The hotel

In the style of a private manor house, the property dates back to 1668 but today offers discerning guests the ultimate in luxury. Effortlessly combining elegance with modern comfort, it also boasts a glorious location. Set against a backdrop of the Klein Dassenberg Mountains, no matter what window you’re standing at, the views are breathtaking! As well as a swimming pool to lounge by, there’s a wellness centre and a gym. Alternatively, explore your surrounds by bicycle or on horseback. Set in the wine region, food and drink is, of course, vitally important. Miko offers fine dining in every aspect with each and every dish a work of art. Country Kitchen is more relaxed, perfect for an al fresco lunch or cosy starlit dinner. Before you decide which wine to drink with your meal, visit the tasting room, there’s a huge variety on offer, many from the Mont Rochelle vineyard itself.

We stayed here for two nights as part of our honeymoon and loved the hotel. Beautiful place, amazing scenery. The food for breakfast was great and we ate in the main restaurant one night which was also very high quality. It was the little things that really made this hotel stand out to us; the free minibar, including two bottles of wine and some snacks, the free hotel taxis that took us into franschoek when we needed and we just had to call to have them pick us up, we also received a free wine testing and wine cellar tour which the hotel manager, James, arranged for us. We loved the lawn games they had for anyone to use and overall just all staff were so accommodating and friendly. Would highly recommend. Read less
