The Arctic Club Seattle - a Double Tree by Hilton Hotel

Seattle, Seattle & Washington State

The hotel

Taking you back to the glory days that followed the Klondike gold rush, The Arctic Club Seattle’s lobby sets the tone at this DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel. The refined club feel continues as you play pool in the cosy wood-panelled Polar Bar and dine on North American favourites in the intimate booths of JUNO. More contemporary in style, the fitness room has people-watching views over the sidewalk, while your guestroom offers Seattle’s modern-day ‘gold’ — Starbucks coffee. The location unites historic and contemporary Seattle too — putting you within walking distance of Pike Place Market and Pioneer Square, and steps from the light railway network. As soon as you're welcomed with a warm chocolate chip cookie, you'll know you're in good hands.

This was our second stay at this cool hotel in the past year. Very interesting history in a handy part of town, especially if you intend to take in a sporting event or trade show. This was our second stay at this cool hotel in the past year. Very interesting history in a handy part of town, especially if you intend to take in a sporting event or trade show. Lots of police activity in the neighborhood, and it doesn't really feel very safe right now in various parts of Seattle, but the Arctic Club offers a comfortable haven and Uber and Lyft arrive with minimal wait to take you wherever you want to go. Very convenient bus access and also an easy walk to King Street Station if you want to access Amtrak...just be careful where you walk. Service at the Arctic ranges from welcoming and professional, to indifferent and incompetent, depending on the day and the hour. Catch it right, and you'll be rewarded. At the wrong time, you might be frustrated. Everyone is very nice, however. We will certainly be back. Read less

Had a 2 night stay here on Friday/Saturday. I rarely give 5 star ratings but this property deserves it. Staff was very responsive to communication before arrival and during. Inna was very helpful at check-in and sent messages/calls to make sure my stay was good. Room: I was upgraded to 1015 with the balcony. I found the room nice with historical touches. Bed was comfortable. This faces 3rd but the noise was limited and I am a light sleeper. Polar Bar: Good happy hour and very helpful staff. Juno: Breakfast was very good and as a diamond member was given $14.00 per person towards anything on the menu. This would be my first choice if staying downtown. Read less

Cool historic hotel but not a great area for things to do or restaurants. Nearby stores have limited hours. Some not open on Saturday till noon. Similar limitations with restaurants. About 7-8 blocks from Pike market so can make the walk to find things to do.

Some people love staying in historic buildings that have been re-made into modern-day hotels. I'm not one of them. Hilton did a nice job making this property decent given what they had to work with (smaller-sized rooms, old creaky/noise building). Hilton did a nice job making this property decent given what they had to work with (smaller-sized rooms, old creaky/noise building). Overall the room was clean, staff was extremely friendly, and everything worked. But the elevator was noisy at night, street noise wasn't very well shielded, and the area is nice during the work day but a little shady at night. If you like historic architecture the lobby was gorgeous, as is the outside of the building. Read less

Very puzzled by the good reviews of this establishment. From the minute I walked in, it was very strange. It's very dark and dated - I get that they are going for the old gentlemen's club vibe. The first room they assigned me smelled terrible - like a wet dog. I couldn't take it so I asked for another. The new room smelled fine but it was equally… Read more

The first room they assigned me smelled terrible - like a wet dog. I couldn't take it so I asked for another. The new room smelled fine but it was equally dreary. The fixtures are old. The brown bedspread is...it gave me the heebie jeebies. The room has very few plugs. The bathroom is like your grandmother's bathroom, dimly lit, hasn't been updated since the 60s. Then I had trouble accessing the internet - seemed appropriate for a hotel from a bygone era. I couldn't wait to get out of there. Read less
