Parker Palm Springs

Palm Springs, USA

The hotel

Cheeky yet civilised, Parker Palm Springs lives up to its belief ‘you are only young once… but you can be immature forever’ by throwing in witty twists to desert living. After all, who said a desert-bound hotel couldn’t have a yacht club? (To be fair PSYC’s actually more ‘American country club’, with tennis, spa, and 24-hour fitness zones). The Parker’s inexplicably lush gardens host highbrow petanque and croquet, while its three pools include a 24-hour adult only pool, its rooms promise WiFi, and its dining spans Norma’s diner-style comfort food, Mini Bar’s sharing boards, and the seductively indulgent bistro, Mister Parker’s. And it’s all near downtown Palm Springs and El Paseo Drive, with local attractions including Moorten Botanical Garden and Cactarium, the Rimrock and Canyon Plaza shopping centres, the convention centre, and Knott’s Soak City Palm Springs.

Probably the best toiletries in the bathroom we had ever seen at a hotel. Charming layout of restaurants, gardens, hotel rooms, and spa. You never need to leave the grounds but at the prices in the restaurants...you really should.

We had a blast and can not wait to return for our next stay. The hotel thought of everything. The staff consistently went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful stay. The vibe was fun, the spa was luxurious, the food was great, the rooms were clean.

We came here highly recommended by a friend who got us a night here for our honeymoon. Our wedding was very small and private, and we considered this stay a “mini moon”. We intended to only stay in one of the smaller rooms, but as we checked in, we were told we were upgraded to a villa. From that moment on, we knew this stay was going to be different. We were escorted to our villa by Erica who checked us in. We were given chocolates as a congratulations to our new marriage which came with a nice card. The property is gorgeous and very private. It absolutely made our honey moon. We can’t wait to come back and just enjoy ourselves. This place is great especially if you enjoy privacy. Read less

Toured the grounds and ate breakfast at Norma's. After visiting several hotels as part of a plan for future trips to Palm Springs, this is my #1 hotel. Would absolutely recommend staying here- it is everything you want in a luxury boutique experience. If you want a Palm Springs hideaway where you don't need to leave, this is it. Would absolutely recommend staying here- it is everything you want in a luxury boutique experience. If you want a Palm Springs hideaway where you don't need to leave, this is it. The grounds are immense. So private and beautiful. two pool areas, one for adults only, one for kiddos of all ages. Definitely worth staying here. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating One of my favorite hotels but massages overpriced

This is always one of my favorite hotels. The grounds, the facilities, the rooms, are all just great. It really is a desert oasis. Can't get enough of it. The massages however are SHOCKINGLY overpriced. WOW. I never realised that before. Speechless. I stay in leading hotels frequently. I know what the upper limit is for a top hotel massage. Two ordinary massages in the Parker (60 mins but actually 50 mins in reality) are nearly $500 (circa $490). That's insane and ruins the experience. It's literally egregious pricing. Top hotel massage should be and are generally no more than $150 each including tax and tip. $300 for two. The Parker is more like $245 per massage. That is agressively overpriced and it leaves a sour taste about the spa. I can't fault anythign else about this hotel. I love it. But the spa treatment prices are really over the top and not worth the price. I urge you to do some benchmarking and arrive somewhere within the average, not way at the top end. You are above the Beverly Hills Hotel in massage pricing - a prime city location ultra luxury hotel - which is about as expensive as a hotel or massage should ever be anywhere and you cannot justify that. The spa pricing is wrong, it needs trimming. Everything else is wonderful. Read less
