The Westin Atlanta Perimeter North

Atlanta, Georgia

The hotel

Lakefront luxury, Westin Atlanta Perimeter North offers refined comforts and unusual extras. We’re talking added touches like athletic shoe and apparel rental, so you don’t have to pack your own. That does mean there’s no excuse for missing a workout at the hotel’s 24-hour fitness studio – or perhaps at the USA’s fourth largest health facility, right next door, with its indoor running track and outdoor tennis courts. The Westin also provides an outdoor saltwater pool, a children’s club, a free shuttle to the Perimeter Mall’s shopping and dining, and Savor Bar + Kitchen, where the food is inspired by the old flavours of the South, and the modern trend back to farm-to-table dining.

My stay is always great at the Westin Atlanta Perimeter. Although I am away from home it feels like home. The front desk staff is amazing and very helpful. The Direct of Operations Dedo pays attention to detail and remembers his guest and their preference in choice of floor and room. Merdie in the restaurant is a true gem. I’m not sure why this hotel is considered a luxury hotel. It is more on the lines of a Hampton Inn or Courtyard when it comes to the actual quality of the rooms. There is nothing fancy, upscale or unusually nice about the room we stayed in. 10th floor room 1003. It had a moldy, old smell when we first entered the room. The bathroom is as small as… Read more
I’m not sure why this hotel is considered a luxury hotel. It is more on the lines of a Hampton Inn or Courtyard when it comes to the actual quality of the rooms. There is nothing fancy, upscale or unusually nice about the room we stayed in. 10th floor room 1003. It had a moldy, old smell when we first entered the room. The bathroom is as small as a closet and you cannot close the door without hitting yourself in the head. Yes, it’s that small. The sink faucet leaked out onto the counter, the shower wand also was leaking so we could not use that. The dressing mirror has a weird shelf cutting into half of your view in the mirror which made no sense whatsoever. We followed the suggestions here to request lake view which we got, but know that the “lake” is more like a low -lying mud pond and really was not worth looking at. The hotel lobby is nice, although the 2 nights we were there it was super busy and loud with tons of guests hanging out down there, eating and basically using the space as a party unit. Not welcoming or cool to have to wade through tons of drunk folks just to get to the elevators. Parking is $14 per night and is not close. Also parking spaces are very tiny, so we found it better to park away from other cars so as not to risk getting our car damaged by neighboring cars. The bed mattress was hard and uncomfortable. There was dust on the coffee maker and the facial tissue holder so I could tell the room had not been cleaned recently to tidy up since the last guests. Overall, we have stayed in much nice accommodations at 3 star properties like Cambria, Hampton Inn and even Courtyard by Marriott. But if you just want a basic, small, room with few upgrades in the Perimeter area, then this is the place for you. But for the cost, just don’t. Read less

This is a very average dated hotel. From the carpets to the chipped paint in room. Even as a Marriot Bon Voy Gold member they gave us a room with a broken door latch and that does not close properly. The customer service was 50/50 and meets this very average dated room. I stayed at far better Marriott properties. 4 out of 10

Hotel is beautiful, but not family friendly, first, no swimming pool, the kids had no where to relax after baseball games, second, no microwave in rooms, and lastly you have to pay for parking. I would not stay here again, I always travel with my family.
