My husband, son, daughter-in-law, and I spent 5 nights at the Fairmont Kea Lani, and had the most wonderful time. We splurged on ocean view suites, and were not disappointed. My son and his wife initially were placed in a room overlooking construction at the property, but were moved quickly, without any problem. We spent time at the property’s pools, as well as on the beach. A highlight of our stay was experiencing the Hawaiian experience outrigger canoe paddle and whale sighting at the hotel. It was thrilling, and our Hawaiian guides, Ralph and Saul, were fantastic. We also rented a poolside cabana for a day, and loved it. All the staff at this hotel were extremely helpful, courteous, and kind to us. We are so thankful we were able to have this experience at the beginning of March, 2020, before travel to Hawaii was halted. Read less

The only issue during our stay (construction noise) has been fixed quick, supportive and to our total satisfaction- A special thanks to Front desk agent Tamy here. The Food & wine choices are amazing-great seafood, a lot of local ingredients, perfect variety-great menus. A beautiful Cafe (Makana) with great options and very attentive staff memorising our Names and preferences so quickly. We hope to see a more sustainable solution to the plastic bottle usage soon. The way they perform the turn down service made us feel extra cozy and welcome. Snorkelling at the Hotel beach with seeing all that ocean life while hearing the Wales sing was outstanding! Water, towels, sunscreen and all you need are provided at all areas. Sarah made our farewell dinner at our favourite restaurant there (Ko) so special. We couldn't have asked for more and will definitely come again. Thanks to the whole Team from Canada. Read less

I was lucky enough to be married in Maui on March 20. My family organized a suite at the fairmont so we could spend our wedding night there as well as get ready prior to our wedding. Dealing with the front desk staff aside from one lovely lady (Ronnie) was the worst we have ever experienced. I understand there is a lot going on in the world with COVID-19 but the lack of service was unacceptable and people were just plain rude. My mother was hoping to have our suite decorated with flowers etc for when me and my husband arrived back in our room. They promised her 2 separate times that housekeeping would go up and do that for her/ us. It never happened. The hotel was not even at 50% capacity. I feel the services provided during this time by hospitality staff should have been above and beyond for the people that were still staying there but instead it was almost like we didn’t exist and didn’t matter. Room service wasn’t picked up for over 24hours, even after calling the front desk. Super disappointed in this hotel and our experience with the staff. For the price paid, we won’t even consider staying here ever again. Read less

just like others reviewed, we stayed mid march 8-16, the large adult pool and whole center area are closed off and under construction. this is right against the main building bank of rooms and sound just echoes off building amplifiying it. had a hilti jack hammer outside our room one morning around 7 am, but generally it started 8 am-5, saws, excavators, jack hammers etc.. there was no advance notice of this at booking or before arrival. As you would suspect the remaing pool area was bearing the load of all guests and we were not able to find a seat even once. however the beach staff had chairs and umbrellas available every day no problem. beach is small but nice and you can snorkel by the rocks. our room was very nice including bedding and bathroom and balcony. unfortunately the folks in room next door were heavy smokers (weed and butts) and their smoke drifted into our room non stop, even with our doors all closed it came in thru ventialtion i guess. i suspect they were smoking on their balcony with doors open idk but we complained twice to no avail, i do realize this is tough issue for the resort to deal with-- but some on folks have some decency and use the designated smoking area like considerate people do. There is No options for table service breakfast at this resort. The only food option in the morning is breakfast buffet for $50 per person or the cafe store which is crowded and food utterly disgusting (youve been warned)very dissapointing as we really enjoy a light sit down breakfast --so we walked most days to Longhis (@shops at wailea) very good spot -try the french press coffee. there is music at lobby bar 4 days a week we enjoyed , its ends at 8pm so get there early lol. Nicks fish market very good food & drinks. Ko was marginal. pool bar-- stick to beer or wine-- if you can get service or a seat . The folks working at resort very freindly and easy going. the resort itself looks and feels older and bit dated compared to the other 3 major resorts in that row, but rooms nice, easy self parking, good location. upon check out we mentioned the construction and smoke and they very kindly offered a resort fee credit of $350 to make up and refund of 2 nights, i was very surprised this was nice of them, however they never did refund the 2 nights -it just lip service. recommend to AVOID this resort unitl construction 100% complete Read less

We were informed we could not cancel but had the option to re-schedule. We re-scheduled for June, but they charged my credit card an extra $8,000 on top of the $2,000 in deposits we paid for back in December. Since we utilized American Express Platinum Travel, we can't get anybody on the phone. Thanks Fairmont, it's nice to see what your true corporate values are during a national crisis. Read less
