Rosewood Hotel Georgia

Vancouver, Canada

The hotel

Walk in the footsteps of Elvis Presley, Nat ‘King’ Cole and Katherine Hepburn as well as British royalty, all previous guests at this legendary downtown hotel. First opened in 1927, it quickly became known as Vancouver’s most elegant retreat and, having recently undergone a make-over, is still considered as such today. Guest rooms are extremely well appointed and have a residential feel to them with stunning cityscapes of Howe Street to the east or the historic Vancouver Art Gallery to the south. As well as a state-of-the-art fitness centre complete with indoor lap pool there is Sense, A Rosewood Spa® offering the ultimate spa experience with massage and beauty treatments galore. After your pampering session, unwind further in Reflections outdoor restaurant and lounge, the 4th-floor outdoor lounge for a freshly squeezed orange juice. Although you’re not far from a good choice of restaurants and bars, some of the city’s best are at the Rosewood itself! At Hawksworth, Vancouver’s premier chef David Hawksworth, offers an exquisite menu, utilising only the freshest local produce. Bel Cafe features patisserie-style baked goods and sandwiches whilst 1927 serves a casual lounge menu and some classic cocktails.

Stayed at many great hotels but the hotel concierge was amazing... even stopping traffic, walking us across the street so we were able to catch the hop on/ off bus. Great stay....brief but memorable. Restaurant can be very noisy....not the place for a cosy chat but great characters!

This hotel was near shopping and the downtown area. It was a short walk from the cruise ship pier and the convention center. The room we had was a deluxe room and it was beautiful. The room was quite large and comfortable. The bathroom was large with a good sized walk in shower, a large soaker tub, vanities on either side of the bathroom. The room also had a desk, couch and of course a king bed. The room overlooked Howe Street across from the Four Seasons but the street noise was not detectable. They also provided bottled water and tea type cookies each evening which was nice for our adventures around the city. A great place to stay near shopping and the downtown area. Read less

Room service food is good but not great; still, it's a good option for a late night snack in Vancouver where literally nothing is open late. The only little problem we had was that the first few days we stayed there we had a slightly bigger room with a small living room, which was mucho more comfortable than the second room we got, which didn't have this small living room and it felt mucho more crowded.
