We stayed here in June and my husband accidentally left his watch there. We called the hotel and talked to housekeeping and they said that yes they found his watch and that they would mail it to us on the mainland. He was very surprised and happy to get his watch back today! Thank you to all the staff! We had an amazing vacation! We will always stay here while visiting Maui. Read less

We're returning guests to the Maui Coast Hotel so we noticed the differences from pre-Covid times. Currently, there is no concierge service, no guest shuttle, and no housekeeping services unless requested. The $25 daily resort fee includes complimentary use of the washers and dryers (new Maytags since our last visit in 2019) and parking. Our Junior suite had comp Hawaiian roast coffee packets and bottled water, and was equipped with coffee/tea maker, mini-fridge, microwave oven, and sink. Bathroom amenities included Gilchrist & Soames shampoo (but NO hair conditioner!), soap, mouthwash, and hand lotion. Ample and fluffy towels, and one can go to the front desk for beach towels. The hotel still offers a daily newspaper; there are pcs in the hotel lobby. The part we found most inconvenient is having to call for housekeeping services every day to empty wastebaskets and replenish bathroom amenities if were weren't otherwise able to catch the staff down the hall. Location is perfect -- easy access to beach across the street, Maken/Wailea, relatively close to airport and Costco (as opposed to a 45-minute drive from Kaanapali / Lahaina). Read less

This is a difficult review. Multiple times things happened that could’ve been easily avoided causing some grief and frustration, however each time the hotel worked with us to remedy the situation. When we first arrived the room was located essentially in what felt like a dungeon. When the curtain was open there was a shrub wall in front of us. We kindly asked if we could be moved into a new room and when we evaluate in the new room the hallway and room smelled like marijuana. It was late and we decided to take the original first room. The following morning we were able to change to a better room. When we walked into the room, a dirty towel was sitting on the toilet from the last guest or cleaning staff. The room had a strange odor. After a while we found that there were four hamburger patties in the microwave, left for who knows how long causing the order. Location is okay. Need to walk across the street to beach. No “beach style” feel to the place. I caters to flight crew. Read less

We stayed for 6 nights, and it was the perfect base for exploring Maui! It's located in the heart of Kihei, so we didn't have to wake up early for any of the diving/snorkeling trips we booked, because everything is within 10 minutes driving distance. A nice public beach is just across the street, which is also a plus.
