Wyndham New Orleans French Quarter

New Orleans, Louisiana

The hotel

Most come to New Orleans for the exuberance and elegance of the French Quarter, and this hotel places you right in the thick of it. Just blocks from Bourbon Street, it’s also your way into The Big Easy’s other lures: gumbo, jazz and blues, Mississippi steamboat sounds, even Mardi Gras if you time things right, fill surrounding streets. But Wyndham New Orleans French Quarter is more than its prime Royal Street address. Inside you’re treated to the French Quarter’s only indoor heated pool, a terracotta-tiled sanctuary with views of both the adjoining hotel gym and New Orleans itself. With valet parking onsite, it couldn't be easier to explore the cities sights, or you can take a leisurely stroll to local shops and restaurants in the historic French Market district.

The rooms are nice and clean. The location is close to most of the attractions. Customer service is non existent. I tried for three weeks to simply have someone check lost and found. Multiple calls and emails go unanswered. I give up. Never again.

Friendly staff was very helpful! Very secure safe and comfortable stay.Great location!! Would stay again for sure.Noise this close to bourbon street well mitigated. They kept us and our friends together in adjoining rooms without even asking...just the little things like that that add up!

Kudos to the maid service. However, don't ask Sean, the Concierge about things to do around New Orleans as he didn't have a clue and didn't seem to know much about the area around the hotel or the French Quarter. Ask the front desk instead as they had more information than Sean did. A more informative Concierge would be helpful. We were told to be careful around the hotel because of seedy individuals in that area but we didn't have a problem. Get a room away from the noise of the street and you will be happy to stay at this hotel. Then Red Fish Grill Restaurant was our favorite place to eat for dinner. Read less

My BFF and I spent a couple of nights here for our vacation get away/ road trip. The staff was awesome and extremely friendly. Everyone from the valets to the front desk to the maids. Our rooms were very well maintained. Even though our upgrade to a "room with a view" turned out to be a room with a view of a construction building, my only… Read more

Our rooms were very well maintained. Even though our upgrade to a "room with a view" turned out to be a room with a view of a construction building, my only complaint about the room was the bathroom sink was a little too close to the toilet and I kept hitting my elbow on it. This hotel is located in the French Quarter close to Bourbon Street but the most important thing is it is in walking distance if you need to use the bathroom! It is also in walking distance for all the shuttles and trams. Also remember, the French Quater smells horrible. It has nothing to do with the hotel, but if you have a squeamish stomach, don't visit the French Quarter. Read less

Very disappointed—place was old and smelly. Needs to be remodeled. Location is close to amenities in French Quarter if you’re looking for the nightlife, however, the area is very filthy and slum-y, expect to be approached by beggars everywhere.
