My wife and I stayed here for a weekend staycation June 27-29, 2020. The great part of the trip was the service from the hotel staff that we encountered. On June 28, 2020, we rented a cabana by the adult pool. Best decision of our trip for reasons explained below. Jesus, who took and delivered food and drink orders to those by the adult pool was great. He was very friendly and just great to deal with. He took great care of us and those around us all day, in the high 90 something degree heat. The ladies who worked at the deli were also great and provided excellent customer service. Their sandwiches are freshly made when you order them, reasonably priced and a good alternative when you don't want a heavy restaurant meal. Their pastries and desserts were also good. All other staff that we encountered, including the housekeeping lady on our floor who I asked for a random roll of toilet paper (we had opted out of housekeeping) were great to deal with. The hotel and amenities are really nice. The pools, wave pool and lazy river are all great. Unfortunately, like a lot of hotels with such amenities, the number of people using those amenities exceeded the number of people those amenities could comfortable accommodate at times. This was especially true on the Saturday on which we checked in. By late afternoon on Saturday, it was impossible to find empty chairs by the pools or places to put your stuff. This hotel, like a lot of similar hotels, has no way to distinguish which chairs are actually being used by guests at the pool, vs those that have been abandoned or simply reserved first thing in the morning by people who have no intention of using them until later. The overcrowding was also seen in the wave pool and the lazy river. There were not enough inner tubes for the number of people in the lazy river. As a result there were a number of people just walking or swimming through the lazy river, including children who insisted on moving against the flow of the lazy river. I understand that this is just children being children, but I was concerned by the lack of supervision of children by parents. I also found it interesting that there appeared to be no staff members assigned to simply oversee the lazy river to ensure that rules are followed and that it did not become overcrowded. Finally, I was not expecting that people would be allowed to bring their alcoholic beverages (or beverages of any kind) while floating in the lazy river. As noted above, these problems are not unique to the amenities at this hotel, but I do find them more concerning in this COVID 19 era, where we are all encouraged to practice social distancing. This was not possible in the lazy river, wave pool or pool seating areas, at least on Saturday. Those above reasons led to our decision to rent a cabana on Sunday. Even though Sunday turned out to be markedly less crowded than Saturday, we were still glad we did. It was nice to have a reserved space where we could have shade and a ceiling fan with comfortable lounge chairs. Being able to rest and watch tv was nice too. This was our first time renting a cabana anywhere, so I don't know how the price of $325 compares to other resorts. Even though I felt it was a steep price, I do not regret the splurge. I really don't have much to say about our room. It was a king bed room that was clean and served its purpose. We were at the hotel primarily to relax and enjoy the pools. Not surprisingly the number of dining options were limited due to the current COVID 19 situation. For lunch, there was the deli, pool bar and Piper's Grille. Just be aware that Piper's Grille is 0.4 miles from the main lobby, and its a very hot and un-shaded walk when it is 97 degrees. If we had gone a second time we would have driven. Besides a lunch at Piper's Grille, we only ate at the deli or the pool bar on the day we had the cabana. The only critique of any of the food we had would be the calamari from the pool bar. The breading was the palest I have ever had for calamari, and it didn't really stick to the squid - almost as if it could have spent more time in the fryer. All in all, I would recommend this hotel to others. I would caution them to try and pick days other than Saturdays if they are banking on having an easy time using the amenities. On Sunday it was much easier to enjoy the lazy river and other amenities with the significantly diminished crowd size. Read less

I had stayed here several years ago and decided to return to this hotel because of the experience I had the first time. The resort did not disappoint! Staff all wore masks and anyone handling food had on rubber gloves. Our room had a great view of the pool and golf course. There were a few times that we had the entire adult pool to ourselves, or there were only a couple of other people there. As the weekend came, there were more people at the resort for a wedding making it more crowded. I would definitely stay here again. The location is perfect if you want to visit any of the theme parks. It is about a 10-15 minute drive to Disney. Read less

We decided to take our family on a long weekend getaway to the Omni. I found a great deal and my kids loved that there were slides and a wave pool. We arrived on a Thursday, there is no valet or bellman, this is stated online. We checked in and went up to our room. We had a terrible parking lot view and our neighbors had some things out on the balcony we didn’t want the kids to see/be around so we quickly asked to switch rooms. The manager moved us to a new room with a better view right away and addressed the issue with the other guest. The rooms are nice, plenty of space for the 4 of us, the bathroom was large. There is no housekeeping right now so we did have to go to the front desk for wash cloths and toilet paper. My husband would bag the trash and drop it off at the housekeeping area on our floor. I thought the hotel lobby was really pretty! The hotel staff all wore masks, plenty of signs and markings on the floor to keep people distanced. The only food options were David’s for breakfast and dinner and Croc’s (poolside) for lunch. By Saturday the Broadway Deli opened and I believe Zen opened. We only at a Croc’s once, the food wasn’t great especially for the price. We ended up leaving for lunch and dinner the rest of the weekend. But the bar staff at Croc’s was awesome! Also, Shannon at Croc’s was amazing as well! She works at Disney also and she loved talking Disney with our daughter! She even traded a pin with her! The pool area was not busy Thursday and Friday. We would just hop from pool to pool and move our belongings. Saturday was much busier. All the chairs were filling up and there really wasn’t any socially distancing around the pool. But most people were not just lounging in their chairs, so we were not piled on top of one another. The wave pool is great, the slides were a lot of fun, we enjoyed floating along the lazy river. There is also an adult pool that was empty on our first 2 days. There is also putt putt and two big fire pit areas to roast marshmallows for s’mores in the evening. (They only had s’mores kits one night I believe) This is a great spot for a weekend getaway! We had a great time and look forward to returning in the future. Read less

We have stayed at 7 different Omni properties and this shouldn't be in the same category. While Covid and Phase 1 reopening might explain some misses, based on 3 other property stays in the same week, it can't explain the service failures here. No valet, bellman, or in-room dining. No GHA Discovery recognition or perks provided. Rooms are big,… Read more

While Covid and Phase 1 reopening might explain some misses, based on 3 other property stays in the same week, it can't explain the service failures here. No valet, bellman, or in-room dining. No GHA Discovery recognition or perks provided. Rooms are big, property has many family friendly features, but this is not the place for a relaxing stay or a couple retreat. Originally a 2 star review, I've changed it to a 3 star rating because the manager cared enough to follow up on my concerns and outlined changes they are taking to improve the experience. Read less

Overall The Omni was a nice trip. We live a few hours away so it was a local trip for us and we only stayed overnight. We went during the week and the amenities were not crowded and we had room for social distancing. Check in was a breeze and the workers were very nice. The wait for food at Crocs was longer than promised. We were standing there waiting and our food was in a bag on the counter. We asked several times if it was ours and the worker said no. Well after he continued to looked at us for 15 mins he finally checked and it was our food sitting there the whole time. It took 40+ mins from ordering until the bag was handed to us and of course our nachos were soggy. The room is as expected, clean, and quiet. Unfortunately our little one got sick on the bed/sheets before during bedtime. We contacted the desk and they sent someone to clean it up very quickly. Thank you very much to George from housekeeping who was pleasant and efficient. He got us fixed up right away so our little one could go right back to bed. Overall, our kids enjoyed the pools. It wasn't too busy on Friday, but showed signs of being very busy on Saturday (chairs filling up by 10am). We will go again after our kids get a little older and will enjoy the amenities more and after Covid has passed. Read less
