Indigo Atlanta Midtown

Atlanta, Georgia

The hotel

There’s something suitably theatrical about Indigo Atlanta Midtown. It could be the vibrant colour scheme and theatre-inspired wall murals in the guestrooms. Or perhaps the red curtains swagged around the drinks in the bar. Or maybe the musical buzz that sweeps around the city and in through the hotel’s doors. Or perhaps it’s just its location, opposite Atlanta’s famous Fox Theatre. Whatever it is, it adds a sense of drama, decadence, and fun to your stay in the arts and entertainments district. It ticks all the traveller boxes, from a 24-hour fitness studio to complimentary WiFi and easy access to bars and restaurants, although the hotel’s unique flair attracts both visitors and locals to its own 683 Midtown Bar and Bistro, where popular Stateside dishes are enjoyed with local brews and handcrafted cocktails.

I think that, although the decor and ambience of the hotel are lovely, the real problem seems to be a general deficiency in the service that is provided. There wasn't any real issue as such but there were a number of times that service wasn't great, particularly after a long flight from the UK. The coffee machine in the room was broken. Answer- you can get some coffee from the bar. We wanted a burger at 2pm. Answer- we've run out of burgers We wanted a glass of wine at 4pm. Answer- the bar is shut. There's a bar down the street. I picked the Indigo because it seemed to offer something different but I wasn't terribly impressed. Read less

Have you ever made a mistake to book a hotel for the wrong date? Well, we all have, right? I was supposed to arrive tomorrow but booked for one week ahead. I realized my mistake WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF MY RESERVATION, contacted hotels.com for them to make the change understanding there was a $40 difference from my paid reservation in which I was more than happy to pay for. Guess what? This hotel did not accept the change because according to them, they have strict policies on non-refundable reservations. They literally preferred to lose a customer and take advantage of a mistake than to be flexible with a mistake that was identified within 30 minutes of the time the reservation was made. I called this hotel 3 times asking for flexibility they simply said they wouldn´t do anything. How come? I personally find this disrespectful because I threw $170 on the trash and they took my money without having a guest come in. Perfect for them! Honestly, I hope they continue to lose customers until they change to a management that are humans and not robots. I travel all over the world and this is the first time that it happens to me. It would be my first time at the Indigo and this chain, never again - but their general headquarters will be hearing from me also. Read less

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Indigo Midtown this weekend while we were in Atlanta for a football game. After reading many negative reviews about the small bathrooms, I booked a handicap accessible room (for two people) because they have larger bathrooms. When I checked in, I asked what size bed the room had and was told it had a queen size bed. When we walked in the room, we were shocked to see what looked like a child's twin bed (barely big enough for one adult and definitely not two). I called the front desk to get moved to another room and was told they were completely booked and we would have to stay in that room. I asked to speak to the manager, and after staying on hold forever, I finally hung up and went and found him. He said we had booked a "standard room" which meant we would have to take whatever room they had available (even though I had booked the room for 2 people). He had a bad attitude and was not interested in helping a guest. It was a miserable weekend of no sleep thanks to a rude and unhelpful hotel manager. There was also a lot of traffic and road noise all night long and we were on the 11th floor. Virtually every guest we talked to was unhappy with either a tiny bathroom or a tiny bed and said they would not be back. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! Read less

We spent 2 nights here (22nd & 23rd Aug). The staff were friendly and welcoming; our room was very stylish and comfortable. The bathroom may be a bit on the small side for some but it was fine for us with a very nice powerful shower. It's just a 15 minute walk away from the Georgia Aquarium, Coca Cola world and the civil and human rights centre… Read more

Because we were taking a grandson to the Fox Theater, choose this Indigo location. The hotel looks great. However, as orher reviewers have noted, as modern as the bathroom appears, it is small. In fact, I have had larger heads on a 40' sailboat. First challenge. Breakfast buffet? Don't waste your money. It's terrible, and coffee is extra.… Read more

Housekeeping replenished nothing, which meant reusing glasses from the trash. To sum, looks great and that is it. Read less
