There are few better properties from where to enjoy the sights of Chicago and if you're hoping to shop 'til you drop or check out Lake Michigan's beaches, the Intercontinental allows you to do so in style. Thanks to a fabulous location right in the heart of Chicago's Magnificent Mile, take a visit to the Navy Pier, John Hancock Tower and the Shedd Aquarium which are all within walking distance from your front door. A quick explore of the hotel uncovers a couple of restaurants for all-day dining and there's no better place to enjoy a succulent piece of prime beef other than Michael Jordan's Steakhouse. More sustenance can be found in the ENO bar which has a plentiful selection of wines and cheese, although the Michael Jordan bar is always popular around nightcap time. Finally, if you're thinking up excuses to have a cheeky massage in the Windy City then the Intercontinental's spa* will no doubt be able to twist your arm although, a dip in the indoor pool or a few moments in the sauna also offer equally relaxing alternatives.

We got a king suite in the executive tower, which was essentially two rooms with an adjoining door with one of the rooms being a living room area. We had two bathrooms (huge benefit to us), two closets, two very large TVs, and two refrigerators. However, the room did not have a microwave, which was an inconvenience to us.
The room comfort and space were pretty good. Each bathroom had a shower stall and a tub. The sofa had a chaise section and pulled out into a bed. Had some problems with it sinking in the middle when sitting on it. There were several USB ports scattered about for charging phones and pads.
The staff were quite polished and very customer oriented. I did have a few minor issues though between having to follow up to receive coffee for the second day and having to call the hotel after the fact for a credit I didn’t receive.
The biggest issue we had was being able to hear street noise 26 floors up, which included police sirens and people drag racing on Michigan Avenue at night. The windows apparently aren’t sound proof.
Secondly, virtually no restaurant service, which left us leaving the hotel on a rainy weekend to find food. They had an oddly and poorly placed wine bar open, but the bar and the restaurant were not open. I had to use my ambassador club credit over at Starbucks, which was a zoo, but that is not reflected in this review. I left another review on that.
About the restaurant.......Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse?!?! They need to find something better than that.

Thank you for making our family’s little getaway excellent! Staff friendly and helpful. Only missed the option for breakfast but COVID messes everything up! Rooms comfortable and my kids were excited to get a suite! Thank you again!

Flew in on a red eye from California and was exhausted when I got to the hotel. The front desk staff (I wish I got his name) was able to get me a room as soon as possible and was able to rest and enjoy my day I’m Chicago.

Spent a few days exploring the city and decided to stay here based on location and because their indoor pool was open. We reserved a suite and were not disappointed..the room was beautiful, spacious and super comfortable. Everything was super clean and the staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Highly recommended! We will be back!

Payments are being prioritised based on when the request was made, working in order from March 2020 onwards. We will always try to process refunds at the earliest opportunity, for requests before August our maximum timeframe is 120 days. As we are steadily reducing the maximum processing time for each new request, for refund requests made in August, we expect the maximum processing time to be 80 days, from the date the refund is requested. For those requesting a refund in September, we expect it to be processed within a maximum of 60 days, and then reduce to 30 days for refunds requested in October, before returning to normal levels.
To finalise the amendment, one of our customer advisors will phone you. We need to work through amend requests in departure date order so we can prioritise those with the most imminent travel plans, so you may have a longer wait than usual until we’re able to ring you back. We will help everyone that wants to move their holiday.
