Parker Palm Springs

Palm Springs, USA

The hotel

Cheeky yet civilised, Parker Palm Springs lives up to its belief ‘you are only young once… but you can be immature forever’ by throwing in witty twists to desert living. After all, who said a desert-bound hotel couldn’t have a yacht club? (To be fair PSYC’s actually more ‘American country club’, with tennis, spa, and 24-hour fitness zones). The Parker’s inexplicably lush gardens host highbrow petanque and croquet, while its three pools include a 24-hour adult only pool, its rooms promise WiFi, and its dining spans Norma’s diner-style comfort food, Mini Bar’s sharing boards, and the seductively indulgent bistro, Mister Parker’s. And it’s all near downtown Palm Springs and El Paseo Drive, with local attractions including Moorten Botanical Garden and Cactarium, the Rimrock and Canyon Plaza shopping centres, the convention centre, and Knott’s Soak City Palm Springs.

We visited the Parker as a multi generational family trip and it was a wonderful selection because there were many activity options. The grounds are beautiful and have matured well over the years and are wonderful for a stroll. Activities included bocci ball, tennis, croquet, gym, badminton, with two pools one of which is designated for families with children the other for adults. Each pool provides drink and food service. The pool servers were friendly and attentive. Near the adult pool there is a lemonade stand for both alcoholic and nonalcoholic selections which was a nice spot to enjoy a cocktail and the surrounding gardens. One evening we enjoyed time around the campfire to enjoy conversation and s'mores. A good place to meet other guests. The provided ingredients and and sticks for the s'mores were way too expensive. Our room was in the north building close to the pools. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Bed was great as were the linens, towels and amenities. I noticed when asked on trip advisor the Parker mentioned that coffee machines are provided in suites. Since this the Parker is part of Leading Hotels it would be appropriate to provide coffee machines in all of the rooms preferably Nespresso machines. While I mentioned that the room was comfy, it could also benefit by some attention and update. We enjoyed the bar in the main reception area, the casual patio restaurant,(Breakfast was really tasty although a bit pricy.) and Mr.Parker the fine dining restaurant. All were exceptional. The staff at the Parker is the best, all of them! Read less

Beautiful property, great service. Rooms are ample and cozy. Grounds well kept, with sculptures, a nice fire pit and two pools to choose from. The bar is a bit small and getting a drink can be challenging when crowded, but the restaurant is very nice.

So relaxing, excluded, amazing food and staff! Best part was the PSYC pool and steam with an ice cold cucumber towel for the face! Lastly, best lemonade stand in the country...so refreshing during a poolside chill session!

It really just is so cool. With the curious tall doors that great you, and the dark and mysterious lobby - it really is an experience from start to finish. My husband, Dan and I, have nothing but AMAZING things to say about our experience at the Parker Hotel. I first fell in love with the hotel over 8 years ago and knew it was the only place in the world I wanted to get married at. Shannon Romijn (catering manager) and Steven Preston (Banquet Director) made every visit that we had, memorable and hospitable! Steven is incredible at making drinks and invented my signature cocktail for our wedding called 'The Dallas'! (Everyone needs to go and try it out- it is incredible!!) Shannon & Steven always went out of their way to come say hello and to give us a giant welcome every single time we flew in from out of town and walked through the grand Orange Parker doors. Beyond those two examples, Shannon organized and kept me in the loop as our wedding date was fast approaching and because my husband and I live in Canada, the only way to communicate was via email and phone calls, but she went above and beyond to ensure me everything was running smoothly for the past 6 months and she actually made wedding planning enjoyable and stress-free! Both Shannon and Steven have such likeable personalities, their organizational skills are over the top and both have the biggest and sweetest hearts! I honestly can't rave enough about the quality of the staff and the great pride each and every person at the hotel has for ensuring your stay and/or wedding/event is exceptional! Oh AND they allowed us to bring in JLO's carousel she used for her most recent music video for our wedding!!! Not many places allow you to be so 'extra' ;) We will be back to the Parker Hotel Palm Springs every single year for our anniversary and continue to visit a few other times throughout the year because it is just that GREAT!
