This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at the Wailea Beach Resort and we had another incredible experience! The resort is in one of the best areas of Maui, perfect rooms, and lots of amenities for all types of individuals (including a Starbucks). Since this trip was our honeymoon, we upgraded our room to an Oceanfront room - HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Somehow we only took one picture but you can see how it is overlooking the ocean; we woke up every morning to the sound of waves crashing on the rocks. Also, the hotel was very nice and sent us a bottle of champagne to celebrate! We highly recommend staying here - you won't be disappointed! Read less

he Marriott Wailea Beach Resort in Maui was an unforgettable experience and probably one the best experiences I have ever had at a Marriott property. I stayed here on 6/24-7/2/21 for my honeymoon. Our wedding/honeymoon was supposed to take place in 2020 but due to the pandemic we moved it to 2021. Let me start by explaining what made this resort so special: 1. The staff. From the moment you pull up to the lobby you are greeted with warm hospitality. We were traveling when Hawaii had its mandatory Covid testing and had to provide a proof of being Covid negative. The check in process was a breeze, you are greeted with a lei necklace and a fresh beverage. If you arrive early before check in there is a place to store luggage and change into beach attire. The bar tenders, waiters, shop keepers were all extremely friendly and helpful during our stay. We had the pleasure of meeting Eric Duff the Director of Food and Beverage for the resort. Eric went above and beyond to help make our stay special and our honeymoon overall incredible. The concierge desk is perfect for booking excursions not just on the resort but all around the island. I have stayed at many Marriott properties but this was was extra special because of the level of service the staff provides. 2.Location. The sunsets in Wailea are incredible. Every night you are treated to a gorgeous view of the ocean and sunset. This resort is the closest to the ocean on the island. You have two beautiful beaches that are a short walk from your room. The resort is about a 20 min ride from the airport and one of my favorite features was an upscale shopping/dining indoor/outdoor shopping complex located next door. Here you will find restaurant's, gift shops, ice cream etc only a short walk from the hotel. There is also a boutique grocery store that has excellent food for lunches/snacks if you are looking to save some money on food. We tried all the restaurants on the property and never had a bad meal. The pool side service is plus also. Parking garage is easy to get in and out if you have a car. 3.Room/amenities. Our room was located in one of the towers that overlooked the ocean. The room is extremely well appointed with high end finishing . We enjoyed having coffee and breakfast on the balcony watching the sunrise. The pools seem to be never-ending. My favorite was the adult only infinity pool which overlooked the ocean. There are private cabanas you can rent which I highly recommend if you are looking for a chill relaxing day. For families there are water slides and children's areas. Overall I would highly recommend this resort to my family and friends and will definitely consider booking for an anniversary trip. Read less

My husband and I are currently on our long flight home from Maui to Boston after wrapping up an incredible 13 night stay at the Wailea Beach Resort. It was our first time visiting Maui, and we are daydreaming about when we can come back to the beautiful island that has stolen our hearts. Our trip to Maui was incredibly special and memorable in part due to our experience at this resort. From the second we walked into the open air concept lobby that overlooks the ocean and islands we were captivated. Upon our arrival, the hotel staff was incredibly warm and friendly. It is clear that they truly care about the experiences of the guests and take a genuine interest in what occasion you might be celebrating, how your flight was, how your day is going, etc.. As gold elite members (now platinum members thanks to the duration of our stay!) we were lucky to be upgraded to a better room than we originally booked. We were very pleased to see that the front desk made this work upon our check-in, despite it being a busy time at the resort! We did have a situation where we needed to provide the resident manager, Stacy Morataya-Pilkington, with some feedback. Stacy, and her coworker (the name is escaping me!) went above and far beyond to get back to us extremely promptly and rectified the situation in an incredible way. We were lucky enough to meet Stacy in person and can truly attest that she is wonderful and cares deeply about the hotel’s guests. Stacy is an impressive, kind individual who keeps the property running very smoothly - thank you, Stacy for making our final few days especially wonderful! Aside from what is already mentioned above, the resort is in a prime location. The Wailea beach path is outstanding to walk at any point during the day. We have the best memories catching a sunset and walking along the path just as the day starts to get warm. Additionally, the resort is situated between two amazing beaches. For those like us, who like to explore and walk, you can continue beyond each of these two beaches (located on opposite sides) to find more small strips of beach to relax by and observe the beauty of Maui. For those who like to spend time by the pool, you have many incredible options: from the Ohi family pools, to the Serenity Pool, to the Nalu adventure pool. We loved all of the pools - even having fun going down the water slides at the NALU Adventure pool! We also found the hotel to be in a prime location - within a short 5 minute walk of the Shops at Wailea, and Wailea Village. Both locations offer shopping and restaurants for those who want to venture from the resort. Additionally, we loved one of the restaurants on the resort, KAPA. Both my husband and I tend to be fairly picky eaters when we are vacationing, and found the food to be delicious and the service, impeccable! Leaving Maui and this beautiful resort was so difficult to do. So much so that we extended our original 12 night stay to be 13 nights. We cannot wait to have the opportunity to come back! Thank you to Stacy and her amazing team for making our stay so special! Read less

I have been a Marriott customer for over 15 years. I have earned lifetime platinum status. I start this review by stating this, because, it takes a lot of loyalty to become a lifetime platinum member. I have to say that the experience at this property is the worst experience in my 15 years of staying at Mariott properties. The company I work for had booked a rewards trip for top performers, and decided to cancel the trip at the last minute due to COVID limitations. Once the trip was canceled me and my wife decided to keep our plans, and travel to the big Island. Instead of staying at the hotel that the company had booked for us for our last four nights we decided to book those nights at the Mariott. We made this decision based on my status and loyalty to the Marriott brand. My wife had done some research and found a good deal through Costco that included a rental car. A couple of days before we checked in I called to make sure they had my member info on file, so we would be able to take advantage of my status. After making several calls to both Mariott corporate and the hotel itself. I was told that most properties would honor my status even though I booked the stay through Costco, but this property would not. I have called everyone I could , and have even left messages for the hotel Manager and have not received any response. I even had the corporate Marriott platinum line call them. I am so disappointed that they would not honor my hard earned stays of being loyal that I have made the decision to no longer stay at Mariott properties going forward. Just a simple thing of honoring my status with Breakfast and maybe a few other simple things, will now cost Mariott a long time loyal traveler. On top of this disappointment we found that you have to reserve time in the gym in 45 minute increments. On top of this you have to be at the gym on time so security can let you in. We showed up this morning at 8am, but the security person didn’t show up until 8:20am. At 8:45 the cleaning person came in and kicked us out to clean the gym for the 9:00 time. To top off this experience we had to go down and have our keys changed at least 10 times, and have had security let us in our room three times, because our keys would not work. I would not recomend this property, because if you do have issues no one will help you, especially management, Read less
