Exactly what you would expect of a big box hotel in a big city. Ok room, ok staff, ok amenities. I upgrade mine to a junior suite and I’m glad I did. It had a lovely view of the lake. Food was a bit of a disappointment, I had a drink at their Irish pub and no good food options, felt like a dive bar more than a Hotel bar.

Overall my sister and I had a wonderful experience at the Hilton Chicago this past weekend. Overall my sister and I had a wonderful experience at the Hilton Chicago this past weekend. Jennifer with in-house reservations as well as the gentleman who checked us in were exceptional (I don't recall the gentleman's name). Our room (2475) had two queen beds, two full bathrooms, and a spectacular view of Lake Michigan. While the room appeared to be recently refreshed, you could tell it had seen better days. The thermostat display was falling off the wall and some of the furniture was chipped. Provided the age of the hotel, we were overall impressed with the room. There are two main reasons I am giving this hotel four stars out of five. 1) the check-out experience could have been better. There was some confusion regarding the $25.00 destination fee and the Front Desk Agent was making her frustration known. 2) The service at Kitty O'Shea's the morning of 11/19 was a joke. We had a hard time finding a table as there were several tables that needed to be cleared. Once we found a spot, we waited 10+ minutes for a server to greet us. We ended up going to the Starbucks on-site. Read less

Mixed bag here at Hilton Chicago. Good location, nice view if you get a room overlooking Michigan. Reception and bell staff are friendly and helpful. Bar and Irish bar are nice enough. Rooms are tired and dirty, however. The price is expensive considering the quality. Housekeeping came only once in 5 days and didn't finish the job even on that… Read more

Rooms are tired and dirty, however. The price is expensive considering the quality. Housekeeping came only once in 5 days and didn't finish the job even on that day. Maybe because I didn't leave a tip but then who expects housekeeping to come after 6pm? The room was already dirty upon check-in anyway. Read less
