Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore is an elegant, beautifully furnished hotel right in the centre of Singapore, within easy walking distance of the bustling Orchard Road and its many shops and entertainment venues. 792 rooms spread over 3 distinctive wings. All with air-conditioning, satellite TV, tea/coffee maker, mini-bar*, complimentary WiFi, safe, iron and board and hairdryer. The Tower Wing has recently undergone a makeover and proudly displays a new lobby and refreshed guest rooms including the new Themed Family Suites. Tower Wing Deluxe Rooms with either city or a pool views through floor-to-ceiling windows and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults. These rooms include breakfast.

How exciting I was to be back at cocktails in the Horizon club, Singapore sling please, er sorry sir we dont do that any more! Your kidding right? thats like going to Ireland and not been able to have a Guinness in a 5 star Dublin hotel. Nibbles how nice will that be, pretty dam average, massive let down from every other time here. 2nd ight came back from a night out with friends thought we would have a drink in the Origin Bar, not many in sat at the bar only to be told in 30mins a group had pre booked every bar stool at the bar! Your kidding right you let guests book the entire bar stools, what this gives is a impression of your not welcome. We were offered a seat but by then felt under valued as a paying guest. So off we went to the lobby bar. Can we grab a drink and take it outside, its such a wonderfull evening, NO NO NO you cant thats against the lobby rules, oh ok where can one get a drink and sit outside, you cant they said, So we are in a 5 star hotel and theres no chance we can enjoy the evening in the fresh air, to that the bar person, had a think and said try Limes restaurant, so off we went, sure you can sit outside but we close at 10. Oh ok so after that we can not get a drink and sit outside in this Hotel, No sorry sir you cant. So off we went to bed. Breakfast next day lets have a swim, and maybe we can book a table for after the swim. The lady at the breakfast counter allowed me to say can we book a table for 10am ( this was 8am ) before ripping into us about a slippers not been allowed, Your ++++ ++ kidding me, we were dressed for a swim not a bacon butty. We know the rules, she was just like a snapping crocodile out of order. Breakfast was excellent as ever, so were the wait staff. I did ask to see the manger and express my dissatisfaction but that did not happen. So a combination of things made the stay very negative. I am due back in Singapore a few more times in the next 6 months and i am unsure if i will stay here again. Should also note that you dont get exclusive horizon club breakfast as its closed due to good old COVID. The staff there were however helpfull and chatty. Read less

We are currently staying at this hotel as we booked 10 nights stay here. We chose this hotel because of their great facilities and services during our previous stays before Covid 19. Unfortunately, we found that the services so far we have now cannot match with the old days.. The Horizon Club is finally reopened just before we come, however, it doesn’t offer breakfast. Staff there are not friendly and no warm greetings. The opening hours only starts from noon. It has not yet back to full services. All check in and check out must be done in the lobby but not in the club lounge. Housekeeping is very disappointed. Bath towels and toiletries not filled up after make-up. How can the turn down service doesn’t include cleaning our trash bin?? Are they expecting us to call the housekeeping to remind them for each and every missing items? As we cannot have breakfast in the club lounge, we can only have breakfast at the Line. Food there still good with many varieties. However, it is just too busy. Some guests go around In the buffet counters without masks. We thought wearing mask indoor is strictly required in Singapore government, especially the number of cases is going up again. While we can see the staff there are trying hard to clean up the tables and refill food. perhaps they should also remind the guests about keeping up the level of hygiene when necessary. Read less

They obviously get your payment in advance, your security deposit and at the end of they stay they charged whatever they want without a reason. They obviously get your payment in advance, your security deposit and at the end of they stay they charged whatever they want without a reason. In my case, they charged me with 282 SGD without any explanation. At least 90 minutes on the nobody knows why the charge happen therefore they cannot reserve the charge. At least I made a "friend" at the Reservations Team, Mr Troy Chua, but this friend cannot help as his IT system doesn't allow him to see the credit card charges, despite keeping me on the line for more than 20 minutes. This is what I call a scam! Avoid this hotel at all cost. There are many other options in Singapore. The whole experience reminds me of visiting Mainland China 20 years ago. The cherry on the cake is that juices in the breakfast were canned. Yes in a 200$ a night hotel!! .... a sheer scam!! Read less

Wasn’t briefed verbally on the horizon club entitlement benefits but nevertheless,the duty front desk manager,Ms Pierre was very understanding towards us and managed to accommodate our requests and in doing so,and I was able to surprise my wife for her birthday w/o any hiccups. Mr Sharmah from the bell desk was also very helpful in assisting us with storing our luggages and was providing us with info for dinner plans and had some part to play with my surprise for my partner. Overall,the start of the staycation wasn’t as expected but other than that,the stay was exemplary and good Read less
