The hotel

Giving you a unique take on Nashville, staying ‘on campus’ at Vanderbilt University means you get to experience buzzing Music City like an undergrad – albeit one with better digs and free use of a fitness centre. Your setting lets you immerse yourself in the soul, spirit, and soundtrack of this sweet-sounding city, with sights like The Parthenon and Centennial Park within walking distance, and downtown destinations just a free shuttle trip down the road. And you can return for beer, cocktails, and American dishes around the flatscreen TVs at Park25 Bistro, in a swish setting that’s a far cry from a uni canteen.

Terrific room overlooking Vanderbilt football stadium. Above average fitness room with weight machines and cardio. Oversized M Lounge on first floor. Really nice bar with plenty of TVs. Short Uber ride to Broadway. Near strip mall with nice assortment of restaurants.

Coming from someone who travels for work regularly, and is a loyal Marriott guest, I absolutely blown away by a sweet gentleman that is part of the maintenance team. His name is Dre and he is my hero! My very special opal necklace fell into the sink and slid down the drain at midnight. In sheer panic I called the front desk expecting them to say they couldn’t send someone to help until the next morning. To my surprise Dre showed up and I’m not gonna lie... I was in tears thinking I would never see my necklace again. The newly renovated rooms have wood paneling that hides the drain line of the sinks but he didn’t care. He didn’t what he had to do to fish my necklace out of the drain. I am forever grateful that Dre went above and beyond to help me and was so kind. You are a true Gem yourself Dre!! During the same visit, Marshell (valet attendant) was extremely kind and friendly while taking care of guests Hustling to get in/out. It was raining and he still ran to get everyone’s vehicle, which was impressive. Thank you for a wonderful experience during this trip! Read less

It should be a very nice hotel once all the remodeling is complete. Read less

I arrived at noon on Saturday with no transportation to leave the hotel and cannot walk well. I requested lunch but was told there was only a breakfast buffet. I ate the buffet and enjoyed it. Later I went to two different floors before I found a Diet Mountain Dew every other Pepsi product was sold out. For the evening meal I went to the marketplace and there were was nothing to purchase. I walked across the street in the dark to a fast food restaurant. Again on Sunday, breakfast buffet for the morning. I did find a salad in the market place, however there was no salad dressing. Sunday evening I found a sandwich and chips. I asked for salad dressing and someone from room service brought some to my room. Monday and Tuesday was breakfast buffet again. Lunch was provided for the group I was with - it was very good. I do not understand why if they could cater for our group, they could not provide meals on an individual basis. They were remodeling the restaurant, but we used a meeting room for meals and snacks for the group. Vanderbilt had a home football game which may have been the reason for limited cold drinks and foods in the market. Read less

We came into town for a work conference, and ended up at this Marriott not realizing it was Vanderbilt's homecoming. The hotel was highly occupied, but the staff handled the craziness of it all with patience and great customer service.. especially the valet and bellman outside the hotel. They really made the visit welcoming.
