Intercontinental Chicago

Chicago, USA

Virgin rating

The hotel

There are few better properties from where to enjoy the sights of Chicago and if you're hoping to shop 'til you drop or check out Lake Michigan's beaches, the Intercontinental allows you to do so in style. Thanks to a fabulous location right in the heart of Chicago's Magnificent Mile, take a visit to the Navy Pier, John Hancock Tower and the Shedd Aquarium which are all within walking distance from your front door. A quick explore of the hotel uncovers a couple of restaurants for all-day dining and there's no better place to enjoy a succulent piece of prime beef other than Michael Jordan's Steakhouse. More sustenance can be found in the ENO bar which has a plentiful selection of wines and cheese, although the Michael Jordan bar is always popular around nightcap time. Finally, if you're thinking up excuses to have a cheeky massage in the Windy City then the Intercontinental's spa* will no doubt be able to twist your arm although, a dip in the indoor pool or a few moments in the sauna also offer equally relaxing alternatives.

Great all around hotel! Would recommend for business or personal travel. Big bonus was the beautiful indoor pool, sauna and fitness room. Located right in the middle of downtown Chicago. Staff was also super friendly. Spotless rooms. No complaints!

Loved the staff, location and attention to detail. Just wished you had better circulation in the rooms and better beds. The pool was wonderful but wish it was a bit warmer or a landing area (not much you can do there with it being almost 100 years old). Loved the kids activities.

Everything was wonderful except I requested a rollaway bed and they said we needed to be in a different room for a rollaway bed but then when we got to the different room, they said that a rollaway bed would be a fire hazard so they never brought us one. we had to use an air mattress that we brought with us

I have stay in a lot of different hotels, for low brow to high class. The Intercontinental is one of the more beautiful places I’ve stay. The architecture of the hotel is second to none. But what sets this place apart from that is the people working here. I did not meet one person that did not go above and beyond to help me. Whatever management is… Read more

We stayed in a suite, which was the way to go if you have 4 guests. This hotel is in a great location on the magnificent mile, where many restaurants and shops are a 5-10 minute walk both north and south. The hotel was clean and has beautiful architecture. The bathrooms had great water pressure and were clean. The suite was spacious. There were enough desks and counter space to lay out your belongings. It has a 3 level fitness center. There’s a Starbucks attached to the hotel. The concierge and staff provided excellent customer service. I cannot recommend this hotel enough! Read less
