Image of the Tripadvisor rating Do not stay - construction noise

Apr 11, 2024 Climber26122225651

Do not stay for now. I am awaken by construction noises every night at around 3:30pm. I specifically asked for a room that was quiet and away from any noise as I am a light sleeper. They did offer me to move rooms but such an inconvenience to repack and unpack again.

This hotel is five stars on the inside - great amenities, delicious restaurant, amazing customer service (literally everyone was incredibly helpful and friendly), beautiful rooms and bathrooms, super comfy beds, great pool area, excellent coffee shop....but, there is sooooooo much noise in the surrounding area - beware! Local nightlife spots are right outside the windows and play nightclub music til 2am many nights. We switched our first room #520 and would never, ever accept a room on that side of the hotel again. Our second room #1009 was poolside and it was much better, but strangely music started out there very loudly one morning at about 7am! I would say the higher the floor, the less noise you might have. Complaint Details filed with the BBB and no response from sage hospitality group or this hotel: I booked for12/12 to 12/16 I quoted $1297.10. My flight arrived at 11:55pm to Austin. I was told2pay for the12th. I arrived @4am from San Antonio I was out in another flight with was to San Antonio not Austin as it was originally. w/Uber, I headed to Austin to get my bags they were not there my Austin flight was over booked on 12/12 so to San Antonio I went. I called a few days prior to update my new Card as I just opened a new bank account as well… However, lost it from Chicago, bags were left in Chicago and would arrive 12/13 to Austin. I got Austin airport no Bags then called another Uber to the hotel. I told the rep what told the recep what happen my sister called her card in as she worked nights and it was after 4am.Since it was an emergency They ran her card which I was greatful for and not the Normal but it was an emergency. I went to Austin airport the next day to get my bags by Uber. Got back and I was told the mgt Brian decided to lock me out I was pissed off bc he was no where to be found. And I had to go see my kid and attend a wedding which I was late to. Eventually, he showed up He, apologize when I was already pissed oft and that why didn’t they communicate this to me ? I spoke to him and he said he needed my sisters info, as we went to my room. I gave him my sister's info and told him to call after 4pm she works nights. He said ok. I left to visit a friend after the wedding returned after ten I was locked out again I was upset and they fixed it. The next day I had him and a female come up and tell they needed to secure Payment if not I would be asked to leave. He said said they only Secured one payment. However, he told me prior he was able to speak with my sister I wasn’t told the Payment declined.i found out later they this hotel ran her credit card 5 times after she authorized once. I have the screen shots of it being ran and the bank locking it up. The next day in the morning, I was booking a car, I called the front desk and told the front desk that I would come down after. I communicated always with the front desk and Brian. I cleaned my room, showered &rented a car to see my kid. Later, Brian came up again with a female and locksmith or some older white guy. He came to open my room and kick me out. I told him I wasn’t going to leave before I stopped at the front as I was able to fix my card issues usaa is located in Texas I knew I had to give them a credit card bc according to them my sisters card declined.. well if they would of not swiped five times maybe it wouldn’t of .. either way I guess I was taking to long for them and they came in three to kick my butt out...He Brian made me fell like a criminal as if I stealing & I am a disabled veteran. I paid for one stay and stated I was checking out asap for crap service. My sister paid for one night to bc according to them that’s all that went through. The next day I wanted to speak to him bc they ran my sister card 5 times causing it to decline my sister sent me the screen shots. I asked for copies of what was pay to the hotel I have both receipts my sis authorize to run once why was it ran five times? Brian said the bank puts a hold Yes, but it had to be run by them before it even gets held either way even though I didn’t have my physical card it would of avoided all this by running my updated carded I called in as soon as I got in bc I called the hotel Right away to update it.. Brian, lied and his staff ran my sisters card multiple time he gave me a bs story & a terrible stay..he was no where to be found the last day and I wanted to curse him out. I was pissed never not once have I stolen or felt as I did and felt like a criminal on top of my emergency, the whole trip was a disaster with the stay at this crappy hotel with a crappy view of construction. The only good thing was the bathtub so I want them to refund me both stay because I was supposed to stay there longer and I fixed my card, but with bringing a locksmith or operations engineer, whoever he was to unlock my door when he could’ve called I kept all communication open. What is your malfunction that you failed to communicate with me? It’s not my fault. Your staff didn’t tell you that I called on multiple occasions, so that poor leadership and additionally, my sister authorized one swipe not five and they could’ve charged me on the card. I updated a few days prior to my arrival. They could’ve charged all of it or called my bank to verify that that was my card. Read less
