Thank you One and Only for being our friends for 4 weeks, amazing staff, very good food, excellent service and especially we loved the pool/beach restaurant la Pointe with the staff there! We did excursions in the island but mostly we loved staying in the hotel, doing waterskiing, glass bottom boat, canoeing, all complementary and beach games.

me and my family (wife and our two sons 7 & 9 y o spent almost 3 weeks at the OO in July. I organized everything directly with the hotel. Already during that procedure the service was outstanding thanks to Sunita and other team members .Since I am bound to a wheelchair there were a lot of details to be sorted out in advance. The pick-up from the airport was perfectly organized by concierge service. We stayed in a seafront terrace room which was nicely decorated and spacious just steps away from the beach and sea. From the terrace you stepped directly in the gardens between the palmtrees. All groundfloor rooms are easily accessable by Wheelchair. Also all restaurants are wheelchair accessable (the japanese was unfortunately closed for renovatiojn) July is wintertime in Mauritius. as a consequence the hotel was not fully booked and the beaches have lots of space and sunbeds which we prefer vs crowded beaches with tens or more of sunbeds in a row all occupied with people. The weather was very nice except for the last three or four days when it rained during the day. The boys enjoyed the wonderful beaches, the heated pools, the kids club with tennis, soccer, putting and other activities. In terms of watersports there was free tube rinding, water ski, pedalo, hoby cat sailing. scuba diving lessons (not free of charge) lots of excursions can be organised either directly with the hotel or locals strolling the beach and offering therir services. My wife visited the spa a few times and was very satisfied with the treatments. We had breakfast and dinner every day at the main restaurant La Trassse. The breakfast offered a huge selection of fresh fruits(passion fruit, papaya. pineapple, bananas, oranges, bilimbi, fresh juices, eggs various style, asian , indian breakfast, even pizza (my sons loved that!!!!) huge selection of cereals, yoghurts, waffles you name it. The dinner buffet was overwhelming:antipasti, selection of Sushi, fresh sea urgins, ceviche, smoked Marlin, large salad buffet ,lamb, chicken, Dorade, shrimps, chicken liver, pizza, pasta, fish was prepared different styles in banana leaf, babecued etc, Chinese, Tandoori, curry, various Chinese dishes including Bejjing duck and dim sum indian/creole curries and last but not least one entire room with excellent deserts only. There are cooking stations distributed throughout the entire buffet so all dishes are hot or freshly cooked to your order. the staff was extremely helpful throughout the facility and in the restaurants.they very attentevely assisted me to get food from the buffet, namely Vaya who was kind of my personal butler at the restaurant. The bathroom was spacious with gripbars in the walk-in/roll-in shower. shower chair. the toilet was missing a gripbar though, which I mentioned to the reception staff. However, since I could take the wheelchair inside I could manage. there is one toilet for handicapped near the main restaurant. we all had a wonderful time and would return any time.I intentionally chose Mauritian winter time because it is not as hot as the summer in Europe. Read climate information before you go then you can't be disappointed. most of the time we had sun und moderate temperatures of 25C to 28C day and night. Read less
