Hotel Le Germaine Toronto

Toronto, Canada

The hotel

Keeping up with Le Germain’s reputation for delivering urban glamour in prime locations, Le Germain Toronto Mercer is both sleekly stylish and enviably central. It may be surrounded by top Toronto eateries, but the hotel’s bistro, Victor, features enough delectable dishes to tempt you to ‘dine in’ – and you’ll certainly want to enjoy the hotel’s complimentary deluxe Continental breakfasts, and a few evenings on the rooftop terrace, where you can sip cocktails, gaze over the cityscape, and even perfect your putt on the putting green.

We enjoyed our stay here. The front desk were friendly and the Concierge was especially helpful. The cocktails at the bar were exceptionally good (if you like negroni, try the negronic!) The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Internet speeds were great. We didn't eat dinner here, there are lots of amazing places to eat nearby, but had breakfast several times, which was totally fine for a small spread of cold food (a la carte options were available). Went to get good coffee elsewhere. As one other reviewer mentioned there was a fair bit of construction going on opposite, but it didn't cause any disturbance to us. Read less

Trying to find this hotel on foot is a daunting prospect for strangers to Toronto as it is placed in a small back street close to the financial district. The reception was cool, the staff impersonal and seemingly disinterested and the overall decor not quite what was expected from the website descriptions. The dark ceiling of our room only served to conceal large cracks but the bed was comfortable enough to provide a good nights' sleep. We did not experience the restaurant for dinner but the continental breakfast offered a tiny selection of cereal, meat, cheese, yoghurt and fruit juice and in spite of the sparse selections there was sufficient for most tastes. Currently some rooms overlook a building site and generally no views from any floor offer a city view. This is not a classy hotel and one should be made aware that there are many other options in this category from which to chose. Read less

We were in Toronto to catch a blue jays game and this hotel is about a 2 minute walk from the stadium- and an excellent location from restaurants, second city, and great eats! The room is a bit dark, but it's still very nice, quiet and great breakfast in the morning. As well, you can check out later without being charged which is a huge bonus… Read more
