My wife and I recently spent five days at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa. We had been there around 30 years ago and thought it would be a good place to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and the staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful. However, the hotel is showing its age. The rooms are tired and lack many of the upgrades you would see in a newer hotel (e.g., the toilet and tub/shower are in the same cramped room; there is only one sink in the bathroom; the furniture is old-fashioned and worn). The hotel definitely caters to families with kids (although I don't know how they afford it), which all but disqualifies it for single couples. We loved it 30 yeas ago but were sorely disappointed this time. Read less

We got the rental car and 5 days through Costco. I thought the Hyatt Hotel was beautiful and well maintained. The grounds were immaculate. We had an ocean view room that did not disappoint. We could see whales breaching the water from our balcony. The Expedia activities center was well designed and the people were very capable. We went out on the Beautiful catamaran “Hula Girl” to Honolua Bay. I highly recommend this boat and crew. The boat has a great crew and chef. My wife and I shared steak tempura. The meals are prepared specifically for you. We saw more whales on the trip than a previous boat “ultimate” that was for whales only. The snorkeling was great also. the Hyatt has several restaurants but it is located in the heart of the action and close to Lahaina where there are many other fine restaurants. Overall great place to stay. Read less

Nice rooms, amazing scenery..As everyone else said this a lot, dont want to repeat it again. $32 Parking for Hyaat members should be reconsidered. Either waive it or make it half at lteast. Anyways, HIGHLY recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were changing from another hotel on Kaanapali Beach so we needed an early check in. I used the Hyatt App and received a notice when the room was ready - before 10 am! Great Service! My wife received a nice orchid lei at check in - very nice touch. The room was right above the sand and it was awesome sleeping with the balcony door open with the sound of the waves. There are plenty of retail spots in this resort. It is a little bit of a hike to the ABC store at Whalers Village; but the prices in the resort store were very close< Save the steps and shop in the resort. The hotel is showing its age and is in need of refurbishing. But, it was clean and had a huge tv and everything functioned well. Prepare for $20 drinks from the bars after taxes and tips are added. The pool chairs in any shade were difficult to get on Sunday as lots of guests throw towels on chairs and you never see them. I am not sure how the hotel can teach rude guests how to be considerate. But this can be an issue. This is a great place to spend your Maui vacation - with lots of restaurants and bars close by down the beach. Read less

All the facilities in and around the hotel (including all the staff) are fantastic! Room is very clean although a bit tired and outdated - not a deal breaker though because there are heaps of other things to do out there!
