young bunch and although great fun and bubbling with life, very professional. Check in was seamless although due to long-haul flight fatigue, we mistakingly provided our flight boarding passes rather than our covid passes - these were accepted - eeek!! We only noticed when we got up the room. The hotel is a brisk 15 minute walk from the French Quarter - in a much quiter area. Our room was lovely. Room service needs to be requested (understandably perhaps due to current staff shortages) and this was carried out whenever we did so. It was cleaned to a very high standard. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There was no turn down service. Sound proofing was great - we could not hear anything outside of the room. We had a great view across the city - we loved watching the sun rise and set. The bath robes are the best we have ever experienced. We would have bought a couple but they over $100 each which was a bit too much to pay. There was no bath and we did miss this, especially when the weather turned cold. We were surprised that there was no coffee machine in the room - something we would expect in a 5 star hotel. Also, no docking station for an iphone/ipod to enable us to play music - another thing we would expect from this level of hotel. Bottled water was not provided in the room. The AC was the loudest we have come across - we did fiddle with the control but could not reduce the sound. It was not enough of a nuisance to call maintenance. The SMEG fridge was great - the first hotel fridge that cools drinks properly. The hotel itself is quite spectacular - 5 stars to the designer. Everywhere you look, you will find something interesting or that will make you smile. The roof top bar is lovely although the photos on the website would suggest the pool is a bit larger than it actually is. We would describe it as a plunge pool but nice to sit around none the less. We didn't eat in the hotel, purely as we wanted to experience Louisiana cuisine. The coffee bar on the ground floor was good. The small pizza place down the street is excellent! Molly was our favourite and went above and beyond to organise a trip to a swamp and plantation. She sorted out a few other bits and bobs during our stay - always with a big smile - and she remembered our names! Josh too helped enormously with printing out our return flight covid documentation - thanks for your patience Josh - we got there in the end! Damien at the door was a delight - always made us laugh each time we passed - don't ever change Damien - thank you so much for the birthday praline cookie...and the dance performance! The only real negative was on our return from our swamp trip. It had been a long and wet & windy day and I fancied a G&T. The bar downstairs was busy so we popped up to the roof bar. I asked the lovely bar lady if I could take it down to my room as the roof area had been closed off due to the cold weather. She said absolutely. She prepared it artistically in a lovely glass but as I was walking back to the lift, I passed the hostess who without explanation took the drink from me and dumped the contents into a plastic beaker. I was quite stunned so made my way back to the room. I'm still unsure why this happened, especially when the bar lady knew I was taking the drink away. Perhaps it is a H&S initiative or perhaps she thought I was planning to steal the glasswear? For what its worth, apart from pool/beach situations, I never drink from plastic but wasn't really given the opportunity to say yay or nay...odd. It did ever so slightly take the shine off what was a great day. Not a biggie, more a niggle really. All in all we were very impressed with the hotel and the staff and although we don't plan a return trip to NOLA, would certainly seek out a Virgin hotel when visiting another big city. Read less

Brilliant location with a central but not crazy busy location. Restaurants and supermarket near by. Brand new so very high quality and spacious rooms. Generally quiet but a little noise on the weekend. However the staff are truly exceptional and helpful. A different level to most hotels. Stay here.

Brittney, Tina, and "Q" were so hospitable they informed me of all the local attractions and made me feel as if I were at home. I really appreciate everything they suggested and provided to me during my stay. Molly also informed me and my guest of some of the local evening festivities. I Will be sure to return here when I plan on visiting New Orleans in very near future. Thank you all for making my and my guests experience very memorable. We appreciate you. - Aigner Green :) Read less
