The Maui Coast Hotel is outstanding in every aspect. The friendliness of their staff is authentic from the moment I checked in with the Front Desk and all the way through dining at the Kamaole Poolside Cafe for lunch while watching football games to dinners at Ami Ami Bar and Grill with a date. Every bartender and server at each restaurant was full of genuine service. The Housekeepers were always smiling and respectfully asking if I needed more towels or cleaning. The Gift Shop lady was very polite. The Front Desk staff was always there and willing to help me scan and print my business documents. I really enjoyed talking story with a woman who worked Night Audit there for 20 years when I'd take study breaks to lounge around the lobby during early mornings. Bottom line is that their Team from Staff to Management are solid, and it shows with their smooth operations in this sweet spot in the middle of Kihei. Read less

We spent just one night at this hotel. The staff at the reception was very friendly. Room was specious and clean. Had everything we needed. We were on the second floor. No view of the ocean. Ask for a room on the 5th or 6th floor and you might have a view from the balcony. The hotel is not on the beach. The building is way back from the main… Read more

Like most hotels in Kihei, this hotel too has no direct access to the beach. However one of the beaches is a 5 minutes walk away. Hotel has a nice pool area. Free bikes available. My preference would be to choose a hotel in the Lahaina/Kanapali area or one of the big (and expensive) Waliea hotels before choosing a hotel in Kihei. Recommendation for hotel only: Recommend. We stayed for 2 nights in December 2018 to extend our vacation (we were at the Westin for 6 days). I was disappointed with the room we got, it was on the ground level and very dark. For $300 per night I was expecting something better. I think if you get a room on a higher floor and facing the beach you might like the hotel. Location is good, not… Read more

Location is good, not right on the beach like Westin, but about 5 minute walk to the Kameole Beach. We liked the beach a lot and didn't mind the short walk. Lots of stores and restaurants within walking distance. Short drive from Coconut's Joe Cafe, we went there several times. Best fish tacos I have ever had! Read less

The quality of the hotel was super nice. Spacious room and very comfy bed. Nice size fridge and a microwave. Since the property sits perpendicular to the ocean, there was no ocean view from our room. Free laundry facility was a plus and a reasonable gift shop where we could rent beach chairs, umbrellas and buy snacks more reasonably than the ABC store. Read less
