We stayed at the Kapalua Villas from March 2-9 of 2020. We flew in from Vancouver, Canada, landing at OGG at 9:45 pm. The drive to the complex was uneventful, but it took us over 30 mins to find the Reception office because the signage in the complex was very poor. So we found the check-in office around 11:30 pm but no one was there, despite their website stating that reception was open 24 hours. We found an envelope taped to the door with details on our unit and the gate and door codes. They also included a crude map which was next to useless. After driving around the complex in the dark for 40 mins., we finally found our unit and got in around 1 am (which was 3 am Pacific time). They should have had security or someone lead us to our unit. And the next day, no one called to ask if we got in OK, or offer an apology for the check-in snafu. And then to make matters worse, later in the week the ice-maker in the fridge started spewing forth streams of water, which had filled the ice-bucket and spilled onto the kitchen floor. We immediately called the front desk to alert them to the emergency, and 23 minutes later someone showed up to disconnect the water. (While we waited for the maintenance man, we had to empty the water out of the ice bucket into the sink every 2 mins or the whole place would have been flooded. Again, we got nothing to compensate us for the major inconvenience, not even an apology. We asked to speak to the Manager, but never got a coll. Management at this place was abysmal, and I would not recommend these Villas to anyone. Read less

The Kapalua Villas are quite exposed to the wind on the northwest coast of Maui but they are clean, well-kept condos with incredible views and easy access to the coast and golf courses. The wind at times was so strong we couldn't enjoy our balcony deck, but the weather is out of our control as well as the property's. When the wind was calm, we could see humpback whales in the distance in the ocean, which was a treat! The villa property was quiet and calm, and there is a good selection of restaurants on the property. My one complaint is about the shuttle service, which they charge you for as part of your rental fee, which was late and our contact at the main office did not keep us informed of its timing. One of the shuttles broke down and they did not call to inform us, which left us having to take our own vehicle to the restaurant. If they're going to include a charge for the shuttle, they should do a better job of servicing guests with it. Read less

I bought this family trip "Kapalua Villas on the ridge, Gold Ocean View" from Costco Travel Website and they have a full size car included in their deal which is very convenient. We arrived around 11:00 pm to Maui airport and I picked up the car and we headed to 300 Kapalua dr (the reception office) as we were directed through the email by Costco Travel. Around 12:00 am we arrived at the reception office and the office was closed. I found an envelope with my name on the door which was directing us to the villa with room no and parking stall no but there was no code/key to enter to the villa. So I called the after hours number on the door to get the code to the villa. Russel Picked up the phone, without saying Hi or Hello, he asked me if I am at the Golf resort or ...or.....; I did not know those places and I answered "I am at the reception office". Then he yelled at "That is not the answer to my question if you don't answer the question I can't help you". Eventually after giving me a bad headache he gave me the code to the villa. Next morning I went to the office to pay the cleaning fee (300$ plus tax). I let them know about my conversation with Russel and they mentioned they are not with us and it is another company which takes care of after hours! The two bedroom villa and the view (I have attached a photo) was just amazing . I found the area/resort/pool/appliances very clean and convenient for family trips. Overall I would not like to go back and I would not recommend this place! Read less

Kapalua Bay Villas are a wonderful place to stay. The condos are clean and very well equipped. We had a full ocean view and the cliffs and waves are spectacular. Our only complaint is the blowers, mowers and trimmers starting at 7:30 or 8 in the morning.

It was terrific in the morning seeing rainbows over Moloka'i, seeing spouts from humpbacks in the ocean and enjoying coffee in the morning or a drink in the afternoon from our lanai and just taking in the sweeping views of the ocean. The condo was functional but a little dated. Would definitely need some freshening up. We rented through Outrigger. The service from the office was very good and if you run out of starter supplies they will replenish them for you. There was a pool near our villa which was perfectly maintained and our toddler liked that a lot. We plan to return to this property, however, perhaps next time at a different villa. Read less
