The rooms are a bit outdated, however the view is beautiful. The location is everything, there’s no need to leave the hotel. The security guards are incredibly nice and they do their job professionally. The restaurant had amazing food. My family and I loved the Pizza, Gyro, and chicken wings. We will be coming back for another trip soon!

After reading a lot of the other reviews for this place, we decided to go in with low expectations. We encountered only helpful and pleasant staff, and our room was very quiet, although there was no one staying next door. Our friends who stayed across the hall said they were kept up by the people in the room adjacent to theirs who just had their tv on throughout the night. This was even when using a fan, ear plugs, and one was wearing a C-Pap! There were a number of restaurants within walking distance (a mile), so that was a plus since we didn't rent a car. We had the king suite facing the ocean, Rm. 831.. The balcony actually faces the air conditioning units for the Ocean Manor next door, and they are noisy. There is a front view of the ocean from the balcony, but being completely open meant noise and lots of wind. You could also see all the people behind you on their balconies. The wind at that height and the air conditioner noise prevented us from enjoying much time out there. There is a large window in the room that faces the ocean, but it is in desperate need of cleaning. So we had a murky view of the sunrise each morning. The beach was beautiful, the hot tub and pool were lovely. No one was eating in the hotel restaurants at all. My friends ordered a sandwich for lunch one of the days on the beach, and it was horrible. They described it as old meat on Wonder Bread! Bottom line: It's great if you just want to be on the beach and don't care about your accommodations. Read less

The place is old, run down, dirty. The lobby may fool you. Restaurant was not open for dinner. Was sent out side in the wind to the bar, ordered a pizza which was a frozen pizza in a pizza box. Was very disappointed because I read reviews before we went. Overpriced for the amenities.

Where do I even begin… well let me start by saying I’ve never been so disappointed in a hotel that warranted a negative review until now. For $400 per night at the Ocean Sky Resort, you get: Terrible and grossly expensive restaurant food. Guests are not permitted to bring ‘outside food and drink’ with them to the pool, so you’d think the wait quality would be a bit better…. We each ordered a turkey club. After waiting about 30 minutes, we were in shock when our food arrived. The sandwiches resembled something you’d make in your own kitchen with square, grocery store white bread and it was paired with cold microwaved fries. Our bill for 2 sandwiches, fries, water, and 2 petite bloody marys was $75. I’m not exaggerating when I say McDonald’s across the street serves better and fresher food. Needless to say, we did not give the restaurant another chance and opted for nearby options. The rooms are outdated and the humidity levels are quite concerning. (I know it’s south Florida) Get ready to wake up drenched in sweat. I’m surprised this place is not visibly covered in mold and bugs. The walls are paper thin and you can hear every move your neighbors make. If you’re seeking a quiet, relaxing stay… The Ocean Sky is not for you. The beach front access and pool area are the only redeeming qualities of this self-proclaimed resort. The poolside tiki bar is nice, but you can’t enjoy adult beverage anywhere but in your chair because security guards will accost you if you have a cocktail near the pool or hot tub. All towels (bathroom and pool) are thin, scratchy, and on the verge of developing holes. I attempted to retrieve 4 towels to take to the beach and a different security guard (not the one who scolded us for having a drink by the hot tub) immediately asked me how many people I needed towels for… I replied with ‘two’ to which he said ‘no, you can only have one each’. For $400 a night, you’d think getting one extra towel was acceptable for two fully-grown adults, especially since the towels are child size. Moments later, that same security guard approached us while laying poolside in our bikinis to say hello… leaving us feeling very uncomfortable. We returned to our room shortly after. Some other notable shortcomings of the Ocean Sky Resort: WiFi didn’t work. USB plugs on bedside table didn’t work. No late checkout. Stains on the desk chair. Stained carpet. Constant construction noise from neighboring hotels. Good things about the OSR: Located on the beach. Family friendly. Walkable area. Easy to get to. Seemingly safe area. About 30 minutes from the airport. The gift shop has trinkets, snacks and souvenirs, but be prepared for a pushy cashier. The woman at the counter was trying to working hard to upsell us to get us to spend more money than we needed to. ($400 per night was enough!) We went in for sunscreen and she was pressuring us to purchase t-shirts. Note: the selection of sunscreen includes a wide variety of low SPF oils. Skip this shop and walk a few minutes down to CVS or Winn Dixie! In general, the service was bad and Covid staffing shortages should not to be to blame for blatant rudeness. I would not recommend staying here for any occasion. Read less
