Mont Rochelle

Franschhoek, Winelands

The hotel

In the style of a private manor house, the property dates back to 1668 but today offers discerning guests the ultimate in luxury. Effortlessly combining elegance with modern comfort, it also boasts a glorious location. Set against a backdrop of the Klein Dassenberg Mountains, no matter what window you’re standing at, the views are breathtaking! As well as a swimming pool to lounge by, there’s a wellness centre and a gym. Alternatively, explore your surrounds by bicycle or on horseback. Set in the wine region, food and drink is, of course, vitally important. Miko offers fine dining in every aspect with each and every dish a work of art. Country Kitchen is more relaxed, perfect for an al fresco lunch or cosy starlit dinner. Before you decide which wine to drink with your meal, visit the tasting room, there’s a huge variety on offer, many from the Mont Rochelle vineyard itself.

Love this property, the rooms, all the staff. From the initial sit down greeting and information session with Annette we loved everything about this property. They set up a 2 hour tour one afternoon with AB who has been there for 22 years and full of information. We got shuttle service to local restaurants 2 nights in a row!

From the moment we got in to when we left everything was perfect. I will be contacting management to see if I can purchase a room and permanently live there. Great location, amenities, and the staff (especially Peter and Xavier) can't be complimented enough.

The arrival was so welcoming. We felt like we could breath straight away. We spent our first day just enjoying the location and views, soaking up the hospitality and unwinding a little. The Cap Classique room (#28 in particular), gave us a home straight away. A great place to rejuvenate.
