The hotel

A place to let your hair down (and preferably swing it around in true head-banging fashion), Singapore’s outpost of the Hard Rock Hotel franchise lives up to its rock and roll name. It even gives you unlimited free use of its 20 Fenders (including those legendary Stratocasters) to use in your rock-themed guest room, with its state-of-the-art entertainment system. The hotel’s decorated with around 120 pieces of musical memorabilia, including a signed Pearl Jam guitar, but its headline act’s the pool. A tropical lagoon, with man-made sandy beach, swanky cabanas, swim-up bar, beach volleyball and buzzing vibe, it’s ‘the’ place to be seen. On Singapore’s Sentosa Island, the hotel’s part of Resorts World Sentosa, so you’re well-placed for celebrity chef dining, Festive Walk’s shops, and big-name attractions like Universal Studios Singapore®.

Where is it

On Sentosa, Singapore’s famed resort island, this hotel is part of Resorts World Sentosa, a collection of hotels, dining venues including celebrity chef restaurants, retail outlets at Festive Walk, and attractions including a spa, casino, Universal Studios Singapore® theme park, S.E.A. Aquarium™, Adventure Cove Waterpark™. It’s also a stroll from VivoCity shopping mall and 10 minutes from Singapore’s Central Business District. Transfer time from Singapore Airport: 25 minutes.

All rooms with Simmons ‘Cool Max’ bed, state-of-the-art entertainment system with 42” flat-screen LCD TV with more than 28 channels (including Hard Rock Music Video Channel), WiFi*, tea/coffee maker, symbolic guitar amenity tray, bottled mineral water, safe, and iron and board. Deluxe Rooms have portraits of Rock 'n' Roll legends, with 1 king-size bed or 2 double beds, and a pullout bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Deluxe Suites have a connecting lounge and bedroom, a well-stocked mini-bar, and a bathroom with special lighting giving a rock star dressing room feel, and a shower and large bathtub. Each suite has 1 king-size bed, and a pullout bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Rock Star Suite has a large pool-facing balcony (for views of live performances), a spacious living area, a well-stocked mini-bar, a pantry area with microwave and fridge, and special bathroom lighting giving a rock star dressing room feel. It has 1 king-size bed, and 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 6 adults or 4 adults and 4 children.

Starz Restaurant (International buffet, open for breakfast, lunch, High Tea, and dinner) and Rock to Go (deli). 2 bars including Rock Pool Bar (swim-up bar) and The Rock Bar. Outdoor lagoon swimming pool (with sandy beach, beach volleyball court, poolside cabanas*, and music). 24-hour Body Rock® Fitness Center. My mum and niece served their quarantine order at the hotel. The catered food is cold and undetectable. Service at the hotel is slow and unwelcoming which is unacceptable for a reputable hotel. Disappointing quarantine experience.

We stayed here for our SHN. There were four of us and they placed us in a small room without a balcony. When we asked if we could be transferred to another room they said we would have to pay for an adjoining room. Anyway overall experience wasn't good. The room was dirty. Fingerprints all over the windows. Sheets were stained and torn, there were four of us and only one bed was half made(sheets didn't even go all the way to the bottom of the mattress). Took three calls to get what we needed. We asked for coffee mugs and they said they'll see if they can... The hotel seemed understaffed and staff were poorly trained. The two times I happened to open the door to bring in our food (10mins after they rang the bell), staff were outside with their mask down over their chin. I mean I honestly worry for them this is an SHN facility. The food was a waste. The halal option was the best (if you like curry). No local option just international, halal or vegetarian. My kids couldn't bear the kids option which was the same as the international option (and comes with canned tea..). We just had to request for plain rice. We kept feeling this was a wasted opportunity. All the returnees are people who would stay in hotels and the management clearly didn't make any effort to protect the hotel's brand name. Instead of giving us four apples each meal (12 a day, 48 in 4 days-we had to stop the madness after that), and juice boxes and canned tea wrapped in plastic bags, army style, maybe a welcome basket with a few fruit, a large bottle of juice/water, snacks and a welcome note with important information/online shopping options etc (maybe surprise us at the end of the week with another batch of drinks/snacks/coffee/tea)? (The information sheet was a copy of a copy, and looked extremely unprofessional). At the end of it, maybe offer some package to encourage repeat stays, information of online shopping or something. Management seemed to have zero pride in their work. The fact that there are similar reviews to ours that go all the way back to August, means management has bothered or is ineffective in improving the experiences guests have here. As such, we will almost certainly never stay here again. Read less

I was stay before the pandemic...Nice hotel with the good location around the sentosa island, nice room with leaving and dinning room decorated with cristal chandelier, The junior suite room was great for this kind of hotel. The people said this hotel really noisy but not in my experiance.

I arrived at the hotel at 6pm on 30th Oct. I was given a room with a large window and no view. But for some odd reason I started to get very anxious for no reason. Nothing wrong with the hotel or room or service. Couldn't sleep that night. Next day morning I called up the duty manager and asked for a room change to one with a balcony to get some fresh air. The hotel obliged and moved me to a room with a balcony in the afternoon. After that my anxiety went away completely and I was able to spend the rest of my quarantine pleasantly. I got towels and coffee replenished whenever I requested. I was very happy with my stay. Would have been better if there was a glass for drinking water, a broom to clean the room, and a bucket with washing soap, since house keeping was not provided. Would like to personally thank the duty manager Mr. Jaya for making the room change. God bless! Read less

Really one of the worst hotel’s in all of Singapore with absolutely the worst service. Sticky floors, dirty rooms while checking in and once I complained they sent me towels to clean the floor instead of a room change.
