Wyndham New Orleans French Quarter

New Orleans, Louisiana

The hotel

Most come to New Orleans for the exuberance and elegance of the French Quarter, and this hotel places you right in the thick of it. Just blocks from Bourbon Street, it’s also your way into The Big Easy’s other lures: gumbo, jazz and blues, Mississippi steamboat sounds, even Mardi Gras if you time things right, fill surrounding streets. But Wyndham New Orleans French Quarter is more than its prime Royal Street address. Inside you’re treated to the French Quarter’s only indoor pool, a terracotta-tiled sanctuary with views of both the adjoining hotel gym and New Orleans itself. Downstairs, Deuce McAllister’s Ole Saint Kitchen & Tap serves southern dishes like BBQ shrimp, local and regional craft beers, and Louisiana-inspired cocktails, with both the restaurant and sports lounge infused in Deep South hospitality.

The location is right next to the quarter and basically on bourbon street but away from the noise. The only weird part of the hotel was the bathroom doors. They are glass sliding doors and they don’t mask any sound.. rooftop hangout was awesome!

Do not stay here. Everyone who we encounter had the worse attitude and didn’t seem like they wanted to be there. There was no urgency to any of them. Checked in and checked out immediately. Front desk person DC promised a full refund once manager comes in and of course days later they charged the credit card. Rita the manager still hasn’t refunded… Read more

Front desk person DC promised a full refund once manager comes in and of course days later they charged the credit card. Rita the manager still hasn’t refunded the charges and has an excuse every time I have called to follow up on the refund. This hotel and its employees are a disgrace to the Marriott chain. If I could give a negative 10 I would do so. Save yourself the time and headache and don’t even stay at this place. Read less

I picked this hotel because it's pretty new and it's close to the French Quarters. The lady that checked us in was really nice. I like euro style and it seems like a modern hotel. However, some things did fall short. There was a piece of tissue sitting on the floor when I opened the bathroom door. I also found a pair of dirty socks next to the chair near the bed. Bathroom floor seems dirty and needs to be mopped. Some tiles on the bathroom floor could use some new grout. Makes you wonder how clean the room actually is. Since it's COVID season, we do wipe down surfaces that we may touch during our stay. Hotel has potential but needs a bit of upkeep. Read less

However the only phone in my room did not work so I had to go to the lobby EVERY time I needed anything including my car which was $40 a day to park valet but it was advertised as $30. NO breakfast no room service no vending!!! COME with a full stomach. The lightning in the room is horrible. There is one bulb that’s about 2-3 inches that’s fixed in front of the door that is supposed to light the entire room. My shower did not work properly and there is only a closet pushed off into a corner. No drawers to put clothing. I would not stay again for the price that I paid. Read less
