Ayodya Resort

Nusa Dua, Bali

The hotel

Your very own Balinese water palace, the exquisite Ayodya Resort Bali sits in 11.5 hectares of glorious gardens, filled with temple-style buildings and reflective lakes, which wind around its swimming pools before flowing down to a beach that’s often scattered with colourful beanbags and fringed Balinese parasols. The interiors are as authentic as the architecture, featuring opulent fabrics, dark woods, and ornamental fretwork. The entertainment continues the theme, with soothing spa treatments competing with weekly dinner shows at the resort’s Balinese Theatre, where mythical and magical dance performances are accompanied by the Gamelan orchestra’s music – and by Indonesian and international buffets (for other meals you have everything from 24-hour international dining to fine Italian, Japanese, and barbecue options). Even little guests get local experiences, with turtle releases and fish feeding in between fun at Camp Ananda and swims in their own children’s pool.

Facilities has a nice outside atmosphere and near the beach but the rooms are very old with dated amenities. There are charges to use almost everything at the resort. We found 2 lizards in our room...

We asked for a quiet room, being with a baby 19 months old. We got room 1169, far from the lobby and main restaurants, close to pool. We asked for a quiet room, being with a baby 19 months old. We got room 1169, far from the lobby and main restaurants, close to pool. At 11:00 daytime, loud club music was playing, disturbing our baby nap time. In the evening, after bedtime, some noisy trolley was carried on the hallway. The resort was fabulous when it was new..., now it shows its age, it should be completely closed and renovated, imo. It is a pity! Such a beautiful place! But lacking proper maintenance. The worst thing in the room was the fact that there is no good shower. The only shower cabin has a wall mounted shower head, and the pressure is EXTRA STRONG. It was hurting me! It was impossible to give a shower to my baby! The baby crib we got was old and squeaking, with a side lock broken, absolutely unsafe! They are only cleaning the room once a day, they are not preparing it for bedtime. Once they even left garbage. Good things: - nice gardens, good for taking nice strolls around; - good service, prompt; - ok buffets - we had breakfast and dinner, but they are charging for water (or any drinks) during dinner. We have mixed feelings about the resort... Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Be aware this hotel has bus loads of Chinese coming daily ese tourist

Dec 1, 2019 Leigh H Karratha, Australia

The Chinese came in the big tour buses daily. They were rude and spent no money at the hotel. They took over at breakfast and were constantly knocking on our door at all hours. We did not see any other Australians there during our weeks stay. Even though the hotel was nice eating in was very expensive and the food wasn't that good. I wouldn't stay… Read more
