Wyndham New Orleans French Quarter

New Orleans, Louisiana

The hotel

Most come to New Orleans for the exuberance and elegance of the French Quarter, and this hotel places you right in the thick of it. Just blocks from Bourbon Street, it’s also your way into The Big Easy’s other lures: gumbo, jazz and blues, Mississippi steamboat sounds, even Mardi Gras if you time things right, fill surrounding streets. But Wyndham New Orleans French Quarter is more than its prime Royal Street address. Inside you’re treated to the French Quarter’s only indoor pool, a terracotta-tiled sanctuary with views of both the adjoining hotel gym and New Orleans itself. Downstairs, Deuce McAllister’s Ole Saint Kitchen & Tap serves southern dishes like BBQ shrimp, local and regional craft beers, and Louisiana-inspired cocktails, with both the restaurant and sports lounge infused in Deep South hospitality.

The feel of a business hotel, with none of the extras one needs for a holiday stay. No drawers in the rooms for example so we couldn't really unpack. Comfortable bar, but opening hours varied. The AC Hotel New Orleans Bourbon is full of people whose mission is to show you the true meaning of the term “Southern Hospitality”! I arrived very late @ night (train was ~ 3 hours late) & when I was not happy with the sight of another part of that building as my view (I was going to be in NOLA for a week or I wouldn’t have cared), Jessica tried to resolve the issue. She was unable to that evening, but, appeared @ my door with four complimentary breakfast coupons! I was good! Amber had the issue resolved in the morning & I had a view of the street. D. C. helped me move to my new room and provided good information with a hearty smile & easy manner throughout my stay. Kyrs, the bartender was creative in meeting my desire for a low sugar, virgin drink with delicious Mojitos! Ashley provided good information & all where flexible as the fluid Coronavirus epidemic continued to unfold. The folks in the breakfast room were wonderful as well. The housekeeping staff was stellar & I had no question that my room was being meticulously cleaned and sanitized each day! I was in NOLA for a family wedding & two wedding events (welcome reception & farewell brunch) were held @ this venue & those were handled very well too. When I return to NOLA, about which there is not doubt, there also is no doubt I will return to this specific hotel! Read less

The hotel itself was very nice but the room service was poor with rooms not being cleaned or replenished daily and generally whilst staff were polite they didn't give the impression that there was any degree of organisation or grasp of the daily operations needed to run the hotel smoothly and effectively.

I’ve never had such a great check-in experience before. Amber B was amazing! If there was anything wrong with the room - because of her, I wouldn’t address it because she gave the kind of customer service that would make a person overlook any flaw. All of the staff was awesome but especially Amber. I am an Assistant General Manager at SpringHill by Marriott in Nashville - I literally came back raving about my experience there. Amber provided me with a list of restaurants - right after I checked in I went to a restaurant Amber selected for lunch - best choice! The doorman/woman and PMS team out side were also great! Everyone is well informed for tourist, friendly, upbeat and energetic. I came alone and the staff made me feel as though they were along for my trip! I will definitely be back soon and I’m only staying at the AC! Read less

There were only king rooms avalaible, it was 3 of us, how would that work? It Didnt... I was told to call in the a.m. to see if any doubles were avaliable. Guess what, they weren't.The room was not big enough for the three of us and it felt like I was in a hospital with no window just some sort of fake plexiglass window. I would not recommend this hotel at all, my stay was very uncomfortable. Read less
