Image of the Tripadvisor rating A place for young families with children

I would recommend the Kauai Beach Resort only to young families with children. If one came to Kauai for hiking, it’s much better to stay at North side or inside the Waimea Canyon State Park. I would recommend the Kauai Beach Resort only to young families with children. If one came to Kauai for hiking, it’s much better to stay at North side or inside the Waimea Canyon State Park. If one came to the island for water sport, North and South sides are better than the East side where the hotel is located. As a matter of fact, hotel’s beach is not useful at all because of rough water and wooden debris. I stayed at this hotel in June 2020, just after a mandatory quarantine for Hawaii residents was lifted. The hotel was still under renovation with a lot of workers around. A gym was closed, hot tubes by pools did not work, a restaurant worked for take out only. The room 1306 in the Building #1 was assigned to me and my wife. It faced pools and was pretty noisy. The room had a small lanai and was spacious and clean, except for a carpet with dirty spots. I am sorry to say that COVID-19 rules are not enforced at hotel’s premises. Sanitizers are not available at the entrance and by elevators. Most people do not wear face masks by pools and at a bar. Read less

We took advantage of the discount that this resort was offering for local residents with a valid HI driver's license. I can see why this hotel is called a RESORT. First class all the way. We took advantage of the discount that this resort was offering for local residents with a valid HI driver's license. I can see why this hotel is called a RESORT. First class all the way. The lobby was nice and we were greeted by Kalei Kuhaulua (security) and checked in by Kenny Dato at the front desk. Both of these outstanding team members continued to greet us during our visit. Truly gave world class service. We had an updated room with a pool/ocean view. The hotel was spotless. Due to COVID 19 - only take out was available from the hotel, but it was great and Chef Mark had a special every day in addition to standard salads and sandwiches. The staff practiced masks and social distancing and we were very comfortable and felt safe. There were multiple pools, once with sand and a direct ocean view. Will absolutely visit this resort again, and use it as our "go to" when guests can once again visit from out of town. Read less

We decided to visit Kauai for our honeymoon, and were so happy to have stayed at Kauai Beach Resort. The grounds are beautiful with the various pools, and ocean front access for morning and evening walks. Couldn't be happier.

My sister and I spent a week at the Kauai Beach Resort, it was beautiful and we had a great time! The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the rooms comfortable. I was a bit disappointed because we could not swim at the beach at the resort due to rough surf and coral and rocks at the edge of the sand. However, there are gorgeous beaches about 15 minutes away and the pools at the resort are awesome! I loved the chickens, and got used to the crowing. I was in Hawaii, no time to sleep in, gotta get to the beach early! 😁 The reception by the pool was nice and I enjoyed the Mai Tai, Hula dancing and Hawaiian music. Meeting the dancers was a special treat. The landscaping at the resort is well done. So many beautiful plants and flowers! The food at the resort was very good but a bit pricey. However, the prices WERE comparable to the other nice restaurants in town. We had to check out early and our flight out didn’t leave until almost midnight, but the resort stored our luggage so we could hit the beach for the afternoon and allowed us to change in the conference center restrooms before our flight home. I highly recommend this resort and its Hawaiian hospitality! Read less
