The hotel

The Fairmont couldn’t be more convenient placed for travellers, its right inside the airport! Don’t let the thought of noisy planes put you off though, it’s completely soundproof ensuring a peaceful stay in the height of luxury. You don’t even need a shuttle bus; the lobby extends right onto the concourse, the first hotel in Canada to do so! World-class amenities include a state-of-the-art health club with indoor swimming pool, a children’s wading pool and saunas. There is also the Absolute Spa offering a whole range of treatments to effectively combat jetlag — perfect for those who want to be on top form right from the word ‘go’! Dining is also a treat at the Fairmont with the award-winning Globe at YVR Restaurant not to be missed. What’s more, children 5 years and under eat free in the restaurant with children between 6 and 12 years half price! The Jetside Bar is also very popular and make sure you indulge in afternoon tea, a great tradition at the Fairmont with specially-blended teas and a delicious variety of house-made cakes and pastries.

The stay was great sad to be told to wait for shuttle when I was picked up doormen upon arrival at south terminal. I wonder what the difference was when checking out? The rest of the stay was great. Thanks

Didn’t get to spend as much time here as I thought - due to delayed inbound flight. Room was excellent - bed very comfortable, massive bath, personalised toiletries and very clean. Liked the touch of having a telescope and plane identifying guide in the room. Had an early breakfast in the lounge - staff very friendly.

Like most people we chose this hotel because of location and circumstances. As a Fairmont branded hotel it certainly lived up to its name, superb quiet room, great view for plane spotters! spotlessly clean and excellent service, highly recommended.

If you have a layover or a plane delay/cancellation, you don't want to stay in the airport if you don't have to. At the Vancouver Airport, at least you have some options to make your 'cancellation' stay a little more bearable. They have a good choice in food items and enough art pieces to break the monotony.
