An outstanding hotel that is everything you expect from Hyatt. The staff is terrific, everyone I encountered was helpful, friendly, awesome. I'm bad at names but the woman who checked me in (Aiden? maybe? definitely started with an "A") could not have been more wonderful. An outstanding hotel that is everything you expect from Hyatt. The staff is terrific, everyone I encountered was helpful, friendly, awesome. I'm bad at names but the woman who checked me in (Aiden? maybe? definitely started with an "A") could not have been more wonderful. It's an 'old-school' Hyatt, which is NOT a negative... what I mean is that it is one of the Hyatt hotels that have the incredible atrium from lobby to the top of the hotel 17 floors up. Both levels of the lobby are lovely, and both have water bottle fillers, big plus, and, again, I love how open and full of light they are, given the atrium. The gym area is really nice, with everything you need and the pool is larger and deeper than most pools in new hotels. Another plus is that you can walk out of the pool area right onto the path that goes along Town Lake, another big plus. And if your room is on the lake side, you can watch the bats at twilight. The room was typically comfortable, clean and lovely, Very comfy bed. Great place! I look forward to staying again. Read less

Location great with river view. But service levels woeful and hotel could do with a refurb. On arrival asked if needed housekeeping for a three day stay. No water in room and empty mini bar. Service on terrace lamentable: couldn't get attention table had waste from previous guests. Breakfast extra. Coffee tasted like dishwater, orange juice not fresh, hot food on buffet coagulation, bread boring, sliced and unappeyising. Gym fine but swimming pool still closed for cleaning at 9am. Coffee shop an unimpressive Starbucks. Plenty of parking but very pricey and confusing. Normally I like Hyatt. This one needs a makeover. Read less

They were very efficient at providing the buffet meals - almost too efficient. The minute ours plates were empty, they were removing everything, including cutlery and napkins. If you wanted seconds, there was a big waste of washing silverware and napkins. Our room had a nice view of the river. Housekeeping was spotty. The first day they arrived late afternoon. But they left extra items like dental flossers and makeup removers. However, they didn't replace those. Prices at the restaurant and bar were ridiculously high. We didn't eat or drink there. I chose the HR because I wanted a 4-star hotel overlooking Lady Bird Lake and close to Congress bridge. Our higher floor, Riverview room had spectacular views of the lake, beautiful city skyline and Congress Avenue Bridge. I considered a balcony room, but I liked the idea of seeing more of the city skyline from inside the room. The room was clean and the bed comfortable with soft sheets. The hotel staff were courteous and helpful. The front desk asked at check in if we wanted daily housekeeping and I said “yes” knowing that daily cleanings are now sometimes by request only. We saw the Congress Bridge bats at sunset (takes about 10 minutes to walk over from the hotel). By the way, the best spots for viewing are around the pillars, where the bats fly out before taking off into the trees. There’s an onsite Starbucks in the hotel lobby which made grabbing a morning coffee or latte easy. The parking fee was expensive, but we knew that going in. It would have been nice if the hotel provided robes. Overall, this was an excellent choice based on our needs. Read less
