Loews Chicago

Chicago, USA

The hotel

Situated just a block over from the Chicago River and the same again from North Michigan Avenue, you'll find yourself immersed in one of the Windy City's most vibrant shopping and entertainment districts with plenty of things to do all within walking distance. However, the adage why go out for burgers when you've got steak at home certainly rings true. No matter when you're planning on checking out the flame grilled options there's always time for a few sociable tipples with both ETA Restaurant + Bar and Streeterville Social providing a seductive selection of cocktails and bubbly. If you're feeling guilty for over indulging, then forget about it and go back for seconds! But if you simply have to let off some steam there's The Luxury Spa to help you glide back down to earth in time to do it all over again tomorrow.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! Decent hotel, but definitely not up to "4 star hotel" standards. -complete VIOLATION OF PRIVACY: Their COVID policy is no housekeeping unless it's requested. We did NOT request housekeeping, yet they entered our room without consent. They touched and moved around all of our personal belongings. Extremely unprofessional and a gross violation of privacy. They still have no response for why this occurred... -staff is rude, dismissive, and super unprofessional (as many of the other reviews say) -bugs: there were at least 20 tiny flying bugs on and around the window. some dead. some alive. ew. -wifi was supposed to be included. we had to call/ and stop by the front desk several times. they did not resolve the issue until the 3rd day of our stay... -amenities: the terrace and rooftop bar were closed off the entire time. And, the pool looks way worse in person than online. -bathroom in the room: they don't have real doors; only a sliding flimsy door that doesn't even shut and lock all the way. And, there's no exhaust fan in the bathroom either so everyone can hear and smell your poops. -the night lights in our room didn't work, and it's pretty evident the electrician just didn't wire them right. -location: pretty much the only good thing. but you could go to any of the hotels in that area for cheaper, and with way better amenities and service. Stayed 3 days in the Loews Chicago. Outstanding service and rooms. Our corner room had a great view. Walking distance to the beaches, Navy Pier and Michigan Ave. We will be back next summer. Definitely recommend!

The service standards at this property have SERIOUSLY fallen. We had to wait over an hour to get a fridge to our room. We were provided three dirty comforters. Witness guest in the lobby who were more than dissatisfied with their stay and held up a line arguing with the front desk & Julian (although comped our first night of parking $70) seemed… Read more

Witness guest in the lobby who were more than dissatisfied with their stay and held up a line arguing with the front desk & Julian (although comped our first night of parking $70) seemed just as over it as the rest of the staff. If they didn’t want to work there, they should just say that. Read less

Beautiful, luxurious, filled with art pieces, friendly staff, impeccable cleanliness, ridiculously comfortable beds, fantastic view, rooftop terrace and bar, pool, gym, etc. This was our best Chicago visit and we never even left the hotel… you don’t need to, they have everything you need at Loews.

The hotel is located within walking distance to main attractions of Chicago, without being right in the midst of all the hustle and bustle of Michigan Ave. There were 3 guests (3 average size ladies) staying in the premium double room for a quick weekend getaway. I wouldn’t stay again because the double beds were small. Would have been better if they offered a queen size double bed. The front desk attendant I encountered when we arrived was kind of flustered due to how busy it was and was as welcoming. Kind of killed my high of being in CHI! But I experienced another front desk agent when I lost my key and she was much friendlier. The roof top bar was fun and enjoyable. I also felt safe. I would give the hotel a solid 3 stars knocking them for the double beds (this isn’t NY) and front desk person. If you don’t care about those things it’s solid choice. Read less
